  My Ultrabook Dell Inspiron 14z with windows 8 is about a year and I had no problem. However, since July 11, when my system updated automatically update critical windows my sound has not worked.   I apologise for the inconvenience. I ask you to disconnect the AC adapter and reboot the system. To reset, use a paper click or PIN to reset the system by inserting the sharp tip in the hole under the laptop reset security. Refer to the image below:

  

  NOTE: Resetting the system causes the unsaved data to be lost. The reset option resets the laptop or the operating system to factory settings. By pressing the button Reset turns off the system.

  It could be the inverter Board or the backlight itself on the way to the outside. Whatever it is, it is definitely a hardware problem and it will take a good repairman to fix. You can contact Dell and see what they would charge to fix this, just to see if it would be more cost-effective to buy a new laptop or have it repaired. Because it is 5 years since it is manufacturing, you can be better to save your pennies for a new :-(

  I'm sorry if my language is not good enough for you, but now I have a problem with my audio recording problem. I don't know how long this problem has come, but when the first time I bought it, it works perfectly. But now this problem appears.

  My internal speaker is good, but my microphone is not, I don't know which one is the internal mic. but no sound at all, I checked f12 ePSA and he works for speaker but microphone is not, I checked 'set microphone' but this is impossible because no noise only from MIC and I can't do enchanment for calibration of the room because my mic have a weak signal or no signal because no noise from him.

  Hello. You have chosen the right pair. Network of microphones is the internal mic. This is a pair of microphones located in the assembly of the webcam at the top of the display screen.

  

  Things that you can try are

  > Reinstall the audio driver IDT of the Inspiron 14z 5423 support page. When you arrive at this page, first select your operating system by clicking on the change OS selector:

  > If you have a program in your list of programs named Dell Webcam Central, open this program and find the microphone settings. Make sure that the microphone is not turned off.

  Can someone tell me how to disable "tap to click" on the touchpad of my laptop?

  I have a Dell Inspiron 1525, running Windows Vista.  It's the standard touchpad I mind, it has not been upgraded.

  Other forums have suggested to go to the control panel > hardware and sound > mouse, but once I'm there, I only "buttons," "Pointers," "Pointer Options" and "hardware".  There is no option to disable "Tap to click" referred to one of them.

  I've updated all the drivers - Windows tells me I have the latest version, if this doesn't fix the problem.

  My hands are too big to type without hitting the touchpad!  So frustrating.  I accidentally moved my slider three times during the composition of this post.  Someone help me please!  That's four times now.

  Under computer > C: > drivers > entry > R176423, I ran DPInst.  He installed the Dell Touchpad option in my taskbar to bottom left.  After the reboot, I was able to open a more in-depth version of my touchpad, where I could uncheck "Tap to click".  _ Yes!

  Reconstructions of Dell should be loaded in a particular order until the drivers are installed, that is to say the controllers then the drivers for the chipset and resolution etc. They are specific to this.

So went into a ghost of Dell image when the resolution was good on Win7, recovered files in windows/System32, which has old drivers. Does the update in graphic cards [Device Manager] driver and manually looked through above the files recovered from previous instal win7 and YES they charge this time.
  Oh what a relief to have a higher resolution. Experience had taught me how snappy Win8 is, I picked up a shortened bunch of ways to circumvent the operating system, and it is growing on me. WIN8 Pro works best on this old machine than its original Home XP and Win7.
