Differences in size and HD file size

I have two questions.

I. how a 1 TB with 925,67 GB disk volume...

... contains a record of Time Machine Backups.backupdb 4.55 TB?

II. with more than a dozen other disk images (.dmg) in the same folder of your choice, why there disk utility chose this one to treat separately?

Time Machine uses the file system "physical" which, if the software does not know how to treat hard links will double, triple, quadruple, etc. have the same file.

A hard link is a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc... name of a directory that points to the same exact physical file.  Whenever a hard link is created, the file gets a reference count incremented.  A directory entry for the file is removed every time, the hardlink reference count is decremented.  Then the account goes to zero, the data file are deleted.

Back to TimeMachine.  TimeMachine makes it look like you have several complete your file system copies, but in reality if a file is unchanged in 2 adjacent backups, a permanent link will be put into the current backup pointing to the previous identical file. Now it seems like backup have a copy of the file, but there is ONLY 1 copy of the data on the disk.  If the file has been changed, then the current backup gets its own copy of the new or modified file and no hard link is created for this file during the backup.

It is to try to understand a storage count app that walks the directory had a file with hard links 2 times or more significant.  The app must keep track of each file identifier he saw and then check each file that is looking against the previous files, he saw to see if they have the same file identifier.  It's not bad for a small number of files, but when you start talking about tons of files (in millions), you start to need a lot of memory to keep a record of each found file identifier, and you need fast search algorithms which allows to quickly add new items other than the software metering will eventually slow down.

However, to the best of my knowledge the Finder does not track of hard links.  Especially because very few users actually create them, and few people to get information from a Time Machine backup.

Now the volume itself maintains counters of allocated and free space, so it is not confused by the harlinks, and given that these values are updated each time storage is allocated or freed, it's quick return this information at the request of Volume Get Info.

II. with more than a dozen other disk images (.dmg) in the same folder of your choice, why there disk utility chose this one to treat separately?

I do not understand the question.  Then again, maybe I would not have understood the question if you have changed the wording.  I do not look that closely at utility disc info.

Hey guys... What is the difference between 'place' and 'add files to download' in Muse CC?

    Thanx

You place the images to display on your site.

You add files to download and make them available for download by visitors to your site.

For example, you can add a PDF document, a Word document or whatever you want. These files are not displayable on your site, but you can link with the Hyperlink command to a button to make them available for download by visitors to your site.

ORACLE does not care the files extension. Same control/data/redo or any other scripting RMAN. You too keep file as "full_backup.aymanzone". No problems.

But makesure the file name and extension you created. Is the same that you use/run.

  • Directory structure is the difference between FPJ and GUI file

    Hello world

I have added many HTML files to the project. and the changes saved to the project. So I closed RoboHelp and reopened this project.

Then the FPJ content file paths of files and the content is displayed in project manager (GUI) is different.

    Why the difference?

Can I continue to use this project? Is that what I should do?

These difference appear in the following image.

    CompFPJAndGUI.png

    Hello

Your cpd file should have the entry of these three files, with which they appear in the GUI. For some reason, your fpj file has not been updated.

To update the fpj file, create a new folder inside the content folder and save all.

This should update your file fpj.

Try it and tell us how it goes.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • Differences in size of image in PS and email

    Hello

I received an email with an attachment that was 575 k, and then when I open it in PS, it says it's 3.3 M. Why is - this?

Thank you for your help in advance.

    Fenny

Most of the images sent email are jpg and compressed files to save space.  Once you open the file, it is is more compressed and PS shows how the document is large.  Once that save you it as a jpg file, once again, it will show the file size small.

  • Difference in size of the Parent unit and linked clone

    Hi team,

I do view Vsphere 5.2 implementation Horizon. Implementation goes smoothly, but I saw a c disk space difference of Parent and Linked clone.

Windows 7 with Service pack 1 built with optimization script to disable unwanted services. Free space on the drive c image parent is 3.90 Go. When I put in service a clone related in this snapshot of parent picture I found free space in linked clone vdi is about 6.5 GB.

Please specify if anyone face the same or it is normal in the linked clone.

    Thank you

    Ravindra.

You use a disposable disc?    When you use a disk file page flies on this disc which may explain the difference in free space.

  • What is the difference between the file index and swap file

What is the difference between the .pag and .ind files?

I know that the file contains data real means-data blocks and cells and the index file contains the pointer to the block of data that is available in the paging file.

but is there another difference? What about size?

In my opinion, pagefile size is always greater than the index file. It is Scripture?
If the size of the Index file is larger than the pagefile so that it happened? If the size of the index file is larger that the pagefile is then write?

If I deleted the page file, then it is assigned to the index file?

If I deleted some data block of the pagefile, then how is affects the index file?

Are these test questions? Well, in the hope that in fact 949936 instead has a strong sense of the investigation, here goes:

In my opinion, pagefile size is always greater than the index file. It is Scripture?
If the size of the Index file is larger than the pagefile so that it happened? If the size of the index file is larger that the pagefile is then write?

^ ^ ^ Generally the. IND index, or the files are smaller than the. PAG page file (s). However, there is a minimum eight megabytes index file size. If clearly on a BSO your database and send a single number (which equals one block), you will have a. IND, quite a bit larger than the. PAG.

For example, I have cleared out the good old Sample.Basic and then sent the number "5" in the "New York"-> "Cola"-> "sales"-> "Jan"-> "real." This resulted in a. The IND of 8 216 576 bytes, and a file size. PAG 149 bytes file size.

If I deleted the page file, then it is assigned to the index file?

^ ^ ^ Are you sure this isn't some kind of certification exam? Do you mean that you went down to the BONE and deleted the file? Irretrievably corrupted, the database is what will happen. If you want to clear data, I guess it depends on how you do it. Send to a #Missing 5 has increased the size of the. PAG 149 to 229 bytes file. My guess is that doing so forced the overhead on Essbase. There is no impact on the. File of the IND in this context.

If I deleted some data block of the pagefile, then how is affects the index file?

^ ^ ^ If you delete data into Essbase (whether through the above method which clears completely a block or CLEARDATA command) and then force a restructuring by MaxL or EAS, if the number of blocks have been reduced enough to cross this limit of eight megabytes, you should see the. IND file size down. I see usually do this all the time with backup processes every night that have a component of restructuring for them.

I hope that answers your questions. You can watch the SER60 that there is a fairly comprehensive review of storage BSO which are.

  • Difference in size between the 2 forms...

    Good day all.

This may seem like a strange question, and somehow, I guess it is. But now.

    Difference in size form?

I've drawn 2 forms that have all the same fields. The only difference between the 2 forms is 1 is English and the other is French.

The French form is 1.4 MB and English are 2.1 MB.

I had a quick glance and it doesn't seem to be something different between the 2 forms except as I said the language.

The area using this form asked whether it would be possible to reduce the size of the shape as yours to send multiple copies (20 this time) and is limited to the total MB in an email.

I use version 8.05.2073 of the life cycle of the designer

    Thank you all

If this is the case, then why there are two options (.json and .html) to do the same job? • What is the difference between the program files and Program Files

original title: difference between program files and program files

    Hello.

I have 2 files on my C:\ drive that both seem to contain program files: one is called "Programs" (French word) and other 'program (x 86) '.

Some program files in two directories (like Windows Mail).

What is the difference btw. them, and that one should choose to place new programs? Or is this duplication caused by my using the French for Vista version?

If you are running a 64-bit version of Windows:
Program files (86) your 32-bit programs and "Programs" should be your 64-bit programs. Most of the programs designed for the 32-bit version of Windows works on 64-bit Windows version. The notable exceptions are many antivirus programs and drivers.

  • Difference between (minidump) and (memory.dmp)?

    Separated from this thread.

is there a difference between (minidump) and (memory.dmp) I use windows 10

The main difference is size. Memory dumps are larger and contain a bit more information.

In most situations, it is best to configure the computer to produce a dump of memory the kernel in case of system failure. A complete memory dump is a very large file to manage so it is more convenient to work with kernel images of memory when you try to resolve the blue screen errors.

I suggest that you change your dump file settings to produce an image kernel memory. Select the hotkey Win + X , Control Panel, system, advanced system settings, Advanced tab, and click the button settings to start recovery. Under system failure, select the checkboxes before to write an event to the system log and restart automatically. Change the option Write debugging information by using the scroll to the right for image kernel memory. Click OK , and in the next window, click apply and OK. Restart your computer to apply the changes.

  • What is the difference between objects and units in coherence?

What is the difference between objects and units in coherence?
    For example, < high-units >

The units are the number of entries of data stored in the coherence of caches.
The high-units element corresponds to the maximum number of 'units' (entered data, including units in order to backup, not even with objects) allowing to store in a particular JVM for a specific cache coherence. In addition, this number should be the same on all nodes (i.e. use the same cache on all nodes configuration file).
The objects are the number of entries of data stored in cache coherence excluding the entries for other purposes (for example, backup).

RE: To get Coherence to report object sizes you need to set the unit-caculator to binary.

If you don caculator-unit set, consistency can use the default setting (set) to the report.

  • For a given file, how to add and change file properties on the Details tab, for properties that are not in the properties list?

Now, I am aware of the modification of the properties of the file is simple in Windows 7 Explorer. Select a file, 'Properties', then tab "Details".  Some are not editable, and that's understandable.  Click on next to any area classified as year, Genre, Publisher, etc. and the apply.  No problems so far.

Then of course in Explorer, when you right click on a column header, you get several choices of column beyond the usual that is displayed by default; Date, the Type, size, etc.  But, there is an option "More...", which has up to now, MUCH more useful properties to choose from, such as the model project, Department, job statusand so on.

    It's fantastic!

But when you look into the details of any given file, none of these additional properties even are listed to be edited.  Why offer to view these details, if you don't change them, or add them to different files?  I must be missing something.  I do not need to add my own custom details, this additional list has a choice, that I need; If only I could edit the files to get this info.

How to add and change these properties to files?  Word, Excel, MP4, AVI, JPG; I would add these properties, so I can set directly in the Solution Explorer, as you would by name or Type.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My experience is that most of these 'extra fields' no existence not as fields in the directory (folder) itself.  On the contrary, these fields exist in the target file itself. Each file type has its own format and established file except for the types of files that belong to Microsoft, Microsoft cannot control or arbitrarily change the format of a particular file type.

For example, a ".jpg" file  The format of this file type allows a large number of areas such as comments, Tags, date taken, opening, device manufacturer and so on.  If you go into the properties on a .jpg file, you will see a lot of them and will be able to change.  After changing any of these fields, you will find that the file itself has been changed to contain this information (as can be verified by the parity of the file and to come check upward with a different checksum).  If you display one of these fields in Explorer and 10000 ".jpg" files in this folder, then Explorer must open each of these 10000 files to extract the data in the corresponding fields, you have chosen to display.  May take some time.

Compare that to the same picture saved to a file ".bmp".  The ".bmp" format has no provisions for any of these fields, so you will not be able to view, save, edit, or sort by them.  If the editable fields are directly related to the type of file that is displayed.

Microsoft has apparently interviewed a lot of file types and made a compilation of the editable fields in each type of file and the Union of the selected fields in which can be displayed and modified.   That's apparently what you see in the option «More...» ».   So, in summary, the file type determines which fields are available for editing and posting.

A little patience please.  Don't forget that you are awake does not mean that other people are.  I'd leave a Thread open for at least 24 hours before bumping.

I'm sorry to tell you that invokeLater runs the executable on the wire of the event, not a separate Thread.  If you have actually started the treatment in the very thing you're trying to get away from.

You must run the execution in DownloadCombiner treatment in a separate Thread.  This is why, in the article, which I suppose you DownloadCombiner, it extends Thread.

Just for the record, DownloadCombiner is here:

  • Record the path of the image in MySQL and store files

    Hello

I have a form that saves the data in a MySQL database. In this form, there are four files of entry type to download images.

    Everything is done in Dreamweaver.

What I have to do is store the path of file in MySQL and the file in a folder of the Web site.

This is my code in the page and I am stuck don't know what someone can help.
