Design view displays styles

I just installed Dreamweaver CS3 and when I open a page to be edited, the code works, but design view is not any style. When I have preview in Firefox and IE, it has the style and looks great. If anyone has had this problem or know a fix?

Problem has been solved by going to view > display external files

    PHP pages are code only mode.

    To view on-site, you will need a test server:

  • locking in DESIGN view display the size from 100% to 75%

    I tried to change in preferences: would like to change the left upper area, MU icon, automatically default to the mode page 75% instead of 100%. Is this possible, thank you. Now, every time I change the page I have reset the default value of 100%.

    Unfortunately, you will need to change this manually.

  • Link to the CSS problem (in Design view)

    Hello expert Dreamweaver,

    In the CS3 Dreamweaver Design view is not recovering styles specified in a linked style sheet. Let me explain...

    I use an application in our office who relies on HTML (but does not use a standard web browser).

    I need to refer to style sheets linked using a variable as if;

    [#1 example]
    "< link href="{FILES_DIR}/path/css/stylesheet.css "rel ="stylesheet"type =" text/css"/ >

    The use of the variable "{FILES_DIR}" construction eliminates the need to hardcode a drive letter in the link which is preferable. Without "{FILES_DIR}", I have to hardcode the letter drive as follows;

    [#2 example]
    "< link href="file:///K|/additional-path-details/path/css/stylesheet.css "rel ="stylesheet"type =" text/css"->

    The two examples above give the same result in the application (the style sheet is found and its styles applied correctly).

    However, only with the #2 example is "Design Mode" Dreamweaver pick up and apply the style sheet. Dreamweaver cannot find the style sheet or apply styles with example #1.

    My question is how can I do Dreamweaver to understand and apply what means "{FILES_DIR}.

    Advice, tips or pointers would be appreciated...

    Hello Thierry,.

    You said:

    Quote:
    Have you looked into the sheets of styles 'DTC '? That may solve your problem.

    Darn good idea! It solves my problem insofar as I can now apply a design view-specific style sheet even if Dreamweaver does not include the path that I actually have the code in the document.

    It seems to work.

    For everyone interested by this I found that it was not easy to search healp DW for a phrase with a hyphen in it. I had to use this 'design time style sheets' instead. Here's the online version;

    Use design-TIME style sheets

    Thank you!

  • Design view does not display the applied styles

    Yesterday, this was not the case, but it is today. When I opened one of the sites to change some things on one of the page, I noticed that although the CSS styles have been applied to the police, the design view has been not to show it. If I saw in the browser or if I downloaded the page and look on the net everything was fine... but my view desing workspace would not show the style changes, I did. He would have the list of available styles, but that's all. I noticed that this is the case for all sites. I accidentally change something? What's the deal? Could really use your help.

    Is view > Style made > checked display Styles?

  • No style implemented in Design view

    What's happening (PCOC, HTML5) how Design view does not display the effects of the linked CSS files? Everything goes well in Live View mode and on a browser. I have changed a few settings for earlier, it was normal.

    I had to disable the display Styles, and then turn it on again. Everything returned to normal (or as normal as possible). Thank you, Jon.

  • New CS4 interface - disable styles in design view

    Trying to familiarize themselves with the CS4 - I use design mode without styles for years. I see the rendering of the view/style... How can I configure DW otherwise every time?

    Normally, Dreamweaver remembers this type of setting, but I just tested it and see that it returns automatically to display Styles whenever you raise. I had a quick look in the registry settings and nothing that controls this option is displayed. I'm sorry.

    The only thing I can suggest submitting a feature request via the official formAdobe.

  • Dream Weaver cc Design view problems why is completely different design of the live display view

    Why Why oh why oh why is the cc Design view completely different from live view - live mode view is good, but virtually nothing is editable. How the hell can Adobe market a web as wysiwyg design tool when design mode is terrible. I saw old messages regarding this versions in 2014 and 2015.

    I'm not completely illiterate code but I would change the drawings etc. without digging deeper into the code. It's 2016 I stopped using the ages of tables there are available to my creations, but it seems that all cram into a table is the only way to get a half-decent idea of what is happening in design mode. I use a Mac which probably didn't help, but in the interest of the essential may be easier not more difficult.

    If it is true that Dreamweaver is really only for kernel developers hard, they should say so and start promoting Muse or similar for people who don't want to spend hours crafting code in all the different possible options such java php etc to produce a well-designed functional Web site.

    Does anyone know if there is a solution to this

    Design view has always been horrible to show you the design of the site, but some things worse.

    It does not run scripts of any type and more advanced css is completely invisible to the it. Code errors will also break Design mode almost instantly. Make sure you're validating your code under file > validate > validate the current document (W3C) or going directly to the validator online at http://validateo.w3.org/nu. Pay close attention to any structural errors listed are those that make the Design view go nuts.

    For what it's worth, DW is not really a wysiwyg program in the strictest sense of the acronym, regardless of how many guys at Adobe marketing wanted to believe this claim. DW requires a solid knowledge of html, css and javascript to get the best out there for static sites. These days, we use floats CSS, margin, padding and display properties to build our page layouts. While the program comes with base layouts, you can click to start with, do not understand the desire of "why it works" quickly cause massive frustration levels.

    If you really don't want you your hands dirty with the code, or simply do not have the time to become familiar with the basics of html and css, Adobe Muse would probably be a better option for you.

    Here are some links that will help you to understand its relationship to format html and css, and I hope that allow you to make more sense to DW:

  • My page is displayed in Design view, in a single column?

    In Design view, my page is displayed in a single column, all the boxes of the AP are displayed on the other. In Live View mode, the page appears correctly. Also, if I find this page with a browser, yet once, it appears correctly, what's wrong with my mode of creation? Help :-)

    (1) the design mode is often a poor representation of what your page will look like

    (2) PA divs are not how to design modern web pages

    (3) If you want more help, you must show us your site, or at least to include the code - we can only guess.

  • .php files will not be displayed in Design view?

    Hello

    I am a fairly experienced dreamweaver user, using 3 years, but it's confusing to me. I've been using PHP includes my content for years, but all of a sudden when I secret my .html files to .php files I can't view in Design view, only the view code?

    Now, if I convert them to HTML it works fine... Someone knows how to fix this? Here is a screenshot btw:

    Choose Edition > Preferences. Select the File Types / editors. Remove php from the "open in code view:" box.

    Any help is appreciated as I am happy with what I have in Design view, but she is seen live that I publish...

    Thanks in advance

    Thanks for looking, I solved this problem. I had to do with the %'s image. When I changed that, everything fell into place.

  • Design mode display problem

    Hello

    Working with happiness in fashion Design with 10 HR and a moment to another, the design view has changed. The display of the fonts changed to a truncated style and return to the line disappeared.

    I tried restarting and then put it back and no chance to get rid of the issue.

    The output is very well and as planned, so I assume that is not the CSS. That I have not edited since eons anyway really should not therefore it anyway.

    This is the case on all my projects help - each with a different CSS - so it may not be the css unless HR did a comprehensive kind of strange changes behind the scenes without my knowledge.

    Any thoughts on how to get the design mode to view normally would be much appreciated,

    Thank you

    Tannis

    Check the zoom setting. It used to be on the toolbar near the police and style information. It may be more than 100% (used to be a problem with older versions and I did not have a more recent version to check if it's been fixed).

  • Problem with the design view in Dreamweaver CS5

    Hi all

    I'm having a problem with my creation mode on a page I created in Dreamweaver CS5.

    The files can be found here as well as a jpeg file showing the issue I'm having.

    http://www.siltd.co.UK/PRB/

    Everything was fine until I added the three classes:

    {.crproductsrightpanelheading}

    Width: 186px;

    top of the margin: 25px;

    background-image: url (.. / images/crproductsrightpanelheadingbg.jpg);

    background-repeat: no-repeat;

    background-position: left;

    padding-left: 28px;

    do-family: Arial, Helvetica, without serif.

    color: #FFF;

    do-size: 14px;

    line-height: 27px;

    float: left;

    Clear: right;

    }

    {.crproductsrightpanellist}

    Width: 199px;

    top of the margin: 5px;

    padding-left: 5px;

    float: left;

    overflow: auto;

    }

    .crproductsrightpanellist li {}

    do-family: Arial, Helvetica, without serif.

    color: #FFF;

    do-size: 12px;

    list-style-image: url (.. / images/crdash.jpg);

    line-height: 18px;

    list-style-position: inside;

    }

    Now, I can hardly see what is happening.

    It's good in Live View mode and also when published, but design view is like having a steering wheel towards the bottom of my pants... It's driving me crazy!

    What it looks like when published can be seen here:

    http://www.siltd.co.UK/new%20SI%20Site/crproducts.html

    Any help telling me where I went so wrong would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Run your pages through this validator and clean up any errors...

    http://validator.w3.org/

    For now, you have a large number of errors that need to be addressed, about 90 altogether.

    While some browsers allow to better interpereting what you wanted to do than others (IE being the absolute worst), DW is a maniac, especially in Design view. It is still displayed incorrectly in DW after you fix all the problems, after return and we can take a closer look.

  • Work on my page and everything that always says "design" view... whats up?

    I'm working on my Web page and learn as I go.  I find that I am constantly use to by clicking on the view code, because whenever I click on anything in "design view", all

    salient facts page and I cannot click on any individual div or images.  Y at - it a setting that I accidentally clicked on?  Also, I did a last adjustment of sizing for several divs

    on my page and now the "content" div appears below the div "sidebar" in Design view, but when the file is saved and downloaded, it appears properly in the browser.  It makes just yet

    more inconvenient for working on in Dreamweaver when things are not placed as they should be.  Here is a link to my site.  It's just a page of basic at this point.  Is there something in the code

    that could be causing these issues, or is it a setting in Dreamweaver itself that I should check on?  I appreciate the help.

    (Finally, since people are looking, if someone experienced developers see major flaws in the design of sites at this point or suggestions, I would definitely appreciate some comments, thank you VERY )

    Rick

    This will be the case when you are clicking an element with ' overflow: hidden ' applied.  To change the item, you must double-click, or click right and full item, select from the context menu.

    DW is - to take account of cases where an item with this style has a scroll function, preventing all of the content displayed in Design view.  When you double click, the content IS displayed, which distort the Design mode as expected, but you can now edit the content that may otherwise be hidden.
