  The 'main' video chip is the Intel one - it's the only one who has a connection to your display board.  The AMD GPU is a co-processor - it can be used (chosen from the AMD Catalyst Control Panel) for the applications you want to use it.

  It CAN be made the default GPU - GPU from Intel's wired for this role.  By design, all of the video data through the Intel GPU (which is part of the central unit of system processing).

  I have an operating system running windows 8 pro on dell inspiron 3521. When I bought the camera, the problem was not visible up to 1 year, and then I installed "Tuneup utilities" for a scan and then uninstalled. Since then, I found annoying problem on my pc.
  

  Relatek HD audio was working fine but then it started showing good results, but the sound from the speaker is not and or if plugged headphones as well. PC not dettect not any problem on the sound while troubleshooting. The sign of the speaker on the status bar when clicked and increases the volume of it increases the volume, but the sound and color do not here as well.
  It does a strange thing when I trouble shoot using the sound properties and click 'TEST' test is fine, but I can't hear any sound good! and again when I click TEST on speaker, it says "this device is used by another application. Please close... "

  TuneUp utilities and similar programs usually don't serve to ruin a Windows Installer do it do more damage than good. Stories like yours are not uncommon with these programs. Back up all your data on an external hard drive. If you did a restore USB with your system can boot from to restore factory settings. TuneUp utilities may have ruined the Dell backup feature and the recovery and partition recovery so I advise to call Dell technical support and request a DVD of resettlement or recovery USB just in case. You can then try to restore the factory settings and if something goes wrong with the restoration use Dell support to clean install.

  my laptop is brand new. 1 week and I cannot get my Radeon 8730 M graphic card work. laptop model is Dell Inspiron 3521.   I tried to install the original driver from the dell support page. I tried with the pilots of the AMDs website. I have installed and uninstalled the drivers at least 10 times.   When I run the catalist of amd installation configuration shows that all the drivers and the software is correctly installed and up-to-date, but Device Manager shows something else.  also, I have absolutely no option available in the catalyst software.  my windows system note (index) is 1.0 due to the graphic performance.   any ideas?

  I formatted the partition on the witch my windows was installed. re-installed windows and all the drivers. I started with the AMD driver but I was disappointed. It still did not work. then I thought, maybe there some co-drivers with some chipset drivers, so I downloaded and installed all the drivers. including the Intel HD 4000 driver. I think it was one that has not been installed correctly and the Radeon card because of the witch did not work.   so if anyone else has this problem, don't forget to uninstall the driver amd and intel driver hd 4000 and then install again, it should solve the problem.

Audio keeps switching from left to right and sometimes works only on one side. Initially, I thought that it was a problem with my headphones but I tried with several headphones and still I have experienced the same problem. But the speakers of the laptop works very well.   If you use the latest Realtek driver (6.0.1.6788), you might want to try the old Realtek 6.0.1.6690. The former driver installation requires to remove the most recent in Device Manager and choose the delete files option.

  Hello, I recently bought the Dell laptop inspiron 3521. It comes with AMD Radeon HD M 8730. But it seems that the computer is not at all. Two video cards with drivers up to date.
  I tried with disable the generation in the video card, but when I do the pc starts using displayer Basic windows and it does not recognize one of the video cards.
  I tried with different drivers for the amd video card from dell and amd sites, but without success. I also tried switchable graphics and other options in the amd catalyst control center, but I have found no solution, either.
  There is also no option to disable or set prefferable video card in the BIOS settings.
  Is that what anyone has any other ideas how to solve this problem.

  You cannot disable the Intel GPU - this is the only one who has a link with the display panel.  The AMD GPU is simply a video coprocessor - it transmits data through the Intel GPU on its way to the display panel.

  Although there are some systems that allow you to select the video chip at the hardware level, is not one of them - the video system is fully controlled by software.  You select the AMD GPU on a per application basis.  The GPU from Intel is still the main - there is no way to change this.

  Look in your control panel - you should see the entries for these two video circuits.  If you do not, you have a driver problem.  If you do, then select the GPU to use with the Catalyst Control Center.  Note: there ARE some applications - including many games, especially older - that won't work with the AMD GPU because they are not written in support of switching graphics.  If this is the case, you may need an update or a paid upgrade to a new version of the game.
