difference between authorized and unauthorized oracle database

Hi all

Please let me know that the difference between the authorized and unauthorized oracle database. And how to check the installed database has a license?

Sheesh - another person who sprays the duplicates of the question in every sense. A single copy of the issue, waiting around a decent amount of time (at least a day) would be sufficient. The copy of my response to the other answer:

Rahul K. Thakar says:
Hi all

Please let me know that the difference between the authorized and unauthorized oracle database.

Technically there is no difference between the same version the 'licence' and 'unlicensed' installation. (In fact, there is no such thing as 'without licence' - you agree to a no cost developer license when you download it.)

No bombs, screens reminder or functional limitations. No need of prison Don't Break anything.

In practice only gives the developer license, access you the media and therefore no patches. And so you will live with bugs and potential security vulnerabilities. If it's important, is quite another story.

and how to check the installed database is allowed?

You will be able to go to your bank statement or credit card and see a payment to Oracle. And you will get a contract 50 gazillion page, in small print, which tells you what you bought and what you agree to make and use.

You are on your honor to follow the details of this beautiful document. You can note that, with all licenses, you agree that Oracle can visit you to confirm that you are indeed honour your agreement. And if not, you have the option to ' splain why not in front of a judge.

  • What is the difference between TAR and SR oracle?

    Hi all

Not sure if this is the right forum to ask this question. My question is not a technique, it's on the way to work with oracel issues and support.

Y at - it no differnece between a TAR and a SR? If so, when we opened a TAR and in what scenarios, we open an SR?

How to access metalink? I thought my company will create an account and provide me with a user name and password. My colleague said he enrolled in metalink with his official ID, then oracle people contacted my company, but it is a consultant/employee of my company, then they approved his registraition. It work?

I know what you think of me. You're right, I never had access tío metalink. I saw the couple of my friend open SRs and reading documents. But I've never had my own code.

    Thanks in advance.

SR & TAR are the same thing.
In the past, we usually call them TAR (requests for Technical Assistance). They have just been renamed SR (Service Request).

To access Metalink (now called My Oracle Support), your company must have a valid license of Oracle & a few CSI, which would allow you to register on their site.

  • difference between Instant and complete customer oracle

    Everyone,

I had read a PDF of goldengate lines below. Someone please explain to me what is the difference between Instant and complete customer oracle?

What is the purpose of the XDK libraries. ?

"The full Oracle client must be used with the GoldenGate so GoldenGate programs"

These libraries. You can download the full client from Oracle's Web site. »

    The dealio is the following:

When you install the client software, you have several options as to the degree of what you get/install. The big chicken dinner is administrator, so you get all sorts of additional features, modules, libraries, utilities, etc. Candy hard end of Christmas is instantaneous, and has just enough features for, as you can guess now, connect a customer and that's about it. Several libraries have the feature in what that extra is needed. An example is FAN, or fast application notification, used the shift in Data Guard. A FAN API (Java) detects a failover and redirect a new client connection to the primary. GG use XDK for (in particular) is not important to a user, just the fact that it is available to connect to Oracle.

  • Difference between AL32UTF8 and UTF8

    Hello

Our current database version is 10g with CHARSET = UTF8 to support Greek characters. However, the customer wants to switch to 11g (11.2.0.4.0) and the database of test created with CHARSET = AL32UTF8.

Up to now to insert Greek characters, we have been offering script mentioning set NLS_LANG = AMERICAN_AMERICA. UTF8 and he has been inserting Greek characters correctly. However, it does not work with the new machine. If this setting, execution of the script gives error for the Greek characters "quoted string not properly done".

    I have two questions here:

    (1) is there a difference between UTF8 and AL32UTF8?

    (2) settings NLS_LANG works on character set of database right? What setting I put for NLS_LANG allowing to insert Greek characters or script windows or linux machine to run?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    Answered below:

-Oracle UTF8 is Unicode 3.0 revision in 8.1.7 and upward. AL32UTF8 is updated with Unicode versions in each major release, Oracle RDBMS 12.1 it is updated to Unicode 6.1,

Apart from the difference in Unicode version the "big difference" between UTF8 and AL32UTF8 AL32UTF8 has build in support for "Additional characters", which are coded using "Surrogate pairs" (also wrongly called ' surrogate characters"'").

Oracle UTF8 (Unicode 3.0) stores additional characters in the form of 2 characters, for a total of 6 bytes, using "modified UTF-8" instead of the "standard UTF - 8"(implemented in Oracle 9.2 and upward using AL32UTF8) 4 bytes for an extra character.

This "modified UTF-8' is also called CESU-8 .

Practically, this means that in 99% of UTF8 and AL32UTF8 data are the same for * storage * data. Only the additional characters differ in bytes/codes stored between UTF8 and AL32UTF8.

    -the necessary parameters are:

    LANG = el_gr. UTF8

    LC_ALL = el_GR.utf8

    NLS_LANG = 'GREEK_GREECE. AL32UTF8.

  • difference between BYTE and CHAR

    Hi all

Oracle, as in syntax below, what is the difference between BYTE and CHAR used as size data type for the column NAME:

    CREATE THE CUSTOMER TABLE
    (
    NAME VARCHAR2 (11 BYTE),
    CUSTOMER_ID NUMBER
    )

    and

    CREATE THE CUSTOMER TABLE
    (
    NAME VARCHAR2 (11 CHAR),- or even VARCHAR2 (11)
    CUSTOMER_ID NUMBER
    )

    Rgds,
    PC

First - do not use reserved words for column (NAME).

If the database character set is UTF-8, which I believe is the default value in the recent version of Oracle. In this case, some characters take more than 1 byte to store in the database.

If you set the field as VARCHAR2 (11 BYTE), Oracle will allocate 11 bytes for storage, but you can not actually be able to store 11 characters in the field, because some of them take more than one byte to store, for example, non-English characters.

By setting the field as VARCHAR2 (11 CHAR) you tell Oracle to allocate enough space to store 11 characters, regardless of the number of bytes it takes to save each of them. I think that in Oracle 10g, 3 bytes per character were used.

    Kind regards

  • What is the difference between EPMA and Essbase Studio

If the two are not used to design applications?

And a really need Essbase Studio?
What is the difference between EPMA and Essbase Studio

^ ^ ^ It's a little confusing, isn't? As far as I understand the role of EPMA, it is a way to share dimensions and common data between several products Oracle EMP including Planning, Essbase and HFM. In fact, I don't know if other products live in EPMA. What is EPMA not have is a great way to supply or manipulate the dimension and fact tables (or files). Oh, there are tables of the interface, but you will write the code/use the utility of dimension EPMA to load dimensions. I must say that I never tried to load through EPMA data so that someone else will have to pronounce on it. Once the dimensions are built, you can deploy Essbase (and other products) of common and specific to the database dimensions.

Studio is the tool you will use to go against a data warehouse, or something terribly close a data warehouse to build Essbase databases. Just for Essbase - HFM, planning, etc. are not the targets of the Studio release.

What gets confusion / intriguing, is that when EPMA deploy Essbase apps, it uses Studio under the covers to do. So the interesting implementations where people use Studio (which is much more flexible than EPMA because it is a development tool as opposed to a dimension/data management application) to read the tables, EPMA interface (and as far as I know, the EPMA base tables) and create Essbase applications like that.

If you think that there is overlap, I agree with you, but you can see that they are not the same.

And a really need Essbase Studio?

^ ^ ^ Do not use Studio to build Essbase databases. You can go hog wild in EAS with loading SQL rules if you want, even if at some point it will be probably easier and simpler to build in the Studio. Although the Studio has been mentioned as the replacement of EAS for awhile, I suspect the effort required to build a database in Studio will keep around for quite a while EAS or Studio Lite will be out. There is a lot to say (sometimes) for the incredible flexibility EAS/Essbase-Studio requires a more methodical approach and EPMA has a very formal set of standards and methods.

Phew, I'm sorry, I wrote a book on this subject and I bet you get a lot of differences of opinion on that.

If you are interested in the Studio, you could do well to take a copy of 'Look smarter than you are with Oracle Essbase Studio 11' of Glenn Schwartzberg. I don't get a penny from the sale while I was among the writers of copy (Hey, I got a mention in the acknowledgements). It's a good book and an excellent introduction to the tool.

  • Difference between SYSDBA and DBA

    Hi all

Could someone tell me the difference between SYSDBA and DBA. I'm confused...

    Thank you
    Nagi

DBA is a combination of roles and privileges, and it is a ROLE.
SYSDBA is a system privilege which grants the user to the start/stop/create/drop/backup of database.

In addition, SYSOPERs can not create or drop database. Also a DBA may not stop the database but may import or export complete database.

There are other things to mention, but please refer to the Oracle documentation.

    It will be useful,

OCÉ Doghouse more. These certifications can be more CERT of intermediate or high level certificates. These were specifically developed for the gaps in the certification that did not match our OCA, OCP, hierarchy of the CMO.

Generally, the CERT of the OCS tend to focus more on implementation. These certificates have been developed for the Oracle PartnerNetwork for areas of certification which specifically serve Oracle partners and qualify them for levels of specialization. These certifications are available for all candidates, but are directed towards members of OPN.

  • Difference between 'Form' and 'object '.

I am writing today a guide in my native language and want to understand the difference between 'Object' and 'Form' for Illustrator. We have menu object in the Panel and can find a few options of forms under this menu.

Also we program this object is:

In computing, an object can be a variable, a data structure, a function or a methodand as such, is a location in memory value and possibly referenced by an identifier.

In class-based object-oriented programming paradigm, 'object' refers to an instance of a class where the object can be a combination of data structures, functions, and variables.

Relational database management, an object can be a table or column or an association between data and entity of database (such as the age of a person concerning a particular person). [1]

So my question is: If we create a form in artificial intelligence can we call it 'object' and vs. ?

There is menu item "Create object mosaic" option which works only with raster images. This is why any other object in artificial intelligence is not object?

    Thank you

"In illustrator is an 'Application based on the objects' any item placed in the drawing area that you can select is called" object "where as".

a form is an object of two dimension.

We could say : each form is an object , BUT not every object is a form.
