  You can activate the Device Manager to view hidden devices by following the steps mentioned below:

  To work around this behavior and display devices when you click Show hidden devices:

  1. Click Start, point to programs, point to Accessories, and then click command prompt.
  2. At a command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:

     Set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices = 1

  3. Type the following command a command prompt and press ENTER:

     Start devmgmt.msc

  4. Troubleshoot the devices and drivers in Device Manager.

  Uninstall all software and drivers for printers:

  When you need to uninstall a driver completely, the best and safest method is to use the uninstaller of the device (if it has one). If you have added the device to your system with a Setup program (as is the case with most of the graphics card and sound card drivers, for example), you can uninstall it as you would any other program.

  Method 1:

  I suggest to connect the hard drive, then try to run the security analysis. You may need to disable all autorun feature, if you use the drive. Then, try to perform security analysis and check if you have any viruses or malware present.

  Is it possible for me to check my ink level?  Since I upgraded to Windows 7 I was not able to do this.  The only advice I found is to print a test page, allegedly containing a report of ink level.  In fact, it does not have an ink level report.  I have an all in one of 1350, our warranty so I can't get free advice and do not include paid options (and doubt they will help).  However, I understand that many have this same problem with other HP printers, so the model may not matter.  Any method successful with Windows 7 and any HP printer (not involving does not test page) would be greatly appreciated

  Thanks for posting the details of your system. I'm skeptical about the "CompTool0234 Community Toolbar". Could you disable some add-ons and see if that helps.

  On this tab:

  Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Plugins category

  Disable «Conduit Plugin»

  On this tab:

  Disable the CompTool0234 community toolbar.

  Creative Memories Photo Manager probably ejected your camera after you import the images. Check the default settings and change them if you prefer something different.

  If your camera is not displayed as ejection, it is safe to remove it. Damage to the file system wouldn't be possible, but not certain, if he had written active file or buffer not released when the device has been deleted.
