  Try the steps below to reinstall the calendar, then check:

  (a) move to the Start screen. Click on store of tile to open Store.

  (b) once the store is open, under the spotlight, you can see the apps. Click on had apps? Tile to display the complete list of the applications provided with Windows 8.

  (c) click or tap the application you want to install. This action will open the details page, where you can see the features, the release notes and comments.

  (d) on the left (on the page of details) pane, you will see install button. Click install to begin the installation of the application. You're done!

  Thanks for the suggestion. I solved my problem differently... and for some reason that I have not seen the options you describe in your instructions.

  If you have removed Photos for Mac, it can only be reinstalled by reinstalling the system.

  Start the recovery partition and reinstall it on top of your current system.  See the text of this help: OS X: on OS X Recovery

  But are you sure that you have removed Photos for Mac?  It is specially protected, it seems unlikely that you could remove it.  Maybe you remove iPhoto?

  To reinstall them open iPhoto purchases tab to the AppStore and reinstall from there.

  I understand that you do not see your calendars on your iPhone. Let's see if we can understand what is happening.

  The question you are asking is difficult to answer because I don't have much information to go. It could be that calendar events were not deleted and just not to run.
