Delete the "Uninstall" in Windows, without performing the automatic Windows Update. ?

Not the update of folders and files, but only the uninstall files. ?

In addition, once you have sauvegardeent patches, you can use CCleaner to delete:

CCleaner
http://www.Piriform.com/CCleaner

CCleaner is a powerful utility for cleaning of temporary files and caches; There's also a section to start to control what programs start when you start Windows (although I use of Windows Sysinternals Autoruns).

I don't recommend that you use the registry cleaning section of CCleaner or any registry cleaning program (free or commercial) in all circumstances; in my opinion, they are a (serious) problem ticking.

I hope this helps.

  • Get the error Code 'WindowsUpdate_8E5E03FB' 'WindowsUpdates_dt000' when you try to download recommended update using the automatic settings 'updates '.

I just noticed today, pronouncing the 'permission' to Windows to download and install, it is recommended to update it tries to download the update, hit 11% downloaded and then shows the dialog window "update failed", asking me to "Try Again", etc. etc. I googled the error exactly as stated above, and it takes to me an article 'A' answer the Question which recommends a bunch of steps that I have not the first clue of what they mean, or what they will do. I used the option "Microsoft Fix It" after a search, in an attempt to reset the Windows Update settings, but I don't know if it's working or not, although clearly it did nothing to help in the installation of this download. By examining the log of the updates installed, I am able to receive and install other updates, however, it is with a update I see several attempts in the last days to install, and each of them ended in failure.

When we look at the site of Question answer, other than to check to ensure the update is, indeed, the Automatic value, that it is in accordance with the instructions given that's where I get lost. The following suggestion is something to do with the "C:\windows\system32\catroot" folder, I've never even heard of, and am more than a little reluctant to go messing around with this stuff. Can any that illuminate what he done, or point me in a direction to a response that is written in 'English' for those of us without much experience of computer programming? • Quicken uninstalled after Windows Update

After running Windows Update and install the updates, I discovered that Quicken software I had installed and used on my PC has been uninstalled.

My OS is Windows Vista Premium
After installing updates with Windows Update I couldn't see Quicken to control panel > programs
    The Quicken desktop icon disappeared
Quicken has been removed from the start menu
My Quicken data and some (but not all) of the program (x 86) files \Quicken files were still intact

I installed 15 updated 11/1 and 17 updates 31/10. Many have been associated with MS Office, but a few were related to Windows Vista.

Is this behavior (Programs uninstall) a bug in Windows Update?

I would like to avoid that from happening. Any suggestions on how to prevent?

    Hi sshostek,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers community.

This behavior is not a bug in Windows Update.

Download Quicken manually and install it.

To avoid this kind of behavior try to install the updates in clean boot mode.

Follow the steps to enter boot mode:

    1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

    2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.

    3. under Selective startup, clear the Load Startup items check box.

    4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.

    5. click on OK.

    6. When you are prompted, click on restart.

    7. try to update your computer now.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796 . In addition, refer to the section on how to restore your computer to a Normal startup mode

    Hope this information is useful.

Let me know if it worked.

  • Delete the automatic backup files in Windows Vista Home Edition!

    Hello

I bought a new HP Pavilion pc six months back... I have the disk hard of 320 GB (hitachi)... what I have copy on my hard drive, everything becomes backup without my knowledge...
my space on the hard disk is dripping... for example: I have a lot of movies on my hard drive for about 50 GB, but I lost about 100 GB that means backup took place...
now I want to delete these backup files to free up my disc drive... pls help... I don't know where the backup files are get stored... pls help...
    regarding...
    Karthikeyan devalla.

    Karthikeyan Devalla,
Here are the instructions to remove some of the restore points using disk cleanup.  Your system is configured to record everything automatically on your computer at periodic points so if you need to restore your system files will be there.  But sometimes, you get more restore points that you want or need and he can eat a lot of disk space.  Here's how to control this.

You can use Disk Cleanup to remove points of restoration and the free space on the hard disk on your computer.

Disk removes the cleanup all but the last restore point on your computer. In some editions of Windows Vista, restore points can include previous versions of files. Previous versions are also deleted.

    1. open Disk Cleanup by clicking the Start button, tap all programs, accessories, click System Tools, and then click Disk Cleanup.

    2. in the Disk Cleanup Options dialog box, click files from all users on this computer.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3. If prompted, select the drive you want to clean, and then click OK.

    4. click the other Options tab.

    5. under System Restore and shadow copies, click Clean up, and then, in the confirmation dialog box, click on delete.

    6. If you want to continue using disk cleanup for other drives on your computer, click the Disk Cleanup tab. To quit Disk Cleanup, click Cancel.

Let us know if this was helpful, or if you need more information.

    rivercitylady,
Usually with the code 646 error, if you download the update and install it manually that will fix the problem.
Go to the Microsoft Download Center and search for the number of the update has failed.  Download on your PC, then run it from there. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Is it possible to UN-delete the AAMEE packages updates?

    Hello

After creating a Creative Suite CS5.5/6 package with JEAN (updates removed in the options), is possible to UN-delete updates once the package is deployed on the machines by editing a file .plist or similar (Mac in this case)?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

Yes it is possible. I don't know why you created packages with updates off, I guess it is suitable at the time, is the reason why I raise this question. With the help of the Enterprise IT tool RUM (Remote Update Manager) you can continue to keep the updates turned off so the customer is not manually try to bring back but rather does that when you send a command to the customers. The order will be issued to clients through a part like SCCM, Casper, Alteris 3rd deployment tool. In this way, they are installed as administrator and only on your designated point. It might not be attractive, but I wanted to make you aware of it. The enterprise deployment guide will give you more information about the required overide file to change the update options and RUM are in Adobe Labs http://labs-staging.macromedia.com/technologies/aameetools/

  • my pc deleted after that recent windows update (September 8, 2011)

Im running a pc using windows xp pro (if I'm not wrong) and this is my work pc so I really need your urgent assistance.

My problem is that yesterday after completing my work I left it open and when I tried to close it later that evening, I saw there is an automatic update waiting to be installed. So as usual, I have chosen to stop after update install & let it do its work. The next day, when I turn on the pc all seems ok, but after the window logo download page I have to wait for about 1/2 hour before the appearance of my newspaper in the console. After entering my password the console disappear and nothing on the screen. The only thing that's on the screen is my wallpaper. There is no taskbar, no start menu, no desktop items, nothing. I can access the Task Manager by pressing ctrl + alt + del, but same thing, it took me like ages before it appears, and I realized that there is no explorer.exe running. When I tried to run explorer.exe this message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. May not be the appropriate permissions for access you to them.

I tried rto run chkdsk via the cmd prompt and it detected there is a problem with the file system and ask me to run chkdsk /f. But I can only perform after a reboot, as it is said there are program using the volume. Yet once it would take me ages to wait for reboot start (I did it using Task Manager) at startup windows run the chkdsk command it t wen smoothly as there is no problem, but still the same problem happen where I have to wait an hour before the appearance of the console connection and after connection nothing is there.

I suspect it might occur due to the new update that microsoft will invite me to install. I don't know what update, now I just ask to install before shutting down. I don't know if it's a virus or something, but currently I am using trend micro internet security titanium & ad-aware and on my final analysis there is nothing major execpt for some cookies. Can someone guide me if I could go back to my pc or uninstall the updated windows install for me? If I am not mistaken my pc ever point backup restore & never all together. I can't afford to re - format or reinstall windows because all my file work & work related email (outlook) are in the pc.

    Help, please!

    Hey James,.

Thanks for the suggestion earlier, but none of these work for me. Ultimately I have back to the top of my old hdd to plunge into another pc, backup all data and reformat the entire hard drive.
Anyway thanks for the help & appreciate your response.
