  I zipped and tied the smbus controller driver you need below.

  Download and uncompress the file in its folder.

  Don't do anything with the files in the folder.

  Go to Device Manager and click the controller smbus who need the pilot.

  Click the driver tab.

  Click on set to update driver.

  This device is not the reason why you are unable to connect to the internet.  I suggest you find a PCI or PCI Express x 1 card network card and install it in one of the available locations.  I can't make suggestions on personal credit cards because you have not specified what operating system is installed. I'm fairly certain this isn't Windows 8. Your venerable PC is a bit too far back in the Windows 8 compatible PC platforms.  It's impressive that it continues to work after all these years.

  If you have installed Windows 7, then the simplest solution, especially if you have access to a router wireless, would be to install a dongle usb wireless for internet access.

  I had to downgrade laptop computer CQ58 a 64 Windows 8 for Windows 7 64 client on their request. The process went very well and I managed to find all the drivers required - except one, the SM Bus controller driver, which I will have supply problems. I think that this is part of the AMD Catalyst package and I downloaded and installed the recommended package of AMD of automatic detection and this has not solved the problem. I also tried a slightly earlier version of these drivers, and it also left me with the same problem. Has anyone else faced the question and it is resolved successfully?   This isn't a driver that should be necessary on this system.

  If you are upgrading Windows 7, it should have pulled the driver from 7 or installed in native mode.

  If you have a system with Windows 8 natively, it should already be there.

  If you have the Recovery Manager, you install all the drivers and applications from there.

  Otherwise, I will propose to restore the system to factory settings.
