Desktop HP-H8-1110: Card Reader H8-1110

Hello, I upgraded the OS from W7 to W8.1 and my card reader 15-1 has stopped working. I don't know if it was a coincidence or a compatibility problem with W8.1, whether, I bought a replacement card reader and thinks that I need a SATA cable and would appreciate help to advise me which cable I should i.e. 7 red pine series of card mother SATA hard drive HD Signal data cable, SERIAL ATA HARD DRIVE SIGNAL HD SATA DATA CABLE Serial ATA adapter SATA S - ATA cable data,... to connect the replacement card reader?

Thank you

Lin

According to the card reader that was purchased, I suspect it uses a connexionUSB header, and not SATA.  If the existing card reader is always connected to the motherboard, simply plug in a new USB empty header.  A picure of the motherboard can be found HERE.  Just check that yours looks like.  Header USB connections are along the lower edge of the motherboard (pictured).  I see that your card mother peut having a special connctor for the card reader

just above the SATA, labeled Mini ports Card pictured, I've actually seen that before

    Hello @shamrock838,

I understand that your desktop HP Pavilion 500 - c60 PC does not support the biggest Compact Flash Memory Card and you are curious as to whether or not you can install an USB multicard Reader which accepts the memory card see First of all, you have reason 7 - in1 media card reader did it installed does not supported CF memory card, but it supports the following cards:

    • Digital safe™ (SD)
    • Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC)
    • SDXC
    • Memory Stick
    • Memory Stick Select
    • Memory Stick PRO
    • Memory Stick MagicGate

I don't see why you can't connect the 4 - in1 USB multicard reader you have. Until the operating system detects and installs, you should be fine.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • My desktop under Vista 32 built in the card reader for SD cards. It does not recognize SDHC cards. Can I make this happen?

Y at - it an update or a patch that will leave my built in player of card that was installed to SD cards that will recognize SDHC cards? I am running Windows Vista Home Premium on a Lenovo desktop computer.

  • Slow 15-in-1 card reader on the desktop Pavilion p6623w

I recently bought a given to nine Pavilion p6623w desktop computer.   So far, I'm happy with the machine, with one exception - the integrated SD card reader is really, really slow.  Windows 7 measured in Kbps not Mbps transfer speed. It takes nearly 10 minutes to copy a RAW image file only 10 megabytes of the map on my internal hard drive.  Needless to say it's unusably slow.  When I plug my camera into the USB port on the front Pavilion, it takes a few seconds to copy the same file.

I run the manufacturer of Windows 7, 64-bit installation.  The machine is stock except for 8 GB of RAM and a Phenom II x 6 extra 1045T 95W processor upgrade.  Both the memory and the processor are in line with the official specifications of HP of the machine.  When I insert an SD card, Windows recognizes it immediately and I am able to view all files in Windows Explorer.  Everything seems fine until the actual copy.  It is also incredibly slow when imported in Adobe Lightroom 4.

The map that I usually use is a SDHC PNY of Class 10 16 GB card.  However, I also tried a SanDisk 512 MB SD card and the results were the same.

I spent a few hours looking for this forum and other suggestions, nothing worked.  I uninstalled the readers of card reader in Device Manager and let Windows reinstall them after a reboot.  Function update driver in Device Manager says that the generic drivers already installed are the most common.   On the strategies in the Device Manager tab, I changed it for optimal performance (allowing caching of writing), without success.

I am at a loss and I hope not to have another cable or external drive cluttering up my desktop.  The built-in player was one of the things I really liked about this particular desktop computer design.  I would greatly appreciate suggestions for a possible solution.  Thank you.

    Hello

Reformat the card and test it on another PC to make sure that it performs to your expectations.

Unplug all devices and media cards USB of the PC except the keyboard and mouse which must be plugged into the ports back.  Now try again.

    Try clear the CMOS.

If the above does not work, then you might try to swap the USB connectors on the mother board inside your PC and see if that makes a difference.  See the image below.

  • SD/SDHC card reader does not work in a new Win7 64 bit computer desktop Lenovo, help?

OK, so I am looking for a friends computer to recognize the SD/SDHC cards... no chance what-so-ever...

The computer they use is a new desktop Lenovo IdeaCentre K300 running on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.  The Tower has a built in card reader SD/SDHC/MiniHC etc.  However the read card doesn't seem to even notice the fact that we have inserted a card.  No lights, no noise, no new don't drive in "Computer"... absolutely no concept of recognition.  I tried to go on the Lenovo site and download drivers card reader to do this and model, but I get no difference in the response.  Cards perfectly in both cameras and also work on his cell phone.  The map we use are as follows:
MAP 1--> 2 GB Lexar SD
MAP 2--> Sony 1 GB Memory Stick PRO Duo
Are these old maps or simply incompatible with this brand of computer or the windows version?
I can't imagine another way to get this to work other than a completely new card reader.
    -Thanks in advance people!

Is there is no lights then he seems to have not be able to go to him.  You must either check inside to see if the drive is properly connected to the motherboard and the power supply internal.  Or, as Lenovo is new, this drive is covered by the warranty.

  • HP Pavilion a6325.uk card reader missing Desktop PC after Windows 7 upgrade

Hi I have improved my HP Pavilion a6325.uk Desktop PC Win 7 and since then the built in Player cards icons have disappeared from the section 'computer '.

y at - it an update or a fix for this

It seems normal. Windows 7 no longer display the drive letters card reader until you plug in the media.

This prevents users from accidentally clicking a blank disc (no media inserted) and receive an error message.

It's the same thing with your CD/DVD players. Until the media is inserted, it will appear.

  • Cannot get my SD card reader to work on my computer. Desktop computer.

Work does'nt drive SD card, no error message.

    Hello

If you can not get the card reader to work, it can be replaced and/or an external card reader is not expensive.

They go bad sometimes. Try these:

/ Settings (BIOS/CMOS) often F2 when you start then look at the screen - make sure that the USB port is enabled.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Control Panel - device - hard drives - SD card Manager or similar - double click - Driver tab - click on update drivers (this will likely do nothing that MS is far behind the certification of drivers) then right clicked UNINSTALL.

Now get to the USB controllers - right click - UNINSTALL everything in the category at the moment, EXCEPT the category itself - REBOOT. This will refresh the USB driver stack.

Here is the similar procedure under XP, Vista is the same, except that we need to clear the specific device if present.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310575

    Do 1 above.

USBDeview is a small utility that lists all USB devices currently connected to your computer, as well as all USB devices that you previously used. Run Options and check the 1st three choices to see if one is there. You can remove all instances of the drive and restart again.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/usb_devices_view.html

Start - type in search box - Windows disk - find Windows Disk Management on the list at the top - right click - RUN AS ADMIN search to see if there is a drive letter assigned or a conflict.

Check with the manufacturer of your system for the updated drivers - some card readers to do not use the windows drivers.

  • Lightning to a resolution of the camera the incompatible SD card reader image

I use the lightning to drive camera SD card with my iPhone 6 more (iOS 9.3.5) and MacBook Pro running Photos:

    Version 1.5 (370.42.0)

    Digital camera RAW 6.20 (856)

Digital Camera Support RAW 6200 (233)

Import RAW files from my Olympus EM10 on my iPhone, and then when I discovered the images in the Photos on my Mac I see incompatible resolution information.

These are two consecutive images taken with identical settings...

Drag the two images of Photos on my desktop (export in JPEG) then they have the correct resolution information...

Also interesting. If I import these pictures directly on my Mac via the built in card reader, I do not see this problem.

OK - when you import on an IOS device (the exact details are better ask in the forum iPad since it does not involve the Mac or Photos for the Mac somehow - it's strictly an IOS feature) in certain circumstances the maximum resolution is 2400 x 3200

Your best solution is to import directly to your Mac

  • Satellite Pro L300 - USB card reader does not support the 64 GB

HI I have a Satellite Pro L300 under Win XP that I want to attach a USB card reader. I find that I can not read the 64 GB cards. The error is that the card is not formatted. All other cards read correctly. I can place this card reader in my desktop running Win 10 and it works correctly and reads the 64 GB cards. This seems to indicate that the USB card reader works properly, and perhaps that the problem lies in the USB on the Toshiba drivers. Has anyone else had this problem and found a fix for this. I've just updated the BIOS but no improvement. Thank you
