Licensing problem possible, what is possible?

I have an older computer runnung winxp that I want to run windows 7 or 8 on for a year or two.

After this period, I want to build another computer, install the Windows 7 or 8 on it, that I have installed on the old computer, and then return the old computer to XP.

Is this possible?

I'm sure that the OEM versions are only for one computer and once it is used on a certain generation, it cannot be transferred to another computer. What should I do/buy?

OK on the win7. Apparently, I know because I read about it, but I mostly read about win8. So far, I can't find a retail version of win8 to sell. I can't find are OEM versions. I have included win7 really to cover the basics on the issue. In case there is some licensing issues, I was not aware of.

So, I tried to figure out if it's really feasible. You say that the commercial version of 7 is very good for that, thank you. What about win8 so? Is a commercial version of it available?

answers to the rest:

Yes.

Not yet, but I am aware that I must examine the question more far.

Yes.

  • IOError in IE but not in Firefox (problem possible crossdomain.xml)

    Yesterday I debugged If all goes well a problem that happens for our application in Internet Explorer but not in Firefox.

    This has to do with access to remote content from a separate domain.

    In all aspects, it SEEMS to be a problem of crossdomain.xml, but the fact that this arrises only problem in IE is what prompted me to post here.

    We have a solution in progress (in the bureaucratically speaking), but I want to check here.

    Our application is the field of "a.domain".

    It access a file xml on 'b.domain/xml/ '.

    And finally (this is the tricky part) it also accesses an xml file to "b.domain/forwardingPath/" which is actually transmitted to the 'c.domain/xml/ '.

    The crossdomain.xml is located at "b.domain/crossdomain.xml".

    The application of "b.domain/xml/anXMLFile.xml" works without any problem.

    The demand for the 'b.domain/forwardingPath/anotherXMLFile.xml' exists in Firefox but not in IE (remember, ACTUAL demand is sent to "c.domain/xml/anotherXMLFile.xml").

    In Internet Explorer, I get an IOError.

    I think that we need a proper crossdomain.xml file, also located in the "c.domain/crossdomain.xml" and put in this request.  I want to confirm is whether this interpretation is correct.  I'm not at all a person on the server side.  It's all of the elves and fairies for me.  And then finally, why the hell is this inconsistent behavior between IE and Firefox?  The version of flash player Firefox violates its own safety standards?

    I swap this in the stack overflow.  field-xml-issue http://StackOverflow.com/questions/7395931/ioError-in-IE-but-not-in-Firefox-possible-Cross

    I have ping our developers on this subject and this is what they have to say:

    "We did some work for the plugin around redirects andhence the correct behavior on Firefox.

    As far as I KNOW, on IE we don't get the redirection messages and may not participate in the decision-making process of security during redirection scenarios. This behavior is beyond our control.

    There is a workaround solution described in the AS3docs here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/system/LoaderCont ext.html #checkPolicyFile

    Here's the relevant paragraph:

    Be careful with checkPolicyFile if you are downloading anobject from a URL that can use HTTP redirects on the server side. Arealways policy files comes from the corresponding initial URL that you specify inURLRequest.url. If the final object comes from a different URL because of the HTTPredirects, the initially downloaded policy files might not applicableto the of the object's final URL, which is the URL that matters in security decisions. If you are in this situation, you can examine the value of ofLoaderInfo.url after receiving an orEvent.COMPLETE ProgressEvent.PROGRESS event, which tells you the final URL of the object. Then call the method theSecurity.loadPolicyFile () with a URL based on the object URL policy file ' sfinal. Then query the value of LoaderInfo.childAllowsParent until it becomes true. »

  • Qosmio F20 - display problem, driver problem-possible

    Good afternoon

    I am in possession of a portable type Qosmio F20, which belongs to a friend. She told me that the screen went all the matrix as so that it was just empty. She claims not to have installed any software or updates recently.

    When turned on, the Qosmio logo on black background appears, then it appears a black screen with a lot of white lines vertically downwards. He then referred to the Windows XP logo, but this time with green lines appearing vertically down the screen, a little style of the matrix, I guess! After that, the screen is completely empty and the laptop will recharge itself, or occasionally I hear it start windows.

    I can enter in safe mode and discovers everything fine. If I uninstall the driver, it works very well and boots as normal, then invites me for a display driver. As soon as I install the driver that I downloaded from the site Web of Toshiba (NVIDIA GeForce Go 6600) and reboot, the same problem occurs. If I install the driver, and then select do not restart, it's ok. But as soon as I go to display settings and try and change anything, the screen turns off instantly again.

    I tried to roll back to an older driver that has been dated to 29/08/2005 v7.8.9.2, but still the same problem.

    Can anyone suggest a possible solution for this? Or is there a problem with this I don't know? The operating system is Windows XP Media Center SP2. He worked very well until yesterday morning apparently.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

    It's certainly a bad operation of the equipment and I'm sure that the graphics card is defective. The warranty is still valid?

  • vsscanf problem: possible BUG?

    Hi guys,.

    I've lived a strange effect, and if I didn't have (to be confirmed) error, a problem inside the vsscanf function and, possibly, the scanf, sscanf family...

    In fact, to summarize the context, I did a few line of code to read from a file where data is written in ASCII.

    10 columns, 1 will receive an integer 'index', 9 columns remaining will receive some "analog" value with 3 or 6 digits.

    Here are the 3 extracted lines of the file

    000007 ~ 0.000280 ~ 0.020 ~-148.535 ~ 149.590 ~ 0,124 ~ 0,180 ~ 7.671 ~ 38.356 ~ 0,170
    000008 ~ 0.000320 ~ 0.020 ~-148.535 ~ 149.590 ~ 0,124 ~ 0,180 ~ 7.671 ~ 38.356 ~ 0,170
    000009 ~ 0.000360 ~ 0,023 ~-148.535 ~ 149.590 ~ 0,149 ~ 0.139 ~ 7.721 ~ 38.606 ~ 0,170 (where ~ is the tank of tab: '\t')

    To get a file quite easily modifiable, I kept the number of digits in the 1st field constant, to be always the same number of digits (here 6)... This is why in this case, we have 5 zeros before.

    The problem is ALWAYS the same:

    When I at least 1 zero 1 character of the line (for example 000008 but also 0124824 or 001542 but NOT 100020 or 106430)

    AND

    The 1st field include the figure: 8 or 9 and only these numbers (for example 000008 but not 000007)

    THEN, my 1st converted analog value (double1 in the code) in the next argument will be to float the 1st field value:

    double1 will receive 0.000280 in the analysis of the 1st line, it is normal.

    double1 will receive 8.0000 and 9.0000 for the last 2 lines extracted from the file. It is NOT normal at all

    Of course, it is always used of the same service, same format string, I also checked the data before the vsscanf (string Templine) and the return of the vsscanf are still 10 and that's right, the number of the parameter analyzed.

    Is someone have already experienced somethings like that?

    Is anyone able to reproduce this problem?

    Is someone with some sort of explanation, or everything just detected a possible error in my code.

    Any help is welcome

    Thanks in advance.

    Damien Hoyen

    Now, I have used the following code:

    int LineIndex;

    Double double1, or 2, double3 - to - double9;

    ReadLineFromFile (FileHandle,"%i\t%lf\t%lf\t%lf\t%lf\t%lf\t%lf\t%lf\t%lf\t%lf",&LineIndex,
    & double1,
    & or 2,
    & double3,
    & double4,

    & double5,
    & double6,
    & double7,
    & double8,

    & double9};

    with:

    int ReadLineFromFile (int FileHandle, char * FmtStr,...)
    {

    TempLine char [1024];
    int Status;

    start multi arg
    va_list args;
    va_start (args, FmtStr);

    Check the validity of the FmtStr
    assert (FmtStr! = NULL);

    Memset (TempLine, 0, 1024);

    Read line
    Status = ReadLine (descriptor file, TempLine, (1023));
    Parse

    Status = vsscanf (TempLine, FmtStr, args);

    va_end (args);
    Return (Status);
    }

    a catch of jr_2005.

    I will be his response: using %d in the format string always a decimal number, while %i tries to find the base of the number and bed octal if it starts with 0.

    (I don't have never seen anything so flawed by specifying an octal number by adding only a 0, as if people ever add a 0 to the decimal numbers... it's just another screw up in the long list of why C is one of the worst programming language ever invented.)

  • PSE 14 license downgrade possible?

    Hello

  • NETWORK ADAPTER PROBLEMS, POSSIBLY CAUSED BY UPDATE VISTA - is SPIRITX there?

    My problem seems to be identical to a previous poster:

    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/vistahardware/thread/f0871a34-680C-4607-9a88-8cefffe53a95

    My laptop worked fine. Reboot to sleep this AM and cannot connect to the internet (i.e. network hardware doesn't work properly). It may be a windows update (I'm on Vista 32 bit).

    I too have the same error messages (to ensure that IP connections are checked (they are) or it is a hardware/driver). There is no fault of network - I have two other computers accessing the internet via my WiFi OK.

    I tried the solution posted by SPIRITX but I don't know what network devices that you want to uninstall. I don't have listed NETWORK or WIFI card. I have the following:

    Intel (r) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
    Intel (r) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection - WinpkFilter Miniport
    Marvell Yukon 88E8039 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller
    Marvell Yukon 88E8039 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller - Miniport WinpkFilter
    Miniport Wan (IP) - Miniport of WinpkFilter
    Wide area network (IPv6) - WinpkFilter Miniport WAN Miniport
    Miniport Wan (Network Monitor) - Miniport of WinpkFilter

    NOTE: These adapters with the '-Miniport WinpkFilter' entry are the problem those apparently showing an exclamation mark next to them.

    I tried restoring but it does not work.

    SPIRITX posted the following solution to the original problem, but uninstall that my list of network cards?

    You can try these:

    Panel of configuration-Device Manager - network - right CLICK on the TWO network (NIC) cards and WiFi in turn
    to UNINSTALL - after that the two have gone - RESTART rebuild your piles of pilot.

    Then - close all regular programs

    Start command - in the search box type-

    at the top of the list to find COMMAND - CLICK RIGHT to it - RUN AS ADMIN

    Type the following commands (or copy and paste one at a time), each followed by pressing on enter.

    ipconfig/flushdns

    nbtstat-r

    nbtstat - RR

    netsh int Reinitialis

    netsh int ip reset

    netsh winsock reset

    RESET

    That resets your TCP/IP stack

    Maybe SPIRTX is out there in the ether somewhere and can offer advice.

    No further response received, but does not solve the problem, so to help others...

    I went to:

    Network and sharing Center

    Network connections

    r / clicked on WiFi network

    Properties

    unchecked and uninstalled the WinpkFilter Miniport drivers in this list.

    Restarted

    It seemed to do. The uninstals worked from here rather than by the Device Manager - don't ask me why. I am also doing this from memory so I hope I have listed all the steps - maybe the pro was able to confirm.

    tested with a ping from google from the command line

    then connected to my network as usual that connected OK.

    He did dirty upo my Norton 360 I had to reinstall it again, but it worked OK.

    Initially, I have a problem that I caused by a virus Norton had found and quarantined on my PC which coincided with the problem, but I do not know now.

    I hope this helps someone else.

    I can't add anything else I fear then good luck.

  • User account problem, possible corrupt catalog?

    We use OBIEE 11 G. There is a user who is having a problem when it connects in the production environment. Access has not changed. Its access is the same in our DEV and TST but no problem in these two environments. He is able to sign with success in production. However, the catalog link is not available in the header of the world. It is also able to create a new analysis, because it isn't even an option for the new menu drop-down. If the existing analyses are open, there are strange icons display in the results. The environment is just strange behavior for him.

    This would be a question of damage for the user catalog? No one has contacted us, to have a similar problem. I don't know what to look into because I checked his right of access and everything looks good in our DEV and TST.

    Thank you

    Dara

    Remove the user from catalog userfolder and ask then to connect again and see how it goes
