Delete the Google search box?

Is it possible to remove the search google the default setting of the screen box? Defeats the purpose of having a display high zoot so a lot of these pixels are reserved for the search box on each page?

I found out how to remove it! Find the widget which is g w / the blue. Then select it & click on disable. He told me that some other widgets may misbehave, but I had no problem with everything I use. I hope this has been helpful!

  • Firefox on the laptop of my wife lost the black bar that displays maps, Gmail etc. Now at the top of the screen there is an empty bar, triple height, with just the Google search box entry. How can I get that back? Or is it a question for Google?

When I open Firefox there is a black bar, sometimes vertical, sometimes horizontal, in the upper part, with links to maps, Gmail etc. When I opened Gmail the same links are listed at the top of the screen, just under the tabs. In my wife's cell phone, it appears in the Firefox splash screen, but not in the form of Gmail. In the top of the screen is an extra-large gray bar with just one Google search box entry. I think that I fixed it. I had my Google homepage.
There is a blue icon of Google in the Firefox toolbar, and when I clicked it activates the cursor. If you right click on the blue icon, you will see an address of Google with a suffix of gibberish. I pasted everything as my homepage, and now the cursor is activated when I open Firefox.

The search bar just happens to have Google as default search engine.

    1. Click on the button Add to Firefox on the next page.

    2. Check "Make the current search engine", then click on the Add button.
    3. You can always switch to another search engine by clicking on the icon on the left side of the search bar.

  • How to bring back the feature Fall alphabetical down from my previous research in the center of the Mozilla Firefox Start Page Google search box?

In the afternoon of August 24, I lost a feature on my Start Page of Mozilla Firefox and I can't understand how to get it back. It is the Google search box in the middle of the page. Previously, when I want to do a search, for example Amazon, I must type the letter 'A', and because I had typed "Amazon" in this area of research before, a drop down menu alphabetical would come with "Amazon" in it. I could then click on this word without having to type the rest of it. This option no longer works.

I did an update of Adobe Reader that Friday morning, so I thought that maybe why it happened. I did a system restore, and brings the system back to Tuesday, August 21. That did not help.

I ran CCleaner and cleaned the registry also. Oddly enough, I found that just after that I have this and then open a Mozilla Firefox Start Page, the alphabetical drop-down list feature is back in the center of the search for once, bar a single search. After that he went again. I'm going in and do just CCleaner (no cleaning required registry) and the same thing happens... the functionality is there for a search only.

I went and made sure all my Add-ons/Plug-ins are up-to-date. I also ran a full scan of the system, but no problem came.

I am computer illiterate, so please bear with me. I don't know if the things that I tried would have helped or not.

    I have Windows 7 and Firefox 15.0.1

I appreciate any help you can provide.

It worked! I went in "Troubleshooting information" and click on "Reset Firefox" that solved the problem. Thank you very much.

  • When I open a tab and start typing a URL in the address bar, my goal is switched to the google search field while I type.

When I open a new tab in Firefox, usually the first thing I do is start typing a URL in the address bar to the new tab (normally that uses AutoComplete to sites that I visit a lot). The new tab usually displays a google search page which is fine. It's there if I need it.

Lately, however, has changed the behavior of firefox when I open a new tab. After that I opened a new tab, my goal is taken from the address bar in the google search box. I mean not the Firefox search box either. I mean the search box on the google page. This occurs after I already started typing if I get the first letter or 2 of what I type in the search box, while the rest began to appear in the google search box. When I type a URL I want in the address bar. Not in the search box.

On reflection, I think that there are a few extensions that try to block or reverse this behavior of the Google search page. If you check your extensions, are one of them suddenly disabled or missing?

You can open the page modules using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then check down to the disabled extensions.

  • When I click on firefox, I get a page that does not show my google search box, how do I access it?

There is a red page in the way of the google search box.
How can I get rid of the Red page and just go to the google search box?

If you enter in the address bar on: Home who will open the homepage with the google search bar in the center of it.

If that has a red in front of her box please take a screenshot of it and post it n your next message

If the page looks ok then set it as your normal homepage as it is explained in this article:
