Delay in recording...

OK, here's my set-up. This is jank and cheap

so don't laugh.

I'm running my pedal, my pedal Digitech RP from now b/c my BOSS ME will not work for that for some stupid reason, but anyway. I run my pedal for my small mixer 4 channels.  I have a cable with 2 plugs 1/4 inch on one end and a 1/8 inch of the other decision-making. I have this cable inserted in my L & R out and plug the 1/8 inch into my mic slot on my laptop.

I know hearing 1.5 very well but I wanted to try 3.0.  With my setup, there is never a delay on check in 1.5 but in 3.0, I have a slight delay.

Anyone know what could be the problem?

It will almost inevitably be a combination of things - firstly, AA3.0 doesn't use native Windows DLLs, etc. for recording in the way 1.5 don't - it uses a motor of ASIO. Only, I think that in your situation, it does not directly, because this would only apply if you have used a sound device with an ASIO driver, and generally of the internal sound devices is not available. So what is happening is that the internal engine of the ASIO is 'conveyed' by the driver of Windows of hearing, which met with the WDM driver... and inevitably, this slows everything down a bit; starting is more slow and the latency increases.

So what you're watching, it's a considerably more processing overhead. This is a direct consequence of using a non-native driver system, but hey, it's the one everybody pleaded with Adobe to use, without taking into account the disadvantages to it. If you need to register using integrated hardware, then almost all cases, you are better to do it using 1.5 until Adobe has find a way to let people use two kinds of drivers in native mode.

  • I don't know why the live monitoring is delayed while recording.

I don't know why but when I record and I want to hear my voice in the headphones I can hear myself but its delay. I tried to adjust latency on the asio Control Panel, but it makes no difference, please help.

Don't know what you're asking, but to listen to headphones off the Tascam with no latency, you set my Mix on the Tascam on entry button.

To listen through the hearing, you set the Mix of my computer and in the multitrack display, you click on the button next to the M, S and R - I button buttons. Between settings latency on the Tascam in Windows Control Panel and settings of the hearing, the latency should be OK. It's here with just the default settings.

In the Audio preferences of the hearing, material, you must have ASIO as the device class, of course.

Everything I can reallly say is that it works very well here, so you should be able to sort it out simply enough.

  • Display in real time with a delayed recording LV6.1

Hi, I need help with LabView 6.1

I have a hardware module FieldPoint where I read 8 channels for thermocouple. I want to display the value of the thermocouples in real time (or as close as I can manage) all saving the values in a CSV file at discrete time intervals (every 10 seconds). I am able to display the values in real-time, but the recorder real-time records, produce a lot too much data. I'm able to delay the recording interval, but in bulk then display in real time!

The following example shows a method I've tried. The delay time in the loop of logging seems to delay the entire program. I also tried to use the loop of the logging of a sequence (using a simple delay of 'Wait') structure and a structure of matter (with a counter and only do the loop of logging real when the counter gets to 1). I tried to configure synchronous display without success.

I'm having no luck and wonder if someone could point me in the right direction?

    Ah, the benefits of time.

    I think that I managed to create a solution for me using a different tact. Instead of using individual meters of delay, I used a "trigger time" approach as demonstrated in this thread;

    http://forums.NI.com/NI/board/message?board.ID=170&message.ID=286988&query.ID=6280650#M286988

Currently, it is limited because it will allow only a delay of 59 seconds between the readings, but this should be relatively easy to solve. The solution works continuously update the display with a slight delay to help cope aging computers, and then the button "Log Data" is selected writing worksheet function is called second pushed together as selected. Quite a simple and elegant solution I think.

  • Latency with Garage Band 10.1.0

    Hi all new here.

so please forgive me in advance by the lack of understanding about the functioning of a community.

    I just bought an iMac:

system: OS X el 10.11.2 captain

    Processor: 3.1 GHz

    memory: 8 GB

I have a problem with Garage band (10.1.0).

The computer is brand-new, but I have a problem of latency (delay) when recording my voice into the microphone.

the microphone is just plugged directly into the headphone (the only one).

I don't find much in aid of GB on latency.

I am very grateful if anyone can help

    Thank you very much

    Fab

    Hi fabianadellave,

Welcome to the communities of support and thanks for your question.  I understand that you have latency when recording from an external microphone in your new iMac.

    1. The first thing I would say is to unplug your external microphone and any external audio devices and test using the internal microphone on your iMac.
    2. Then check the settings System Preferences > Sound for your Microphone (input) and speakers (output).
    3. For this test, make sure that the input device is set to mic internal (built-in)
    4. Make sure that the output device is set on internal speakers (built)

In Garageband, recording a vocal track without effects.

    1. First, create a new project.
    2. Use the Audio - recording using a microphone or line input as a model for the project.
    3. Make sure that there are no effects like echo or delay active.
    4. Arm the track (planned for the record), and then click the record button and write down a few sentences.

When you reproduce the return track, you hear any delay?

Fabianadellave, if you have a chance to try this test-first of the hardware in your computer, please reply back with the results. In addition, if you can answer these questions, it would give us a better understanding of your unique situation.

    • What mic do you use?
    • You have an audio interface, you can work with rather than plug the microphone directly into the 3.5 mm headphone?
    • You use an adapter on your external microphone to this input of size?

Once we confirm that the internal mic works as expected, then we can turn your external microphone.  For best results, use a microphone that has an XLR cable.  Plug the XLR cable into an audio interface that connects to the USB port of your iMac.

    Before recording audio

You can record your voice, an acoustic instrument, or any other sound using your computer's built-in microphone or a microphone connected to your computer. You record sound from a microphone on an audio track.

Before you start recording, do the following:

    • Connect a microphone to your computer and make sure the microphone is turned on and functional.

    • Connect an electric guitar to your computer and make sure that the guitar works.

    • Select the audio track you want to record to, or Add an audio track. Be sure to set the input source, the input volume level and follow-up of the piece.

    • Set the project bit depth, which is the number of digital bits that each sample contains. Record at a depth of 24 bits is recommended for most situations and is the default setting.

  • Grant instruments that are connected to your system for you ensure that your external instrument records are tune without instruments software, samples or existing records in your project.

  • Set the input source for the track

    1. Select the range that you want to use, and then click the Smart Controls in the control bar.

    2. Click the Inspector button of in the menu bar of smart controls to open the Inspector of intelligent control.

  • In the recording settings section, click on the button enter to switch between a pair of stereo input channels and a mono input channel, and then choose the source from the context menu of the entry.

  • Adjust the input for the sound source volume

    1. Select the range that you want to use, and then click the Smart Controls in the control bar.

    2. Click the Inspector button of in the menu bar of smart controls to open the Inspector of intelligent control.

    3. In the section recording settings, adjust the recording level.

You can also select the automatic level control checkbox to automatically adjust the recording level. He lowers the level to prevent feedback and raises the level too low.

Hear your microphone or your instrument that you play and record (monitoring)

    Do one of the following:

    • Click the control button in the header of the track of the track that you want to use.

    • Select the range that you want to use, and then click the control button in the record of the Inspector of intelligent control settings section.

You can also select the feedback Protection checkbox to avoid the Larsen effect while you play.

    Create tracks

You add tracks to a project to keep your recordings, loops and other materials. When you add a track, you can choose the track type, format, input source (for audio) and output. The options in the dialog box new track vary depending on the type of circuit that you create.

The new track appears in the area of securities.

    Create a new track

    1. Do one of the following:

      • Choose track > new track (or press Command-Option-N).

      • Click on the button Add a track above the track headers.

    2. Select the type of track in the upper part of the dialog box new track.

  • For audio tracks, choose the input source from the context menu of the entry.

  • Do one of the following:

    • To turn on monitoring audio tracks: check the box "I want to hear my instrument that I play and record.

    • To enable recording of audio tracks: check "prepare new audio tracks for immediate registration.

    • To change the input device: below the context menu entry, a line of text displays the current input device. Click the arrow next to the text, and then change the device in the Audio preferences panel.

    • To change the output device: drop-down menu below the exit, a line of text displays the current output device. Click the arrow next to the text, and then change the device in the Audio preferences panel.

  • Click on create.

The new track appears in the area of securities, and the library opens so you can choose a patch for the track.

  • Hope that helps...

  • Why spoil the sound?

I paid for the windows 7 upgrade and had to pay to downgrade from vista.  The sound is horrible.  I have to monitor the realtime sound that I am a court reporter and WIN 7 has changed so there's a 2 or 3 seconds of DELAY in recording the sound as to what is happening in real time.  It is therefore impossible for me to use my upgrade to windows 7.

Microsoft, why you mess with the sound?  How can I left MS know that they made a big Boo-Boo and IS there DIFFICULTY?  It cost me a lot of money.

I answer in 2013 because I think that the latency problem caused by the use of usb microphones.  If I plug directly on my computer I have more the latency problem.  Or maybe a MS update solved the problem.

  • CS3 mic - newbie registration issues

    Hello

I have a few questions about the record from a microphone I play a timeline with video in it... like if I do a narrative v.o...

This is the first time I used his Age stuff... and am just setting myself up to start to 'learn' on audio with CS3 re: recording and mixing etc...

so please excuse the simplicity of these questions... I use onboard sound with just stereo spkrs hung and that is a driver for dell 530 realtec

    ---------

    Audio
    Type Realtec ALC888 (7.1 channel)

    -------------

    My notes... the questions and...

When mic on before recording... can hear sound in lft spkr not right...

When the record can be heard in the two spkrs... but with an echo

reading on the two spkrs... ok no echo... sounds good...

about a seconde.5 delay before recording begins actually after hitting the "Play"... How can I synchronize that upward on the timeline with video... just move video far 00.00.00 before registration? maybe move corresponding sequence (if it was a narrative vo for example) to a track separate and far 00.00.00 seconds as its has a chance to become active on record, knock out the microphone with a stick when I go to the 'start of the clip' for synchronization and then make my original?

as you can see I'm making progress for a beginner...

It sounds like (pun intended) you hear a latency, where the echo. Some microphones and more audio cards have latency issues.

    Is mono or stereo microphone?

I always turn off any speaker, when recording through mic and use headphones. There may always be a latency, but it should not intervene.

You y USB mic? Adobe programs often have problems with USB microphones.

If you get a delay of 0.5 seconds, and it's fairly consistent, then maybe add 0.5 sec. Black Video at the beginning of the video, to give you a "rolling start". Once completed, this, simply remove it properly. As I normally start my 02 seconds of Black video footage, I have some time, to do things at speed, before that I even start recording. I do that s 02 for other reasons too - allowing a DVD player lock on my track DD 5.1 Audio SS, so the first few notes is never truncated. You do not DD 5.1 SS, IIRC, so this isn't a necessary review.

    Good luck

  • Y510p DELAY everything while listening to my recorder taken entry

Hi, I have a Lenovo Y510p, i7-4700MQ, 8.1 Windows x 64, 8 GB of RAM, Intel Wireless-N 7260... My goal is to record my guitar in Audacity. Really simple, uh?... that's what I thought.

Well, I have first to separate all the input devices:

If I get this in my recording devices:

The "Mic / to the front panel" is activated when I connect my guitar to the Jack (of course, I connect it through the amp, with distortions and effects).

The "Microphone" option is for the build-in microphone, next to the webcam.

Well, I turn on the 'Listen to this device' option in the control panel of the 'before' Mic (taken), so when I record my guitar, I can listen.

So, I plug in my guitar, and as it should be, I start listening to it via my laptop speakers. Everything is OK except for one thing, there is DELAY!

In my old laptop 8 years it is low-end, I can do this without any delay, but my new Lenovo powerful, I was late... WTH?

I read that old laptops are capable of "hardware playthrough" the sound you record, but in new, you can only use the option "listen to this device", which is "software playthrough" and that the delay with it.
So, what is the point of hardware playthrough unable?
I can't not material speed it up?
How in the hell is my old laptop better save my guitar than this portable multimedia high-end $1000?

    Solved!

Just go to the speakers properties, then LEVEL tab and there is an option for hardware playthrough, so you can listen to what you save without delay.

  • Record significantly delays the start of the application registered

    Hi all the

I have the demo version of Captivate 4 and I bought the real version. I can't support until I have save the product, but given its cost, I want to assure you that Captivate works the way I need it.

I am trying to record the screen of an application of 1280 x 1024. Other products seem to have no problems, especially of Camtasia. When I use Captivate, it delays considerably the 10 original of the request-20times, is almost unusable. I don't know if it's my fault. I use lots of movement, the application updates automatically screen, and I need to capture these updates requiring no input or the user's mouse movements. I don't care if the file is very important.

    Any Suggestions?

    Doug

    Hi Doug

If there is anything I've learned in life, it's nothing but honesty. So I'm going to be honest here.

I eagerly using Captivate, but so full of movement, that's what you're after, Camtasia is unquestionably the superior product and you'll probably be much happier using it. Complete movement with Captivate has come a long way from where it once was, but Camtasia is King when it comes to full motion capture.

Sometimes I enregistrer record with Camtasia, then mix it with Captivate by dropping what I recorded in a Captivate slide.

Personally, my vote is to have both applications in my quiver. Then recognize the combinations strong each and each use as appropriate. I compare this to the saw, that I might have in my garage. All saws cut wood. But a saw runs circles around a table saw for accurate angle cuts. Similarly, nothing is comparable to a table saw to rip directly to the long sections.

    See you soon... Rick

  • delay after each image record

    Hello

Can someone help me please about an issue I'm facing. Basically, I managed to save five images in a directory, I now want to do is to save each image after a specific time period without interrupting the entire program. I tried to do this with the time elapsed time vi (under the calendar), but do not have to work. I know that it is possible using this vi. I think I have what I do is not the right way. Attached is a screenshot and the vi I haaving problems.

Is that what you want? When you click on the button 'Save 5 images' type of lock, the VI is expected to produce 5 images, with a 3 second delay between them.

Edit: this VI will also wait 3 seconds before you save the first file, if you want the first file to be created when the button is clicked, you must change the VI a little, so you can practice a little more

Edit2: important to stress, that you didn't have any time in your loop to slow it down. If you run these timing loop, your computer tries to run it as soon as possible. This is not a good practice. So I put a wait 50 MS in the loop to be ok with this...

Edit3: I also forgot to connect the cable to your digital indicator "picture #". You can put in the required place and connect the entire meter wire.

  • Enjoying a voltage sensor record position (with delay)

    Hi all

I was wondering if someone could help me here, I'm still pretty novice Labview... Basically I have a vi that I created that supplies analog sensor values in my main vi in parallel with another sub vi, which feeds in position gps in a combined string of latitude and longitude. What I try to do is to save the locations in a visible table on the front panel, when acceleration exceeds a certain amount (1 g).

The question I have is I don't want to take down the chain to a location for each time that the acceleration is outdated, so I want to put in place some sort of delay so that when the acceleration increases beyond 1 g, the position is saved and then the program waits for a moment before taking the next position (I want only one place registered per event). But I can't work on how to do this. The only way I can think of to achieve it will give me several values of position whenever the acceleration goes the limit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hey o..

the simplest solution would be to read your "string concat" using a local variable in the right event loop. Accumulate this "marker table" using a registry to offset (as usual)...

  • How to put a tension and a delay for a tenth of a second and then record current?

I use KE 24xx Sweep and measure VI and I added a measure of writing to the file.  However, I would like to pause for a few moments after that he sets the tension before it saves the current.  I don't know how, where, or what to insert.  Any ideas?

Well, whether or not correct you the data stream, it there's no way that a delay function will put a wait between the voltage and the measurement of current. You use a built-in scan function and the delay before the measure is part of the setting of the instrument and does not part of your LabVIEW code. If you want to use the scan function, read the manual to see if the instrument has a delay setting. If so, you can make an entry VISA and send the order. If it is not the case, you will have to give up the built-in scan function and create your own ramp (i.e. Ramp.vi) and make an individual writing of tension, the delay, the current read in a loop.

    HTOmega Claro + sound card
    E6600 CPU Intel
    6 GB of RAM
    NVIDIA GTX 280 video card

    Hello world

Please see my previous answers. No functionality has been removed in Windows 7. If you have an audio driver and codec that exposes the closure of material, it is always present on the levels of the speakers device tab. However, not all drivers to expose this. If you had this option on XP and load the same audio driver, it should be exposed on Windows 7. Even with the table stereo mix. If the audio driver is exposed, it will be available. It is hidden by default on Vista/Windows 7. But on the recording tab if you right click in the Open box, and then select devices see the disabled, you can enable it. If a stereo mixer device is not displayed, then the driver audio is not expose a. If you have this option on XP, so please try to install the same version of the driver that has been previously installed.

  • Delay with Gotowebinar cloud connector records? Where is the problem?

    Hi all

I ran a number of campaigns of Webinar recently and every time there was a delay with contacts once they land on the connector of cloud on the canvas of the campaign. In my last campaign, there was a delay of two hours. In the end I had to manually register a certain number of contacts they complained.

Would be - anyone know if there is a failure with gotowebinar or connectors of clouds are sometimes known to do this. Also are there tricks to try to minimize the delay.

If I can't solve this problem, I sued a different Webinar provider that cannot be a bad thing.

    Thank you

    HEY Kevin,

(Full disclosure: I work for ReadyTalk we have our own connector).

There are several ways that a delay may be introduced in the whole process. Without seeing your campaign, I'll just comment all.

    1. The use of the program generator will set up and artificial deadlines. If you are in normal mode, it's 15 minutes a step. I would recommend the canvas of the campaign to eliminate this type of delay.
    2. Have your segment on the campaign will cause a delay also because they need to cross a decision rule of "They did sign up?" before you get on the cloud connector. The answer here is that the form processing stage put them to a waiting time before the connector. (The step of waiting is configured pour.01 mins) It will also take forward invite since they would not be part of the initial segment.
    3. The cloud connector itself can be slow depending on the number of API calls it undergoes. W
    4. You may also have the form post directly on cloud connector, which eliminates a lot of #1 and #2 using the Repost at server stage in the stages of processing of forms. TJ fields has a document circulating here describing how to do so.

Using our own in-house cloud connector and avoiding the #1 and #2, we see coming in under 3 minutes quite systematically confirmations. Faster if you use the post to the step of the server in the form.

Hope that helps. Let me know if have any other questions.
