  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE 547c: upgrade graphics card for HP Elite

I tried to replace/upgrade to update my graphics card for my desktop PC. I tried several video cards, but with each one, once it is installed and the computer turned on, the image does not register with the monitor. Everything else seems to work, but the monitor gives no answer. It was only a problem once the original video card has been removed. The current video card, I am trying to install is the NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 730.

In the course of the years, I added a memory and the power supply has been upgraded, but all the rest are always original parts (http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-Elite-HPE-Desktop-PC-series/5035344/model/5074426/do...

Is this a problem with the other parties, who will need to be replaced or is there something else I forget?

    Thank you.

    Hello

You're dominant, in your case, the most important factor-BIOS compatibility... more recent maps, like the gt730, require the UEFI BIOS to run... you have a LEGACY BIOS system, and cannot do anything, unless you change your motherboard... your pc is a model of early 2011... UEFI standard HP in their systems of end of 2012...

You can watch other maps, if... the 700 series card youre looking at is a maxwell model 2014... There are in this region that come with a feature of hybrid bios which offers wider compatibility on legacy systems... or you can look at maps more old pascal/fermi architecture that work exclusively on legacy BIOS systems...

    Hope this helps

    Laptops are unlike desktop computers.

Desktop PC have an open architecture that make the relatively simple upgrade.

PC laptop and portable access to the e/s available and put at level of the slots through the doors of the inspection and often almost total disassembly.

Laptops are also limited by the BIOS and the physical attributes systemboard on the video modules and wireless can be used for upgrades.

A BIOS of the laptop has a white list of the modules that are acceptable. If a module wireless or video is not on the whitelist, then it cannot be used. If a notebook THAT BIOS found during the POST (power on self test) as a module not on the white list has been installed it will warn you and it won't start the laptop computer in the operating system installed.

If money is no object you can update the video through an exotic external graphics solution like Vidock Gfx.

  • Upgrade graphics card for HP Pavilion A6720Y desktop computer

I have the HP Pavilion A670Y desktop computer and was thinking of upgrading the graphics card GeForce 9100 integrated to a Radeon HD5850 and adding a new power which would allow this change. Power side is there a reason that my office would not be able to support the Radeon HD5850?

It's your motherboard.  Make sure that the slot next to the PCI-E x 16 card is open as 5850 is a wide double card.  Your PC has only a 300 watt PSU so 5850 is only in need of a much larger power supply.  Look at the 12 + rating required by the 5850 and then choose the new modular power supply.  Buy not only on power alone.

Your PC has a practice of small Tower and the 5850 will consume more power (wattage) compared to your existing integrated video processor which means more heat. Be prepared to deal with this issue.  The 5850 is perhaps too card for your PC.

Don't forget that your PC system BIOS is up to date.

Open your Pc and clean all the dust. Then a measure of your current diet and buy one that is modular with almost the same dimensions.  Then measure around the PCI-E x 16 slot to make sure that the card fits.

Review the specifications of performance ATI and NVIDIA . Look at the specifications of strip memory bandwidth and level of DirectX support.

How to replace a power supply.

I want to know if I could put in an Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 instead of the 745 GTX graphics card. Reading this post on the forum (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware/Upgrade-My-HP-ENVY-Phoenix-810qe-Desktop/td-p/4679014) I know that the computer has a power of 500w. But in the post, that it seemed that the person asking the question just had basic computer and had not adapted it, and I still have to wonder if the customization that I did for my computer took more watts of the PSU.  Now that I know that the GTX 980 would need 500 all the watts that my computer can offer that I want to know if my computer is perhaps still able to run this beast of a GPU. Anyone have any ideas? If this isn't the case, I think I can just settle for a Geforce GTX 960 because who needs to 400 w of total power of the system. But I'm not even sure that would work on my current computer either. Any help?

  • HP Pavilion Slimeline 400-224: upgrade memory on Pavilion Slimline 400-224

I want to upgrade the memory of my HP pavilion slimline 400-224.  After opening the case, how do I determine how many memory locations is available?  The current Council of the memory is SK Hynix 4 G 1Rx8 PC3L 12800 S-11-13 - B4.   It seems to be another location, just underneath and take-away.

Can you tell me if this machine has one or two slots for memory...  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Here are thespecifications of your machine. It allows two modules of 8 GB.  You said 4 GB installed.  Which would jive with your Visual (only 1 modules installed). If it was mine, I would opt for a corresponding module of 4 GB and do with it.

HP PartSurfer does not list the SK Hynix 4 G 1Rx8 PC3L 12800 S-11-13 - B4.  Another curious point, the specs list 6 GB installed. It would be a 4 GB and 2 GB modules.

  • Pavilion p7-1414: upgrade graphics card

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/desktop-hardware-and-upgrade-questions/P7-1414-and-GTX-750-TI-SC-proble...

As you can see in this thread, my computer will get full performance GTX 750ti due to my PCI ports.  So even if I upgrade my 500 Watt PSU, I always get a maximum return of 750 GTX ti. So in order to get maximum performance, what I have to get a new motherboard supporting the 750 GTX PCI slots ti?

    Greetings,

Your PC meets the requirements of minimum 300 Watt power supply.

Your PC has the UEFI BIOS necessary for the performance of the 750Ti. Your BIOS version 8.xx supports UEFI graphics cards.

Your PC has a PCIe x 16 slot 2.0. The 750Ti will take place in a 2.0 slot, but at a slightly lower rate. It is not as slow as you think. A 3.0 card works fine in a 2.0 slot.

The 750 will fit in your case, as evidenced by the physical installation of the card described in the link to the other thread user in your message.

No PIN six additional or power connections 8 pins are required to run the 750Ti.

I run a GTX 970 in a 2.0 slot and it works fine.

You need to enter the BIOS (Setup) to disable secure boot and select start inherited before installing the 750 into the slot. You must also uninstall the current graphics drivers before installing the new graphics card. You need to return to the graphics drivers generic windows before installing the 750Ti GTX.

  • Desktop HP Pavilion 550-044: processor upgrade

    Can I upgrade using a processor intel i7 4790 K 4.0 ghz on a desktop hp pavilion 550-044 design?

    DKinsman1234, welcome to the forum.

This is supported by the motherboard and HP processor upgrades:

    TDP: up to 88 W

    • Socket type: LGA 1150 (Socket-H3)

  • Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b003sm: Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b003sm processor and upgraded graphics card.

    Hello

I should probably start by listing the specs of the laptop. So here it is:

    Model: Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b003sm

    Series: [personal information]

    Product: C6T29EA #BED

Processor: Intel Core i5-3317U (1.7 GHz)

    Memory: 8 GB RAM

Graphics card: GeForce GT 630 m 2 GB memory

    OS: Windows 7 x 64

So the question, well not really a problem, but recently I have noticed that my laptop has been strugling to run the latest games coming out to the point where some games even on setting him down still have very low FPS.

Then I thought to replace my CPU and graphics card because these two seem to be the issue.

Now, I got the user guide but it was provided on a CD while my laptop is not a CD ROM  So, I have been unable to determine what kind of a slot processor use my laptop.

So I was wondering if anyone of you could help me determine if I can replace the processor and the graphics card on my laptop and if I can provide some suggestions to what I should look at, since I read that chaning a CPU on a laptop is sticky bussines.

    Thank you in advance.

Also if there is more information needed please tell me so that I can add.

Please have look at the below information shown for the processor upgrade

  • Pavilion s5710f upgrade graphics card

I want to update the graphics card in my Pavilion Slimline s5710f.  It appears, reading of the form it is possible to upgrade, but I can not know what card would be a good choice.  It has a Radeon 3000 installed, and I know that the power supply is 220 watts.

I'm not a gamer, but I would like to play the new Diablo 3.  According to Blizzard my computer specs are ok, but my graphics card will probably be a problem.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    > There an installed Radeon 3000
It is the integrated chipset, see your listing:
    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02627981

With your diet, it will be difficult to find a graphics card that works.
And with your slimline box, it will be difficult to find a better diet, since you cannot use a standard PSU.

I can only tell you the same thing that other users here - a slimeline is no pc gamer - and you can't make a good.

Try to reduce the graphics settings of the D3 and test if it will run.

  • I am trying to upgrade graphics card on a Pavilion m7250.uk, radeon hd 5670

I'm trying top grade of a 512 MB Radeon X 1650 to a Radeon HD 5670 1 GB graphics card on my Pavilion m7250.uk who has been classified it with a PSU 550w, 2 GB of Ram. On paper this should work and the card fits perfectly, but it does not start correctly. Card provider think it may be the motherboard or Bios and there may be a solution out there. Please advice! See you soon.

    Hello:

If I'm not mistaken, the card you are trying to install is PCIe 2.1.

Your PC was introduced in October 2005.

This means that the slot is PCIe 1. 0 a, or at best, PCIe 1.1.

For some reason, PCIe 2.1 cards have a hit or miss work history with these old version PCIe connectors.

So that this card has a very high probability of working, you would have a PCIe 2.0 on the motherboard slot.

There are no patches or updates to BIOS to change the version of the crack.

My recommendation would be to return the card and get a powerful high 2.0 PCIe card of your choice.

PCIe 2.0 video cards have a high success rate to work with a slot PCIe 1.1 or 1. 0a.
