Design of a Web site on the layers

I'm trying to deign one page website 100% width / height of 100%. In regards to the time 100% height is not available in Muse, I do it manually in the CSS after that I exported the Web site.

I have 6 layers, I have 6 sections of menu. The sections of the menu have the same name as the layers.

For example, the layer 'home' is the name of menu home, layer 'contact' is the name of the Contact menu.

I keep looking for a solution to the layers of trigger to hide on click/release and display only the layer with the same name.

Anchor points solution works but all layers are visible on the other.

If I was not clear enough, or if you have suggestions, comments, questions, feel free to post them.

Also, if it is not possible in Muse, I am happy to try coding CSS hollow

And it's so sloooow!

Photo galleries appear only after a long wait...

But I must say that the navigation is not so hard to imitate.

One of the causes of the long wait could be that although the links point to different URLS, the scripts behind the screens are probably downloading all the pictures initially. Is not a good approach in this situation. I think that it is better not to put all your material to display in a page, or even a widget!

Developers can create everything you ask. It is their goal and the challenge.

But as a designer, he must be careful with what you are trying to reach and what are the consequences on the outcome of the experiment. Muse is perhaps not able to create anything you might be visually wishing for, but it will keep you on a relatively safer track in design and construction technically your own Web site.

I'd take a peek at Photoshop or Illustrator.

Photoshop is a pixel based image editing program that is well suited for creating and editing digital images, especially photographs.

Illustrator is a vector program that is great if you want to create vector graphics based that you can scale up without loss of resolution, for example, a logo.

What you choose really depends on your needs and knowledge if you create bitmap images or vector.

  • Design of a Mobile Web site and the best Mobile detection Solution

Last week, I decided to create a mobile version of one of my Web sites. I thought it would be a relatively easy task, but I quickly realized there is more that meet the eye.

Without going into all the details (for example questions from the media, etc.), this is the strategy I ended up with...

    First step:

I used this script to detect a mobile device...

    < script type = "text/javascript" >

    If (screen.width < = 400) {}

    document.location = ' http://mobile.MYURL.com';

    }

    < /script >

I know that I could use the media queries or any number of other methods, but this one appeared to require the minimum of effort. For example, the media seems so complicated because I make sure I have the list of possible devices that can check out my Web site. The script above simply says, if the screen is small, view the mobile Web site. The downside is the person with the mobile device needs to have Javascript enabled, but very few people turn it off.

    Second step:

I designed a special website for the mobile device.

I could have created special CSS for each page to my Web site, but people don't want to read all the content I have on my Web site in any case, at least not on a mobile device. It was much easier to create a little site for mobile devices instead of make a huge CSS file to convert all my pages.

    ----------------------------------------------------------

Because there are so many options when you create a mobile Web site, I just wanted to see if everyone here thinks I did it the right way or would you recommend an alternative?

Also, I saw that he sent several times that I should include a link to the 'full version' of my site at the bottom of my mobile Web site. How I do that without creating an infinite loop that continues to send the visitor to the mobile version? In other words, when they click on 'full version' it will send them to the page that contains the script above, and this script will send their right to the mobile version.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice.

    All the best,

    Bill

Separate sites for the version complete mobile vs is the best method. Just synchronize the data dynamically from database. Depending on the complexity of your site, the setting is completely different for a mobile version. Much, much more than just a style some conditional css rules. Device for side detection Server allows to redirect mobile users to the mobile version, which is usually a completely different directory or same site... ie. m.example.com mobile and example.com for the version complete.

Similarly, you would use the reciprocal method of detecting device for side supported server to redirect anone who is NOT on a device to the full version if they visited the complete mobile URL from a web browser. You can use a cookie with detection on the server to allow the user to "switch" to the version side full and vice versa. Where if the cookie is not set and the device is mobile, then directly on the mobile device and display the button to switch to a comprehensive site that sets the cookie. Much of/and/of/ifelse/instructions if else going on there, but it can be done easily. I hope you get the point.

  • Design of a Web site to fit all resolutions

Hi all. I joined this forum in order to get a solution to the difficult situation... and I would appreciate greatly any help thrown my way!

I will here the explanation! (I'll try and keep it short and to-the-point)

I had essentially to create a Web site for all resolutions, as the thread title might suggest. I designed the layout in Photoshop CS3 with a resolution of 800 x 600. Here is the result of this design.

    http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/165/livedemoip.jpg

Everything has its own layer - each of the buttons, logo USA, main and void / nav etc.

I saw countless videos on the creation of a Web site to fit all resolutions, but they tend to start the whole design process in Dreamweaver. The same videos, I looked on the import slices of PS to DW renounce mention how to wear your designs so that they are able to be seen easily in all resolutions. So I find myself trying to combine these two elements to find the solution myself, which became very daunting to say the least.

I should say that my knowledge of Dreamweaver is basic, if that. Everything I've learned has been online tutorials and other during 15 hours solid info-digestion.

In my travels-e that I passed through terms such as divs, CSS and spacers, which no only I have understand. If I cut my layout and import it in DW and then I can set the page layout to fit 100% of the width of the screen, but it leaves me with some white areas ugly in design which I assume are the transparent braces at work? Here's what it looks like in Dreamweaver without the buttons...

    http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/2219/livedemoip3.jpg

I guess the core of my concern, where exactly is the best place to start is, given my ultimate goal?

I understand that this is not the thought of better explanation, but I've been all night trying to literally piece everything together and it seems that my motor functions begin to suffer for it!

    Thanks in advance!

    Here you go:

    http://www.Adobe.com/devnet/Dreamweaver/articles/dw_fw_css_pt1.html

The above tutorial explains how to make a Fireworks design and slice in Dreamweaver. You can replace "Fireworks" for "Photoshop" quite easily.

You will need to adapt the CSS/HTML for a "fluid" layout to achieve your goal.

If you don't mind, here are some tips from someone who has been to design and develop web interfaces for more than a decade:

Fluid width designs are almost always a terrible idea, that's why you don't see them not used very often in our days.

Navigation 'mystery', that you designed is a rookie mistake. You have abour four or five seconds to pass the point of your Web site to the user. If they can not immediately find the information they want, they hit the back button and leave. What makes them your mouse on each element of the Web to find the info they want are an idea really bad usability.

  • Completely lost, if we can design a Full web Site just by using Flex?

Guys, I'm not a web developer by any means. I learned that flex just enough to get a completed task that I needed.

Recently, I decided to have a website for myself. I started in dreamweaver and it is quite a steep learning curve from the ground.

I'm more comfortable in Flex as its very intuitive about how to do things. So my question is can I design an entire web site just using flex or should I do not think like that?

Also, is - anyone of you recommend a good place to get Flex, form of models. I did some googleing but seems the result come back as a Flash templates

Depends on how they have implemented the code and how the data are filled.  But, in most cases, that's right; in a flash file SWF is not indexed.

If you google SEO Flex or Flash SEO, you can find more information on this.  Ted Patrick had a few posts on this w / the Flex Directory application that was built.

He's not changing things from a SEO point of view, but I'll add that the model you're talking about is built in Flash 8; no Flex.

  • How to prevent the FF loading all Web sites using the HTTPS protocol

FF is trying to load initially all Web sites using the HTTPS protocol, including of mozilla.org. Then I get the error of no reliable connection of course. Mozilla .org is the "invalid security certificate" and "the issuer of the certificate is unknown." I tried to delete the file cert8.db as suggested elsewhere but that did not help. If there is an option for this somewhere, I can't find it. I have the latest version of FF and Win7 running. Thanks for the help.

There must be some sites that are still using a secure connection, as http://www.amazon.com/. If even a link to Amazon is redirected, you can check if you have an extension like HTTPS Everywhere.

For Mozilla sites, Yes, you establish a secure connection.

But you shouldn't get certificate errors! When you get this for virtually all secure sites, the problem is usually as follows:

    (1) error of date, time, or time zone who throw checks validity of the certificates of your system. Sometimes allowing to use a timesource on the internet, the computers can introduce this problem.

    (2) not be set up to work with your security software that intercepts and filter secure connections from Firefox. Products with this feature include Avast, BitDefender, ESET, Kaspersky; AVG has a shield search function which can cause this error on search sites.

    (3) malicious software on your system for the interception of secure connections.

    So... who is?

If you have any of these specific security products, which would be the first thing to check. We might be able to help with specific next steps based on what you have if you tell us.

Alternatively, you can examine the certificate to which Firefox is opposed to see if the issuer information pointing to the culprit. Take for example my test page:

    https://jeffersonscher.com/RES/jstest.php

You should see a section "I understand the risks" in the page. If you expand this section, you will find a button Add Exception. You don't need to complete the process of adding an exception (I suggest not adding one until we know that it is not a problem of malware), but you can use the dialog box to display the information that makes Firefox suspicious.

Click Add an Exception, and then view. If the view is not enabled, try first the button get certificate. Then in the certificate Viewer, refer to the section "issued by". What do you find here, or under the hierarchy of certificates? I have attached a screenshot for comparison of screen.

  • Single-pass does not work for Web sites after the last update of firefox

Single-pass does not work for Web sites after the last update of firefox. This works in IE and Chrome and it works under windows (when starting the computer), but not with any website in Firefox.

Firefox 30 spent some less commonly used "Always turned on" plugins "asking to activate. To check and change this to SimplePass, you can use the page modules. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click on Plugins. Then on the right, check the control on the right side of the SimplePass.

You may need to exit Firefox and start it again before it takes effect.

    A little luck?

  • All https: Web sites know the untrusted certificate errors and appears as the provider cert Digitalmarketresearchapps Pty Ltd. No virus found on my system.

I started all of a sudden the problem "untrusted connection" on earlier work https: Web sites with the "not provided any transmitter channel" as a reason. I tried all the proposed solutions and nothing works. I ran several programs antivirus and no viruses or malware detected. I don't have any such installed ESET suggested in the previous solutions. Display of certificates for the default sites shows that the provider in all cases is 'Digitalmarketresearchapps Pty Ltd'. Certificates are always a start date and an expiration of 2039. I think I picked up something that causes the problem, but as I said, none of my antivirus/malware programs are detecting anything.

I had this problem as well, and he ended up caused by the installation of the E-Rewards application notify. I had to uninstall and then restore my computer to an earlier time to fix the signer of the certificate again to "Thawte Consulting (Pty) Ltd". I contacted E-Rewards to let them know and ask why this is happening.

    Hi markehrmann,

I'll try from Firefox Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode. If you do not have the issue so that all your modules, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the guide to troubleshooting Extensions and themes and article troubleshooting issues with plugins like Flash or Java to solve common Firefox problems as well.

    Hope this helps!
