Development environment for Blackberry 10

Hello

I would like to ask experts if we can write BB10 applications in Java? I know that we can transfer files APK android to run on BB10 but if I have an application already running on 5/6/7 BB, would it possible to BB10 or I must write it in native C++ code.

Any help would be appreciated.

Kind regards

Brsengar

html5 'people' say you can do anything, but that usually means writing native extensions

It took me a while to adjust, but I now feel productive in c + c++ / Qt/stunts - if my DevAlpha would be boot...

  • What is the best platform to develop applications for BlackBerry 10?

    Hi all

I have developed applications for BlackBerry 6 and 7 for the last 3 years, but I am very new to BlackBerry 10. I know that most of the developer would like BB 10 is something new. I have about five years of experience in the JAVA platform, but unfortunately BB 10 is not supported it unless you develop applications for Android and the port at 10 BB.

When I checked the list of programs that are supported by BB 10, I saw C/Cpp, Cascades, HTML5 and action script among them. But which one to choose? There is where I am confused. I don't have any experience in the above mentioned technologies. If I select, I need to learn from the beginning. When I went through a few posts, I got to know many people prefer to develop in HTML5, as it is a cross-platform technology. But many have said that it may have problems of performance and the native technologies like C/Cpp, waterfalls will be the best options in terms of performance.

Can anyone suggest me the best technology to start with BB10?

Cascades is based on Qt, which is a cross-platform C++ library. It encapsulates many low level BB Native API - s for easier use, but you still have direct access to these APIs if necessary. C++ syntax is similar to Java, so it shouldn't be too difficult to pass. I suggest choosing stunts.

  • Development environment for 10g R2

    Guys,
I need to set up a development environment for the development of forms of oracle 10g r2. I am a new on oracle and because of the downsizing, we lost our DBAs so I'm on my own and need your huge support...

Current settings: Oracle on the server: Oracle 10 g R2
    My local client installation: 10.1.0.4.2
Suite Developer downloaded oracle of oracle: Oracle Forms: 10.1.2.0.2 (Developer suite 10.1.2.0.2)

    * Is it a decent development environment? or any incompatibility do you see that? *

Second, I have heard different things on the development environment and would like to your comments as well:

    * Can I develop application forms in my own office, OC4j connecting my local machine (supplied with the suite) developer to run and develop forms? or what I need to put it on the server where oracle is installed? *

    * Fact to our oracle server needs any of application (weblogic) Server installed or simply OC4j can run on the server to run the production of forms? *

Please help me to resolve my confusion so I can introduce the development environment for my management...

    Thank you very much...

I just want to confirm one last thing... for purposes of development, I need not oracle application server to develop and test shapes on my local office OC4J and oracle connection is sufficient.

Yes, developers just subsequently installed developer.

But for testing (as I am the only developer) and the final production it has to work on oracle application server?

The production, to use an Oracle application server (its also a matter of license). To be sure, confirm it by your Contact of Oracle.

For the test, it depends... You have not necessary need to use an OAS, but if you do not, you do not test in "conditions of production.

  • Development environment for management

    Hello

I want to learn about the management of the case, but I could use some advice start because this is the first time that I install a Java runtime environment from scratch. To be able to design and develop solutions for case management, JDeveloper is necessary and it seems that there is a WebLogic Server embedded in the installation of JDeveloper. I can install the BPM for JDeveloper extensions and I support for management. But is it enough to actually deploy and test a solution? Or which does not require a stand-alone weblogic + installation suite SOA? I prefer to have all that figured out before you start the installation of all the different things.

    Thank you

In my opinion would be a good idea install a minimum server on a virtual machine environment.

You can boot from a VM pre-built Oracle (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/community/developer-vm/index.html#soa), but now the 11.1.1.6 version is the only one available, so you will need to migrate to 11.1.1.7.

Or install an environment from scratch, which is also a good idea as you will learn a lot during the installation of all.

If you have a desktop computer core i7 with 8 GB of RAM propably you can start and run the virtual machine without problem.

A tip: since you're new because this type of installation, it is a good idea to keep generating snapshots for each main stage finished, in case you need to restore.

  • I could develop Java Application for Blackberry device software version 5.0 to 6.0 JDE

    Hi, expert,

I saw this line of the ' BlackBerry Java Development Environment - 4.7.0 - fundamentals Guide'.

    It is said:

    ===============================

With each major version of the BlackBerry Device Software and the FMV of BlackBerry, Research In Motion includes the
corresponding Java API and version of the BlackBerry® Java® development environment. The version of the BlackBerry device
Software determines the version of the BlackBerry® integrated development environment that you can use to develop
applications. For example, RIM released BlackBerry Device Software version 4.0 and BlackBerry JDE version 4.0 in even
time. BlackBerry JDE version 4.0 supports APIs that were introduced in BlackBerry Device Software version 4.0
    and BlackBerry JVM version 4.0.

The applications that you create by using BlackBerry JDE Version 4.0 only work on BlackBerry devices
running BlackBerry Device Software version 4.0 or later.

    =========================

The last sentence talking about version 4.0 of JDE. I think that would mean that I could not develop a java application on JDE 6.0 for Blackberry 5.0 version of the software, even if I do not use any new API to 6.0. However, it seems to me that it is a useless limitation. Could someone throw some lights on it?

I'm going to agree with superdirt here.

I have the 5.0 OS update of applications work well on OS 5.0, 6.0 and 7.0 of the OS OS phones.  I try not to recompile for levels of the OS, if I can, and so far I've been perfectly safe with OS 5.0 running on the later levels of the operating system.  So you should be able to get away with just using OS 5.0.

Not that it is important for you, but I just thought I documents some historical information about level changes.  .

As far as I know it 2 change cod in the file format, one to the 4.0 OS and the other in OS 4.2.  Therefore, if you want to run anything in OS 6.0 or above, it must be compiled in OS 4.2 or higher.  Again, I have applications compiled to OS 4.2 running on OS 6.0, without no problem devices.

There have been changes to the API - the result is that the code that works in OS xx does not work in OS yy where yy is after xx.  I hit a few of them and have so far managed to rework the code so that it works very well on both levels of the operating system.  In general it is things that I do wrong anyway, as the older operating systems (from memory) are not as strict on when the event Thread must be used.

The problem with OS 4.7 compatibility is an impact and to get more of this, for devices touch screen only, I compile using OS 4.7.  If an application that uses only the functionality that was available in the OS 4.2, I compile on OS 4.2 for non touch screen phones and OS 4.7 for touchscreen phones.  And everything works fine.

    I hope this helps.

  • BlackBerry development environment - SDM does not

    Hi all

I put in place following the BlackBerry development environment.

    1 blackBerry JED 4.7

2 blackBerry Email and MDS Simulator 4.1.4

    3 blackBerry WebLoader 1.1.0

If I try to run the MDS through the stand-alone option (Option 2 above). SDM works very well and I am able to access the Internet while browser.

But if I try to run MDS if the option provided internal JDE (Option 1). SDM is not running. Command window opens for the fraction of a second and then closes. Some how I managed to catch the snap-snap-in error and which is "Exception in thread"main"java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError.» Bad Version in .class file number' do not know what the problem is.

According to my understanding MDS should work in both options.

    Please provide your inputs.

    Thanks in advance,

    Sandeep

Baiscally the MDS is to simulate the transfer of your data through MDS.

Well, if your Java version is compatiable with the MDS, avoid any problems for MDS.

  • LV 2011 development environment and prompt to install the fix for LV 2012 RT Module f1?

I have a LV 2011 development environment configuration, including RT I get a message that there is an urgent fix for RT 2012 LV available; See attachment.  This machine of development must remain the LV 2011; This patch must be installed?  Thank you.

    Matt

As stated in the notification message, you see this update because you probably have another component which released LabVIEW RT 2012 - NOR-RIO 12.0, WSN 1.4 or Fieldpoint 6.0.11.  It was to fix a specific problem in 2012 of LabVIEW, which hit the RT, so if you haven't installed LabVIEW 2012 then the patch will be neither harmful nor helpful to you; However, files of Framework Setup OR RIO, WSN and Fieldpoint for RT should be updated to be compatible with changes in LabVIEW (and so you probably installed component that has an update is available, even if 2012 LabVIEW itself is not installed).
