  Assuming you are using Vista:

  1. right click on a free space of the office > view > select Classic icons.

  2. set DPI:
  Right-click on a free space of the desktop > customize > column to the left, adjust the size of police (in PPP) > uac prompt > click default scale (96 DPI).

  3 resolution:
  Right-click on a free space of the desktop > personalize > Display Setings > move the cursor to the right. Consult your user manual, see if it tells you what = olution resi is for your computer. My laptop is using 1280 x 800 pixels.

  It could be the problem with the screen saver settings. Once you make changes to the screen saver settings it can solve the problem. There is no option to resize the picture within the parameters of the screen saver under windows 7. However, as it worked fine before, you can try to change the resolution of the screen and restart your computer.   I really don't understand what could be the problem, but what you can try is to start your machine with F8 and enter advanced startup options. Choose the entry 'Repair your computer', then press 'Enter '. Go forward until you enter the system recovery options. Try to system restore to earlier date.   I found the solution on another thread-

  1. press CTRL Alt Delete

  2. go in Task Manager

  3. go to the Services tab

  4. look to the bottom of the window, and then click Open Services

  5. under the name of the category to find Windows Error Reporting Service

  6. right click and select Properties

  7. go in Startup Type and change to disabled

  8. click on apply, and then click OK

  The flashing should stop immediately

  Alternative route:

  1. press CTRL Alt Delete

  2. go in Task Manager

  3. Select the file--> a new task

  4. type msconfig, then click ok

  5. Select the Services tab

  6. under the name of the category to find Windows Error Reporting Service & uncheck

  7. click on apply, and then click OK

  8 restart your computer & when you connect the flashing should be gone

  The first set of directions worked for me, but someone else did the second set because they couldn't do the first.
