  I'm completely stuck I have a portable satellite c660 keyboard did not work.
  So I bought a replacement keyboard and installed and checked in the Device Manager and it says it is there and works correctly, but the replacement keyboard still does not work.

  I updated the bios and uninstalled the keyboard drivers and reinstalled them that I've done everything I can think off to try and get this new keyboard working but I am having no luck and could so with some assistance.

Unfortunately, where I live there is no brick and mortar stores selling external drives and I prefer to avoid the hassle of getting a drive online and discovering that it does not work with my Toshiba. Can someone suggest an external USB drive that will read and write CD and DVD and is certain to be compatible with my Toshiba?

  Any external USB CD/DVD drive will be compatible with your laptop.

  However, you won't be able to boot from CD (run recovery for example) If you are using an external drive.

  So, your best option would be to replace the internal drive with a Toshiba drive designed for the laptop. Call an ASP and request a quote.

  Het all. I just replaced my old HP 4180 with a new Officejet Pro 8600. We have three computer that connects to it, and the shortcut on the desktop to open the software of the printer communication does not work only on your laptop. I checked the target of the shortcut on two laptops, and they are identical.   If the CD/DVD drive doesn t open more I think that you can do anything in this case.

  I can only confirm what writes Akuma. You need to replace the CD/DVD drive and you get a new from an authorized service provider. If your laptop is under warranty you can get a new one for free.

  I had the same problem a few months ago. EPA has replaced the CD/DVD drive in a few days and I come back my laptop. Very fast service and the technicians are friendly. :)
