Detune overlay Channel Strip Instruments

Within a patch in my concert, I use strips of multiple channels with splits and layers. I can't understand how to tune these instruments for more spectacular effects (for example, I am a patch of guitar to the multiple flavors of guitars in channel strips). I use MainStage 3. Any help is very appreciated!

Plug in the instrument of ESX24. Name and save your instrument in this page.

Is it possible to change the default channel strip without having to depend on models?

For example, I always wish to have:

    • Follow the value Name = 3 lines instead of the default line 1.
    • 'Follow the icons' checkbox deselected
    • Always follow box color

Is it possible to change the default channel strip without having to depend on models?

    NO.

But why not use a template? You use a template of this moment anyway, the default value of project. Just change and set the Start Action that you configured

  • Software instruments are mixed

    Hello

I use MainStage 3.2.4 on OS X 10.11.5, and I noticed that in the past few months (since it updates recent, I don't know if it was the last or previous), sometimes, when I opened a concert, a lot of settings for software instruments have swapped around between them!  All channel strips and the layers appear more or less as they should, but the actual sounds are those of another patch entirely.

For example, I'll choose the patch to "Billie Jean", for example, and when I play, rather than hear the ES2 synthesizer string sound I expect to, I hear, say, the head of "treasure".  (But this does not mean that when I go on the patch 'Treasure', I hear the "Billie Jean" sound - it could be the right, or another another patch).

Two times this happened to me on a real concert, so it is a huge nightmare for me.  I turned up for the concert and the last time, I used the concert it was working fine, but now the sounds of software instruments, charges are passed around, and I was desperately trying to fix everything before you start playing.

A situation which is certainly sometimes it is loading up to another concert (without closing the first) and copying fixes between them.  I recently opened a concert and it has worked well, then opened another copied a patch of her and now software tools in the first patch are messy.  But, I don't think it's the only cause, because I now made a point of not doing that, and yet it happened at the concert last night...

I used to be able to load two concerts at a time and copy them without problem, then this is definitely a recent problem.

    Everyone knows this?

I did not have exactly the same problem, but open two simultaneous concerts and copy patches between them caused problems. The import path a patch or together from another concert is to choose a patch, then in patch fixes to select user settings > concert > define > patch.

  • Disable the autoload software instrument GUI, when you select a track

OK, so maybe this is the most recent update or I can I have turned it on by pressing a wrong button.  But, in the past, when a track was a software instrument are entrusted to him, to open the instrument interface, you would:

1 Select the track via the console mixer or main scenario

    2. click on the small button that looks like horizontal sliders in the middle of the channel strip that would open the GUI

However, these last something has changed so do anything when I'm selecting a track via the mixing console or the main timeline, the GUI of instrument software automatically loads and opens.  As you might think, it's incredibly frustrating and certainly not necessary.  Especially when it's a heavier instrument like Komplete Kontrol and must Access files more major libraries.   I want to just go back to the way it was, where I have to click on the button in the image above to launch the GUI.

Update on the OS and logic, the latest versions of both.

I'm hoping this is an easy (probably) in trouble, but I can't seem to find any info on what caused it to change to auto load.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Never mind!  I got a PreSonus Faderport plugged, and it was the origin of the problem.  Logic has had another problem of GUI, and as soon as I unplugged the Faderport, things are back to normal.  He followed the question all the time, and I never thought to unplug the unit.

    Yes

    (A) in layout mode, add a MIDI activity monitor and assign it to the MIDI from the Fishman. You can name.

    (B) in edit mode, select the hotfix that you want to add a software for instrument channel. In the area of the channel strip, click on the + at the top on the right and add a channel of the instrument (with the Fishman as input).

    (C) loading of sounds/instruments to be used.

You could also simply start by loading an Instrument patch top try on things without the MIDI guitar (audio).

  • Grouping of external midi channels

    Hello

I'm trying to combine two external midi channels, but it does not work.

I can put them in the same group, I have check the volume, but it still moves only a fader when I'm not touching her.

I tried to stack them, but the created VCA group does not send the midi volume information

Is there a way to do this?

    Thank you

Be careful with the external MIDI in general channel strips. In the mixer, they resemble other Types of Channel Strip, but they are not. External MIDI channel strips don't "carry" any audio signal, the only signal of MIDI. I guess that's maybe the reason why the Faders group.

It's a bit of a (misleading) confused situation, because there is no indication in this regard. The other grouping settings, however, work on all the channel strips: editing, automation Mode, Record, color, Zoom, track to hide track.

Don't use Solo and Mute for groups or external MIDI channel strips, they are incompatible between buttons on the tracks and channel strips.

Here's the group settings that you can use on external channel strip

    Hope that helps

  • assigning a switch or button 2-band channels?

    Hello!

I was wondering if it is possible to assign a controller that could cut a channel strip and at the same time to reactivate another in the same patch?

    Thank you

    Hello

    Yes

Simply create a new assignment that cut a channel strip, and then add a second assignment that cut the other. Reverse the setting range for one of them.

  • Faders and mute are not on some channels

I have two guitar channels that have stopped responding to the fader and mute controls. The audio is full on, I can't do them down or mute their. As far as I can see they are routed exactly like my other three tracks. Mono, all for one, input stereo outputs. It does not matter related or unrelated. I have no updated automation accidentally powered so it shouldn't be a problem VCA. When I their solo volume and mute work normally. Stoves work very well on the two in any case. I made a Flex rate task with them, but also to the bass and drums. I don't think that should matter, but I will say. Briefly, they were still working for one or two crossings of fast pass, but again, at full volume. It is difficult to start mixing this way.

OK, it improves. I deleted tracks and channel strips and re - recorded audio of one of the titles of the source to which it was recorded on. It mutes and turns off... but... I can still hear the other guitar tracks. I don't have to see a bass, drum and vocal track. They were a single take, although there are some flex in the field on the voice and some bending on the bass rhythm and determine the alignment to the battery. Especially for the corrections of rhythm, I had done on the guitar tracks.

How can I find these tracks ghosts? This must be what I hear. Where are they? I bring up all the mixers section Flickr photos and only channels of the preview, then click on appear. Nothing else.

  • Series quick reading of the channel group properties

Hi, can someone please advice what is the fastest way to extract about 400,000 files channel group properties? Currently I use DataFileLoadRed with only the Group of channels that interests me and channels stripped down to a single value by setting the no. intervals of 1 and SectionBegin / end of 1/2. Suggestions for improvements? PHEX

An alternative would be to open all files with the following code.

    Option Explicit

dim groupindex : groupIndex = 1 ' you can also use a groupname instead
dim groupProperty : groupProperty = "description"

' include this in a loop over all your files
    dim filePath : filePath = "C:\temp\example.tdm"
    dim store : set store = navigator.ConnectDataStoreByParameter("TDM", ""& replace(filePath, "&", "&") & "")
    dim propVal : propVal = store.RootElements(1).Children(groupindex).Properties(groupProperty).Value
    MsgBox propVal

The files are open and your properties are extracted. Potentailly datafinder approach should be more fast but if you don't get that market this may be a way out.

  • Is it possible to close the titles so they load in RAM until I tell them?

I want to build my Orchestra until I play on the instruments. He ends by 165 securities loading from above all Kontakt 5.
My problem starts a little after I loaded my project. My CPU bird up before I even play. That is not surprising that many tracks but can I somehow closed the tracks in my project? So my computer don't have to load anything until I have to say. I am aware of the Frost farm of, lock, mute buttons. But none of them really close the tracks. Somehow, I want to be able to force my project to open without loading all my instruments until I have actually say this to load a specific track: Pei

Maybe I'm just dreaming? And the only solution would be a bigger computer: Pei as 12 hearts haha...

    Thanks in advance,
    Michael

    Hmmm, keep them loading...

And neither of the two below answer to your problem?

When Show Advanced Tools is selected in the Advanced preferences pane, you can freeze one track, reducing the computing power required to read the title. A reduced freezing track usage of the CPU than a track high-resolution audio without effects plug-ins, regardless of the number or complexity of plug-ins actually used on the track. Freezing is especially useful for software instrument tracks and audio tracks that use complex effects. Freezing is not available for software instruments several outputs.

When you freeze a track, the track is rounded to an audio file. The gel file includes the output of any plug-ins on the track and any automation track. While the track is frozen, the gel file reads instead of the original track, which is temporarily disabled (including plug-ins). The channel strip controls (for example track mute and solo) are available, but no content track cannot be changed (including mute of the region and solo, for example).

Even if a track is frozen, it cannot be changed. If you want to change the track, you can free an it, make the changes and then freeze again the track.

Gel is designed to work around very CPU process, as software instruments with an architecture complex voice and complex plug-ins (such as reverb, filters or effects by FFT). If your computer allows to calculate all the active processes in real time, the titles of freezing is not necessary. Freeze tracks is recommended when the securities with processor software instrument or effects plug-ins are in a final State, or require no subsequent change.

In freezing the slopes, you can:

    • Use plug-ins or additional software or audio effects software instruments instrument of additional tracks, which would be normally impossible it would exceed the limits of the CPU of your computer processing.
    • Read the projects created on computers with more CPU power.

    Freezing a track

    1. Click the Freeze button in the header of the track. The lock will turn blue to indicate that the track is ready to freeze.
    2. In the track Inspector, choose a Freeze mode:
      • Source only: Freeze the track without any signal effect plug-ins. When selected, the Freeze button becomes solid. Note: This Freeze mode is useful when you use software instruments much the processor or flex modes.
      • Pre Fader: Freezes the signal of the track including all effects plug-ins. When selected, the Freeze button shows a point.
    3. Click on the Play button in the control bar.
    4. To unlock the track, click the Freeze button again.

To change the State of freezing of several tracks, click and hold the Freeze of a track button, then drag the pointer upwards or downwards. The buttons of the freezing of all tracks are critics put you in the same condition.

If you try to make changes to a frozen track, a dialog box tells you that the track is frozen.

  • Logic Pro - mixture with 1 track in the Red?

HI folks, I'm just learn to mix and have my song sitting close to the way I like it, I kept all not too high and have used EQ on most of the tracks in my mixture to eliminate some UM and stop the instruments to be buried, however I have noticed that one of my main instruments arouses in the red in about 3.5 in the channel strip. I want to know is this a bad thing and it will cause problems when sending to the control?

My main stereo output track is of approximately - 3db to leave enough margin, but if one of my pieces of lead is in red, it means that the track is cut?

I tried to reduce it then becomes lost in the mix and tried to reduce all other tracks, but it does not really help. The FX only I have on it are Silververb Reverb and an EQ that does not have the massive peaks or win. I tried to add a compressor but don't know exactly how to help?

Any help would be great and as always, thanks in advance!

Red is much too much output, you cannot unclip a track, try adjusting your entries, you can 'tested' red when you blow of eye, but you don't want t keep it there. Play your song and adjust the levels until you just graze red to your strongest part and the rest of the track remains under the brand. Once the game you can save, now play the same thing you just did!

also consider verb and post recording eq if you have not already, it will give you much more flexibility on the road when you mix, the less sleep you when you save the more effects you can add later, there are exceptions, but when the reverberation of the recording is not your friend, reverb is false whiskers for little boys or heels high MOM for girls to parts of the raw (Stephen King) that You can save and then add it later. You think that Hendrix went into the studio with a wall of effects boxes? That the strung a right-handed Stratocaster was left-handed and a plexi Marshall to have up to 10 with mic's all over the room, and he was wearing baseball cleats! (Eddie Kramer / me, speculating)

If you have too much UM

    (1) turn on/down an overhead lighting, especially if you use a micro single coil.

    (2) try a different collection or watch in what you can do with what you have (single coil pickups are magnets noise when it comes to ground), some guitars are just dang noisy.

    (3) to adjust the gain of the amplifier, or your effects while it's fun to look like Tony Iommi and Max Cavalera and Brian Hayner to giving birth to a new distortion pedal at the same time, it is difficult to capture without sounding like a giant Bumblebee until you get the hang of recording.

    (4) to consider an external suppressor or see this document

    https://documentation.Apple.com/en/LogicStudio/effects/index.html#Chapter=4%26se ction = 10% 26tasks = true

    (5) a compressor can be used before or after mixing, as all the things you just plug in and walk away.
