Desperately tried to reinstall media player. Alas, who failed too.

I saw a post on how to reinstall the media player on Win7, so I tried the similar operation on XP. Which failed, because he could not find wpgldfsh.scr. I found this file in \i386 to the place where she was looking for her. Then, he couldn't find dancer.exe. I couldn't either. Now, I can't yet play the recordings I have. As a secondary effect, after removing the Media Player bar touch icons of all my tasks went. (Not just the drive one.)

If there is a real way to reinstall the media player on XP, let me know. In the meantime I'll try the system restore and, if it does not, I'm going to do a full restore from backup during last night.

Also, I tried to edit my post above using the firefox browser. Which has not worked and gave rise to a Update window that would not actually let me change what I wrote before. So I tried Internet Explorer. That no longer works. I got a 500 error after entering my phase identification. This error occurs because something was wrong on social.answers.microsoft.com site. Thought you'd like to know.

  • How to correctly reinstall Media Player 11. Reinstall do not have fixed. Need of tags expanded to MP11. Search for CD, playlists, library, etc. are now broken.

How can I completely re - install Media Player 11?  I tried to reinstall several times.  I tried MP12, but I need tags extended MP11, including lyrics.  My MP11 cannot search of CDs. The library remains empty.  I searched and found dozens of documents concerning the fixing of the problem of empty library and tried all of the suggestions.  Now, I think I need to use a procedure which resets all applicable registry settings, DLLs, etc.

I don't need to see all the documents that are more subject to the well-known problem of library.  I need a document that explains how to clean the MP11 current installation and reinstall completely.

  • How to reinstall media player express on Satellite A100-683?

For some stupid reason, I managed to format the partition that contains the media express the player.

I really think that I have ever received a recovery cd or I lost it in a mather of seconds after I bought my Satellite A100-683 in 2006.

Never the less: I want this program back so I called the technical assistance service. They have managed to tell me that they cannot provide me with a recovery disk because it contained the program note only Microsoft (and Microsoft does not allow redistribution more this program).

My questions, subject that has been media express player and if they had any suggestions where to look for the software, went unanswered.

    So my question is:
Can someone give me please with software that reinstalls express MediaPlayer in its Linux partition on the hard drive of my laptop?

    > I really think that I have ever received a recovery cd or I lost it in a mater of seconds after I bought my Satellite A100-683 in 2006.

Have goggled a bit that has found that this laptop was certainly delivered with the Toshiba Recovery CD and the CD Express Media Player.
So, I think that you lost!

    > I want this program to go back so I called the technical assistance service. They have managed to tell me that they can t give me a recovery disk because it contained the Microsoft program single note (and Microsoft doesn t allow a redistribution of this program).

AFAIK the OneNote has been installed on the Toshiba Recovery CD but the Express Media Player has been on the external CD. So it should not be bundled with the software OneNote.

    > So my question is: can someone please provide me with a software that reinstalls express MediaPlayer in its Linux partition on the hard drive of my laptop?
Unfortunately, I n t think someone can do the official Toshiba forum isn't a platform of Exchange software ;)

    Hello

Reregister the Windows Media Player files. Try the procedure described in the following article:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947541

Note: serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Back-up-the-registry ) how to back up and restore the registry in Windows)

  • I am trying to download Media Player 9 and will have compatibility issues

I have Windows Vista Home Premium i can't download Media Player 9 because of compatibility issues, I am tying to download movies from my local library and continue to receive error messages.

You cannot download Windows Media 9 on Vista because it already has Windows Media Player 10. Can't do.

What problems are you having with the downloaded movies? What are the EXACT error messages (Word for Word)?  Which version of Vista you are using.

    Thanks and good luck!

  • Windows 7 Media Player - Server execution failed

My PC woes began - a few weeks ago I had problems with RAM that I solved since. However, in the course of trying to diagnose the problem of memory, I installed and uninstalled a myriad of programs.

And now my Windows Media Player won't play, while Media Center crashes if I go into the sections of music or video (Live TV seems to be good though). If I run WMP from the shortcut to the taskbar, the window flashes up briefly before disappearing. If I try to launch it by double clicking on an audio file, I get the message "Server error".

I tried to disable all the features of media in the section Windows features and then by reactivating. It did not work. Note that iTunes works perfectly, playing the same mp3s that break WMP.

I really do not have to reinstall Windows 7 Ultimate edition just for this problem...

It was a pretty simple solution for me and I was able to reproduce the problem and fix it. WMP always "Server runtime error' until I uninstalled all 3rd party codecs. I realized later that it wasn't the codecs is causing the error, but rather the settings, I had for them. In order to reset everything to stock, I uninstalled all codecs from my machine, uninstalling WMP and WMC then rebooted, deleted the WMP folder in C:\Program Files, reinstalled WMP and WMC, restarted. Then everything worked as expected. I then reinstalled my codecs and BAM, the problem came back. It wasn't until I messed with the settings, specifically for FFDShow as my problems went away.

  • Problem with Windows Media Player: "Server execution failed" and "files needed to display video are not installed or do not work properly.

I have a problem with Windows Media Player on laptop Lenovo G780. My laptop is under warranty (bought a month ago), but technical support Lenovo told me that the Windows Media Player program is not covered by the warranty.

    And this is a problem:

When I click on Windows Media Player - to about 0.1 sec I see it opens and closes the window and nothing happens.

When I select a mp3 or wmv file and right-click with the option open with Windows Media Player - I get a message: "Server execution failed" - I checked that all services with 'Media' in the name are running.

When I select a mp3 or wmv file and right-click with the open option with Windows Media Center - Windows Media Center opens with the message: "the files needed to display video are not installed or do not work properly.

When I select a file mp3 or wmv and right-click with option open with Windows Movie Maker life - see the video

I tried to turn / WMP and WMC - did not help
Tried to run as administrator - did not help
I don't see something suspicious under events

    What can I do else?

    Thank you

    Zarek

I had the same problem and then by chance, I tried a video on YouTube and it worked for me. Here's how I went on this issue and solved my problem:

    1. go to the computer, then OS (C).
    2. you will need to open Program Files (x 86) and Program Files.
    3. go to Windows Media Player in Program Files (x 86) and open the folder.  Then, remove the wmplayer file.  You may need to work around the error TrustedInstaller.  I'll tell you that, in a moment.
    4. in Program Files, go to the same folder for Windows Media Player and select the same file again. Wmplayer.  Copy the file in another window open.  Copy ensures that if the question comes up again you can at least try to fix it again.
This should be the end of your problem.  If you need to circumvent the TrustedInstaller question is how:
    1. right click on wmplayer and select Properties > Security > advanced > owner > Edit > other users and groups.
    2. Enter your username and then click on check names.  Click OK.
    3. close the dialog boxes as he has requested.
    4. open again the properties and click Security.  Select your username from the list and click on edit.  From there, select full control.
This should give you full control over the removal of the original file for WMP and easily allow you to copy the other files (x 86) programs.
Please let me know how it goes for your problem.
  • Windows Media Player Seek function fails

I recently tried to launch a movie with Windows Media Player (I can't find the version number on my computer, but the laptop is one year old), and the search bar does not work. The film unfolds from beginning to end ok, but try to use the search bar and it freezes and you can't even start from the beginning. If you wait, it starts to consume relentlessly physical computer memory until the limit is reached, and you get a message telling you that you are low physical memory (4 GB on my machine). Is there anyway to fix the problem? If it's a problem of codec with this particular film, I should just try and older version of Media player? Or have the latest versions of Media Player solved this problem? Help appreciated

The third-party codec package a few times is responsible. If you have any package of codec such as uninstall.

You may need to Reset WMP12.
