delete the key

My delete key is upward. It is the removal of the characters in the wrong direction. So when I push it, it deletes characters to the right of the cursor, not the left as it is supposed to. I did restart and still have the problem. Any ideas on fixing this?

Unless Mac OS works different from Windows, that's how the delete key is supposed to work. If you want to get rid of the character before the insertion point, and then you use the BACKSPACE key.

You shouldn't go around deleting keys. Why do you really want to delete this key? What program the key belongs? Uninstall the program only removes the key? Otherwise, try to uninstall it in safe mode, or go to the manufacturer's website to see if they have a problem. They have a tool to remove the application. If the program has recently been installed you can also use system restore to remove it. Thank you, Jeremy M - Support Engineer

Anyone else seeing this or know of a way to 'delete' clear the selection. Keyboard shortcuts do not seem to allow the 'delete' key be used at all. Any help much appreciated.

  • Cannot delete the system Keychain key

I have a bit of a problem to remove the keys (the keys) in the Keychain system on my iMac. Here's what happens:

    1. I go to Keychain Access and select system in the keychains list.
    2. I have unlock keychain using my admin password (the icon will change from locked to unlocked).
    3. I click on the key that I want to remove and select Remove "the key I want to delete.
    4. I get a box that says "Keychain Access tries to change the Keychain system, type your password to allow this." Then I do.
    5. I get a box that says: "are you sure you want to remove"the key I want to delete"in the system keychain? I click 'delete '.
    6. I get a box that says "an error occurred when deleting"the key I want to remove"UNIX [operation not permitted].

I'm not able to change the information in one of the keys to the system, nor am I able to add new keys to the system keychain. My Keychain system contains 20 items - who are all the passwords either WiFis, passwords to Machines for time (which is what I want to delete) and a password to the guest account application. That being said, I would have no problem 'reset' the system keychain to default (empty) condition.

I also have a MacBook, which does not exhibit this problem. That is to say that I can freely edit, delete and create keys in the system keychain. I followed the instructions here to back up the system keychain to my MacBook and install it on the iMac, but get an error message saying 'Operation not permitted '.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

  • Cannot delete the registry key

I use Vista as an administrator.  I would like to delete the following: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USBSTOR\Disk & Ven_RIM & Prod_BlackBerry_SD & Rev_0003.  I right-click and click on delete.  I wonder I want to permantently delete the key and subkeys, click Yes.  I get a message saying ' cannot delete the disk & Ven_RIM & Prod_BlackBerry_SD & Rev_0003: error while deleting key.»

I'm with the right button and go to permissions.  I try to change the permissions for everyone and the OWNER RIGHTS to full control.  I get the message saying "cannot save changes to permissions on disk & Ven_RIM & Prod_BlackBerry_SD & Rev_0003.  Access is denied. »

  • Remove the key only to eject the dvd, they will not delete

I have a Samsung 700 PC series laptop with a Matshita UJ8A7AS drive. I have informed keyboard option, it has Win7 home premium 64 bit.  The DELETE key was 2 options, DELETE the key worked to remove items highlighted or selected. In the text, he would remove characters to the right of the Courvite. By pressing keys Fn and delete entire would eject the disc of the power optical drive slot. NOW it will only eject function, as if using the Fn + delete key combination.  The Fn key does not stick. This works for all the other key combos.  I have all the updates. I lived integrated help and support, convenience stores, several research and MS Knowledge Base online. I have not knowingly changed anything. Any suggestions?

This isn't something that Windows can help you to, the implementation of functions Fn on the abstract material level.  Windows operating system doesn't 'see' this key (indeed this Fn button is not to dismiss the screensaver).

Most likely, there is some type of "Fn Lock" that has been activated.  But you really want to contact Samsung directly to find out how to disable or to work with her.  The controls/options so that it will apply only to Samsung and is not part of Windows.

  • Cannot delete the HP Photosmart C3180 and port DOT4USB drivers

I deleted the icon of the printer and the bestI software possible.  but I still have the DOT4USB port, but no printer icon. Ineed to remove the portand drivers. I have now an a909g hp 8500, and the new tests diagnostic shows the HP Photosmart C3180 as one of the printers on a USB port. This is not true.

I'm a software developer, and computer repair guy and I took a class years on writing ActiveX/OLE controls, so I don't mind editing the registry and delete the files.  I need steps for pub to remove the vestigesof the c3180.  This software is a pain in the neck. easiest way to uninstallis to reinstall windows from scratch, I know, but I have a lot of valuable files.

I don't want to miss all the pieces. the drivers are not my skills more.

I got it by using a regedit file that looked like below.

someone else will be different because the material of the port will be different, so you should not use this exact one.

I suggest you rather that do [windows [logo-key indicator] r regedit [Enter]

Search for the following text (not nessarily just a string):

Find "HP Photosmart C31" partial text and delete the entries that you find

Search text "DOT4USB" and delete the entries you find, but make sure that you do not delete the keys to category of port

You can search "DOT4" and carefully remove the subentries that apply only to the C3100 series.  You probably already have these above.

reset.  You must, because these drivers are still loaded and these inscriptions will be back unless you restart now that you have deleted entries.

You can alsodocument them to change, copy the name of the key, then paste into notepad ++ and save it as a .reg with Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 header file

I don't have my key code for windows (registration card was not with the computer when I bought it).  My carrier apparently deleted the key during my computer repair code.  My retailer where I purchased the computer didn't either.  How can I retrieve my key code number?

However, you can also get it by running the Belarc Advisor or the Magic Jellybean Key Finder.

I have problems with a soft (git) suspended when trying to update a password in my keychain on El Capitan, so I went in the ring to try to remove this password manually so that I would be again prompted to enter the next time that I used this application. I am able to copy the password from the keychain, but if I try to delete the keychain, I have a rotation of death beach ball and force quit keychain. And read the passwords (as evidenced by a successful copy) works very well. She is simply trying to update the keychain dangling Keychain with the rotation of death beach ball.

  • Delete the partition backup - install WIN media with key?

    Hello!

My acer backup partition is removed. However, I backed up the key from the BIOS before you remove it. Can I download ISO 10 win from Microsoft and install it with the same key?

If this is not the case, how do around him? I have a legitimate key/purchase, but the system partition backup original is deleted.

Thanks for the update. Looks like you will have to re - install windows 8.1 first using the links I gave you.  Good luck.
