Delete Messages account

I had to send my Macbook Air Apple hospital to get a new screen and logic board.  When I came back, Messages had added somehow one account (a G-cat of my school e-mail address) that I remember ever Add.  I tried just about everything I can think of to delete, but it doesn't seem to be an option for that.  Any time that I try to do anything, he asks me the password for this account and refuses to accept it.  I have to connect to that account through a gate of the school, so I do not have a separate password for it.

I just want that he went.  Any suggestions?

If you have a school e-mail account, then it will probably also include the chat account. Open the Internet component into account in system preferences and click on the account of the school. Uncheck the box for messages. This does not remove of the pane has in iMessage, but it will make inactive. If you want to remove in the pane in iMessage, you will need to remove the account of school Internet accounts.

Very strange, usually if there is no "Basket" file, when you restart Thunderbird, it should create a new.

    Try this:
    Open your profile folder.
    Close Thunderbird.

In "Mail" / "pop.ziggo.nl " - where do you see your files as files.
Right-click in the empty space and select 'New' > 'text Document '.
A file called 'New document texte.txt', a 'text Document' will appear.
Rename this "basket", with a capital T and without extension.
It will tell if you change a filename extension, the file may become unusable, are you sure you want to change it? Click Yes.

Close the window and restart Thunderbird.

Now, try to delete an e-mail message.

Hello and welcome to the community!

You can not... the only messages that are marked on the unit are for accounts that are integrated into the device. If you delete the account integration, messages are also deleted from the device.

    Good luck!

Make sure that you have subscribed to see gmails trash folder.

Deleted messages should go to [Gmail] /Corbeille.
This will remove labels and store in AllMail until the trash is empty.

  • How to delete an account in thunderbird

I want to delete an account in Thunderbird, but cannot find a way to do it.
    How should I do?

    Open the account settings

    Tools | Account settings| < select account >

Or right click on the offending account, select settings.

Or click on the account. In the default configuration, you will see a page called "Central account", which has an option of parameters.

Account settings open in a new window. In the left pane where the accounts are listed, you will see a button labeled account Actions and this button gives a menu with an option to remove account.

Some people click the remove account option and seem surprised that the account is deleted, as well as all the messages inside. If the messages are important and you want to keep them, move them elsewhere first.

  • How can I make Thunderbird store a value over a week of deleted messages?

I want to keep all my deleted messages. Under "account settings > settings > Message storage server," I unchecked "emptying the trash at the exit." But only a week value of deleted messages are kept. The missing messages are not under "Archives". I use an IMAP via Inmotion.comserver.

personally, I doubt inmotions assertions that their imap server is not configured to delete mail from the deleted folder after a week, after all the people who use Outlook appear in forums with exactly the same problem of inmotion.

This is an experiment. Instead of delete archives (press instead of delete.) and see if the mail disappears from archive after a week. My bet not.

  • Delete messages from Gmail, but keep in Apple Mail?

    Hi all.

I use Apple Mail to download my Gmail via IMAP (Apple Mail 9.3, OSX 10.11.5).

The problem is that my Gmail account is complete. To free up space in Gmail, I want to delete messages from Gmail, but keep them locally in Apple Mail. How can I do? I guess it's the server settings, but I don't know if I need to tinker with the Apple Mail, Gmail server settings, or both.

I tried to delete the messages in Gmail, but Apple Mail sync with Gmail and delete them locally, too.

    Thank you!

Activate the sidebar of accounts, so you can see the hierarchy of depot.

You should see a section here which says on my Mac. Click to show it, then right click to add box to the letters it. Call it something like old Gmail 2008-2014. Now you can select your old Gmails mainly Gmail Inbox and sent boxes and drag them to this mailbox on my Mac (folder). If you move hundreds or thousands of emails, here could be a delay before they appear in the new location, so don't panic.

Note: Many users choose simply to archive old emails, but do in Gmail, still continues to them on the server, if you're not reduce used storage space.

  • Why my email get directly downloaded to "deleted messages", not inbox?

I checked my settings and nothing says to download in a deleted messages folder. and besides, what is a deleted message? When I delete an email it goes into the trash, not the deleted messages. I checked between my laptop and home computer and the parameters are the same, so I'm confused why the computer has problems. I just need to redownload the Thunderbird? Thank you

    you have a phone?

It looks like deleted an IMAP folder (Trash is a Thunderbird convention).

I'm guessing that your mail is to be downloaded to a phone or other device and deleted on the server. The account you have with deleted folder is an IMAP account and synchronize deleted mail because it is where to put the other device.

  • Impossible to delete my account gmail of the CT

I'm trying to delete my account gmail since the latest version of Thunderbird. I go to tools/account selection, select it, go in manage identities, but Delete and Set Default vuttons button are disabled. How can I delete?

If you try to delete an ACCOUNT I'm not sure what you do with managing identities.

    Go to tools-account settings
    Select the account
    Then stocks / delete account

If there is no message for this account that you want to keep, move them to a folder under local folders before you delete the account. Any message associated with a deleted account will disappear with the account unless that settled first in local folders.

It must be something IMAP because there is no option under settings server settings for the account on my pop accounts

  • Why will not erase the deleted messages in Thunderbird in FACT?

This problem does not exist on my other computer or my phone when I delete imap messages, but when I delete this computer, even if it appears in the Trash of Thunderbird folder on this computer, it is not actually go in webmail or on any other device. Any ideas? Thank you.

Re: when I delete emails from Thunderbird on the computer in question, they appear in the trash on this computer, but they do not actually delete from the server, they remain in the original folder (Inbox, sent).

    Quote:
It is ideal for a message erased on an IMAP account or visible in webmail or other e-mail clients. Deleting a message just sets a flag, and it's the interface chart user what to do when there is a message when this flag is set. However, once Thunderbird compact (expurgated) this folder, the deleted message shouldn't be visible more webmail or any mail client, because it has been deleted physically.

IMAP accounts offer several options to delete messages that are not available in the accounts pop tools-> account-> server settings settings-> "when I delete a message" a choice for "Move to trash", "Mark as deleted" and "withdraw immediately".
    end of quote.

More information about the different methods are detailed on the link:

If you right-click on the eg: Inbox folder and select "compact", this should eliminate the traces of the deleted messages.

to compact a file: right-click on a folder and select "compact".

to compact all folders: file > Compact folders

you set up the auto strike?
Tools-> account settings-> server to select imap e-mail account settings: clean up ("Expunge") Inbox on exit that compress the Inbox folder when you exit Thunderbird. If you check 'Empty trash on exit' will also empty and compact the deleted items folder when you quit.
