Detects the MIME type of the file
Hello
Is it possible to get the MIME type of the file extension or content?
Thank you
Seems that I found the solution: passing NULL as the MIME type when creating an attachment
Attachment(NULL, attachmentName, attachmentUrl)

Norton/Security Essentials detects the Virus Help!
Hello
Recently I got a virus that seems to create a temporary file inside the application data area. When Norton detects the file it deletes. I then restart my pc and discover in the process that it has a different file name, IE: (61e.exe) I do not know if the virus changes its file name and tries to trick the protector. I also tried to use Malwarebytes. It detects the virus, but does not delete to restart the computer.
Anyway, I can't seem to find the root of this virus and I was wondering if someone could help.
Best regards
Scott
It is strongly recommended that you run only one antivirus at a time program. In more than one program antivirus active in memory uses additional resources and may result in program conflicts and false virus alerts. Your best defense against computer viruses and malware is to keep your up-to-date virus definitions and run AV Auto-Protect. If you choose to install more than one anti-virus on your computer program, only one of them should be active in memory at a time. (The AV module, which is active in memory is called Auto-Protect. Other antivirus programs will have different names for this function.)

Get the MIME type of the file object
Hello, all,.
This project aside, I'm getting is really push me to learn new things (which I love!); but I keep running into issues that _should_ be simple enough to understand.
This time, I need to detect the type MIME of a downloaded file _without_ save to the hard drive and not the file extension.
Cf11 on a Ubuntu Server (Tahr Trusty 14.04.4 LTS; no GUI, it is all CLI)
The process that I have mentioned in a previous post in this forum: the images are uploaded to the server without being registered to HD, or system loops through each of the .tmp files to insert binary files or files in a table so that I can insert them directly into a database.
But I would limit the acceptable mimetypes to strictly .gif, .jpg and .jpeg.
Is it possible because I have to loop through the .tmp files, to detect the mimetype, so I can reject what is not .gif ou.jpg/.jpeg? Binary files are first loaded into a variable and I use isImage() to ensure that it _is_ a picture.
V/r,
^_^
Hello, all,.
I think I may have found a solution. Here that I had found it before asking in the forums (I really try, first of all, honest). Sorry if I wasted all the time.
mime = fileGetMimeType(idx); if(NOT FindNoCase('gif',idx) AND NOT FindNoCase('jpg',idx) AND NOT FindNoCase('jpeg',idx){ ListDeleteAt(form.images,ListFind(idx)); } This will remove the reference to the .tmp file from the form object that contains several files IF it does not match gif, jpg or jpeg. Removal of the reference means that the file will be removed since no action is taken on it.
V/r,
^_^
PS: If you can think of a better way to do it, I learn new things.

A number of us use a private site where run us an application in offline mode. The application offers a download button so that we can take a snapshot of our progress in offline mode, a sort of backup. When we'll be back online you can either download the information from the application or we can load the backup files.
The problem is that every time we hit the download button, we always get the additional dialog box asking if we want to save or cancel the download of the file. It may sound a little silly, but we really do not want to have to move the mouse to the new dialog box and click on the "Save" button.
The mime type of the file is application/octet-stream, there is no file extension.
Is there a way to change the configuration of Firefox so that this dialog box does not appear?
Thank you.
My apologies, but I deleted all system information collected automatically because I am not in a position to submit this application for machines where the problem occurs.
These system are:
14:04.3 Ubuntu LTS
Firefox 40.0.3Content of type "application/octet-stream" will cause always Firefox show the 'open with' Download dialogue.
To avoid this download, you must configure the server to send another type of content and possibly change the file extension. -
Startup applications with the mime type or file-name extension
Hello
is it possible to start the corresponding application for a mime-type file or a file extention? I have for example a JPEG image or PDF file stored on the SD card and wants to open by calling the assosiated on the BlackBerry Smartphone application.
Lars
Ok. I've got so far. But how do I know which deals with the application for example .jpg or .pdf? I found the registry as the place of registry types mime and file-extensions for a particular application, but could find no way to recover this information with other applications from there. Any idea?

I used to be able to click on MP3 files, the way back when, and Firefox asks where I wanted to save. Nowadays, it opens a new tab with a flash drive.
By clicking on the "unknown" files, like .sid, .prg, .zip, .rar is ' this is a BIN file. [Cancel] [Save] ». It does not give me a check box for "always do this".
I would like that option to edit so that certain types of files, such as PDF, regardless of mimetype, always get opened in a new tab if you click. Also some types of files, based on the extension, always go directly to the dialog box "Where you want to save the file?", without worrying if there is a viewer or a builtin player or not. In my Firefox (41.0.1 14.04LTS 32-bit Ubuntu) I have never the choice "do this for these files always" more.
Googling led me to delete my file mimeTypes.rdf and since file extensions can even "well known", such as .zip, are treated as BIN files and I get the box Cancel-or-Save for those too - again without the choice of "always save the BIN files.These files are send as Content-Type: application/octet-stream and Content-Disposition: attachment;
To send files in this way, you cannot save an automatic action.
You can see that in network monitor.Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="TURRICAN_AMIGA_PORT.sid"; Content-Type: application/octet-stream

Hello
I updated Firefox on my computer for 13.01. Now, he struggles to read about 2 sites - both are Joomla and based on the model of JA-purity. What happens is that it fails to load the CSS files to do with the side and the top of the Joomla site menus. The file comes up with this:
because its MIME type "text/html", is not "text/css".
Source file: http://extensions.joomla.org/
Line: 0This error does not appear with other browsers and it displays perfectly in fact in all other browsers.
I'm new on this but I read the following article and think it could be my problem
https://developer.Mozilla.org/en/Incorrect_MIME_Type_for_CSS_Files
Where Im stuck, it's that I did not fully understand what to make of this article, if I could get a step by step guide to fix this problem that would be greatly appreciated.
I apologize in advance if the answer lies somewhere here - I have had a look and couldn't get out.
Thank you

Detect if a file is a supported mime type
When you browse through a list of files how can I better check if they are of a mime type supported for the media player?
I found this list which describes mime supported for different device types.
http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Java-development/supported-audio-formats/Ta-p/445064
How do better type of mime of a file?
If you do support BlackBerry OS 4.3.0 and more you can use the following package:
javax.microedition.Content
Mark said the Mime type is sent from the web server.
Example Code:
Registry registry = Registry.getRegistry(...); ContentHandler[] contentHandlers = registry.forType(MIME_TYPE_STRING); loop through the content handlers and check for contentHandlers[i].getAppName() You will need to find out what the media player name is.
Hope this is what you are looking for.

such as: word, excel, file, file pdf image and so on.
After the file is downloaded.
How do I know what app is the type of file.
and call this app to open the file?
I can get the file type of the file name extension.
But I do not know how to find the application that can open this file.
or if this device have any application can open the file. Then, it will show you an alter.
like dropbox app.
Please help me.
Thank you very much.
Hello
For above 4.3 and higher, you can use API call to achieve this. In regards to my understanding, it works as follows (Please correct if I am wrong).
-All files (PDF, excel etc) readers save with BONE graft as "I am able to open the file whose mime the type XXX.
- So, when you pass the path to the API Invocation, it searches for reader app there is place and request that you open the file. (I know not if more a reader installed in the device that achieved reference)
Here's the code that worked for me,
Invocation invocation = new Invocation(
); invocation.setAction(ContentHandler.ACTION_OPEN); Registry registry = Registry.getRegistry(" "); registry.invoke(invocation); If none of the application saved in the requested file format it then throws the exception.
Another option is to pass the path to the browser by using the private API to display the files...
Let me know if it works for you...
Thank you

How to solve the problem of "MIME types"!
Hello!
How solve the problem of the "MIME Types", Windows does not keep the default applications!
When I try the default application (e.g. right-click on. PSD files and 'open with'), then I have valid selection program (Photoshop.exe), it does not appear in the selection of the default programs in windows!
Result, dynamic objects even more open in my apps and all the icon of adobe files do not appear in Explorer
THX
I have a solution that works for me (Win7 64 bit)!
Use a cleaner (ccleaner) registry and kill the old entry file format !
Now restart association with one. HAVE file, because the .exe is in another place like the other apps!
Try this:
- First, right click on your icon illustrator apps (desktop or the start menu) and choose "Open file location" and copy the directory ("C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CC 2014\Support Files\Contents\Windows" for me)
- Click right on your. HAVE file and select 'Open with', now click on 'Browse' "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CC 2014\Support Files\Contents\Windows" for the 64-bit system.
- 'Windows' say 'you have problem with registry file association' send your of the correction and the illustrator icon appear in the list of default applications.
- Select and validate him
Now, do the same thing for all your 'unknown file type' with good apps!
