• Free disc of Premiere Elements with the new camera. Installed on the pc and have shortcuts for items and items first. The serial No. work with Premiere Elements, but not Photoshop Elements. Why is this?

  Photoshop elements and first elements are two different programs (as you know).  they have different serial numbers used to activate them.

  If you were supposed to get both with your camera, you should have two serial numbers: quickly find your serial number

  I have Windows XP SP3.  A few days ago, the shortcut icon on the desktop that I had in my taskbar has disappeared.  I recreated, but now when I click on it I get a window that displays the folder icons in the folder on my desktop, but not the real office.  I liked the way that it used to take me straight to my office (with the nice background I selected).  Now I just get another annoying navigation window.  What should I do to get back to the way it worked that I liked?

• Is it possible to create a keyboard shortcut for "book of the export to PDF format? (Cannot find it in the keyboard shortcuts window.)

  I would like to create a shortcut for the 'Export to the book in PDF format' command in the Panel menu books, but I can not simply find this command in keyboard shortcuts.   Sorry, I agree that it is missing in action. I don't know of a workaround, unless someone has written a script. Scripts can be called with keystrokes.

  I have been using Outlook Express 6 for more than 20 years without a single problem so far. Value of a full year of emails has disappeared all of a sudden my box but all e-mail messages seem to be always in place of my sent folder.

  Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

  Recovery methods:
   
  If you are running XP/SP3, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.
   
  To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.
   
  Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.
   
  In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.
   
  Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.
   
  Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.
   
  First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.
   
  If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.
   
  If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.
   
  If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

  A general warning to help avoid this in the future:
   
  Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.
   
  Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

• Why shortcuts to a HomeGroup sharing keep disappearing from my office?

  I have a small network with 2 pc. They both run Windows 7, and I created a homegroup.
  On PC1 I Shared Documents folder with the homegroup. In this case, there are several subfolders. The shortcuts that I created on the Office of PC2 bind these subfolders. This works. BUT! Sometimes (few times a week) all the shortcuts of homegroup on PC2 disappear and I recreate them.
  Both computers are running Windows 7 x 64 HP NL and ESET NOD32 antivirus software. The used firewall is just the firewall standard win7.

  What is causing this behavior strange and irritating?

  After upgrading Vista to Windows 7, my DVD RW drive will disappear from official view and computing device and a scan for changes on the material or use of the player will not solve. Resolves a reboot of the PC (HP - Sony DVD RW desktop computer).
  It appears in the BIOS and when the first install Windows 7 found and the device manager reported everything is ok. It seems that after a power management feature has occurred and the PC wake up the disc is missing and the only way to return it is a restart.

  Thanks for the info, I had seen it work elsewhere on the net for similar problems with Vista, but not of joy as the either the upper or lower part reg entries appear under this subkey. They do it for the disk subkey but no CDROM

  Hibernation is disabled and I use power management to High Performance with only a screen sleep as a default 20 mintes and the hard drive after an hour of sleep. I upped since the two of them to see if that helps.

  I have vista home premium

  Right-click on an empty part of the desktop and click New and then click on shortcut and follow the prompts to create a shortcut you want.

  If it does not, locate the executable file of the program itself (probably somewhere in C:\Program Files and probably not that hard to find) and right click on this file and click on create a shortcut (desktop).

  If this does not work, go to start / / Desktop and click on the file menu and then click New and then click shortcut and follow the prompts to create a shortcut you want.

  I don't know any of these methods will work.

If Burr is right about OE, you say you have Vista Home Premium and the above procedures should work with any version of Vista and quite well with just about any program file (even if only good program files will actually open programs rather than do nothing or do something completely different and perhaps unwanted).  No matter if you mixed up the name, or somehow found a way to install OE on Vista - procedures to create shortcuts should work (or at least one of them should).

  I can use Alt + D to reach the address bar to enter a URL, but is there a way I can then go to the default text box, to enter data, once the search engine page was opened, using a shortcut key? I have the commands in the shortcut keys page doesn't recognize as not being what I want.

  Not as far as I know. Sites may assign a keyboard shortcut to a text field if they like, known as an AccessKey, but he is not necessarily going to be any consistency, and the site you may not be using one.

  It is possible, there could be an add-on or userscript to help with this. Or otherwise, someone might be able to write one for a particular site.

  How much memory you have installed on the pc?

  Have you closed Jdev and he did it again?

  If so look at the messages window where you can get some info on the problem.

  A restart of the pc is sometimes useful.

  I'm kinda a noob and following a tutorial... and found something strange and I wonder if you could help me understand what is happening.

  I have Photoshop CS6 extended on a macbook pro (late 2011).

  I am running OSX v 10.7.5

  I'm the long and the instructor has added a new layer. I did it.

  He then filled the white layer which is its background color (it has foreground black, white background). I have same evidence / background colors.

  Now I thought on mac to fill with the foreground color, you hit Apple + Delete and to fill it with the background, press Option + delete

  It's the exact OPPOSITE for me. I hit Apple + DELETE (or even BACKSPACE) and filled it with my background color, which is white

  If I hit Option + DELETE (or RET.), filled it with my foreground color.

  I tried searching in the area of keyboard shortcuts change... but I do not see these settings anywhere.

  I have an external keyboard plugged into my mac. It is a 3rd party one, but seems otherwise never function normally.

  You must activate your computer to show hidden files and folders to achieve (my computer-> tools-> Folder Options-> display-> display files and folders.)
