Original title: why do need me a new product key
My computer stopped working and a new hard drive has been implemented. Now my computer asks for a product key and my computer says that I am using a windows vista that is not authentic. My background goes black and won't keep any substance I put in place.

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft community!
You have reached the right forum for your question.

This problem occurs because you changed the hard drive. When a change is made in the hard disk of the windows vista system will ask you to activate.

To activate Windows Vista by using the automated telephone system, follow these steps:

    a. Click Start, and then click computer.
    b. click System Properties on the toolbar and then click here to activate Windows now in the Windows activation section.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
    c. click Show me other ways to activate.
    d. click on use the automated telephone and then follow the instructions.

  • Service Pack 2 Build 6002: This copy of Windows Vista is not genuine.

Hi, I bought my Dell XPS 420 is about 2 years. April of 2008. But recently I got this error where it asks for an activation code and activate Windows now or later. I also got a black screen as a background, I can't use the internet, I can't use the Windows Update or system restore for that matter.

Many drivers would be stopping itself, like Windows Explorer when I tried to start it...

I also have a blue error screen, where he would say: "a fatal error has occurred", and the computer will turn off automatically. Sometimes, I can't even on the homepage where I would like to connect on...

I use Windows Vista 32 bit Home Premium if it matters.

If this was due to the installation of SP2, Microsoft offers free support at: https://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?prid=13014&gprid=582034&st=1&wfxredirect=1.

    I hope this helps.

  • This copy of windows vista is not genuine

I have a gateway laptop with vista (tm) home premium. . Things on my system are pretty messed up so I did a clean install to fix every thing. It ran good for a while but now its asking to activate windows. I put the activation code in and now it will not accept it. He says now this version of windows is not genuine and gives the 0xcoo4e003 error code. I do not understand why a clean install would do this kind of problems. IM lost what to do now.

So I'm afraid that isn't true.

Since the machine has no COA sticker at all, you will need to purchase a new license for Windows - perhaps, your best bet is to wait until the system shows as non-authentique and then use the option to get real.

  • The copy of Windows Vista is not genuine and will not accept the product key.

Original title: my copy of Vista has just decided that it is more authentic and does not accept my product key. Why?

Can you re - activate my product key or simply give me a product that works properly & constantly?

If you mean that you can not activate automatically, try to do it manually:

To activate manually, go to start, search, and type in slui 4 enter.  Enter your country and press Next.  You will be on a screen with a phone number and a bunch of codes below.  Dial the number and browse automatic guests until you get to a human being.  Have your handy product code because it will be asked.  Explain the situation, but it's the same PC and only installed on this PC.  They should give you a code to enter on this screen to activate Vista.

To solve the real problem, repost on the Forum of real advantage to:http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinevista/threads.

You have the product key? If so, simply request a replacement from the manufacturer of the computer drive or borrow a disc of Windows Vista to friends if they have a.

If its an OEM system builder license, well, you would be responsible for the disc because consumers are not supposed to have really.

  • Windows Vista does not start, turns to a blue screen error 2203

original title: Windows Vista does not start, turns to a blue screen HELP PLEASE!

Help, please! So I'm panicking here, just yesterday, I tried to download the update to Itunes, and it did not work. So I followed the instructions and uninstalled the program first, but one of the applications does not uninstall correctly. I thought I could just substitute with the update and replace. The error code was 2203.

So I thought it was right after the download all itunes thing, and when I came back to check on the download, the screen turned to this black thing with words on this subject. I decided to force closing down by pressing the power button. Now everytime I turn on the computer, it leads to the screen saying 'windows is loading files', then this blue screen with a very large arrow (the mouse). I tried pressing the F11 key and stuff, but I have no idea what to do. PLEASE REPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, REALLY NEED A COMPUTER!

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
