  This error started before even El Capitan. I am able to receive emails but not send.

  Thunderbird ran an auto update yesterday. Then it just stopped working. It does not connect with the Comcast email server. How can we get Thunderbird set, there is no tool in the toolbar to enable the debugging and correction of program errors.

  The problem solved itself, Thunderbird has just started working. I followed the thread suggested by Christ1 and found none of it applied. No malware, no browser, no certificate error security block. I did, however, in Thunderbird, under Tools/Options/General uncheck the button for "When Thunderbird launches, show the Start Page in the message box." I do know that if this helped, Thunderbird still do not access Comcast mail for hours after that, even with several stops and restarts.

  It would be nice if JavaMail did a more complete job of checking the syntax of an e-mail address, at least in 'strict', but 'invalid' mode addresses meet quite frequently, and syntax checking does not tell you if the address is actually valid, so JavaMail he leaves to the mail server to make the actual validation.

  What is the attachment file extension? If you know what program should open with, just do the following.
   
  1. download and save the attachment to the office.
  2. right click on the saved file.
  3. Select: Open with on the shortcut menu.
  4. click on: choose [default] program.
  5. Select: The appropriate program.
  6. check: always use the selected program to open this type of file.
  7. click on OK.
   
  This should allow you to open these attachments directly from email address now.

  1. make sure that your e-mail program is your default program.

  2. make sure that your Internet Explorer, or your main browser has all its faults.

  You can do both of the above by following these steps...

  Start button > right column, click default programs > click Set Your Default programs...

  If not, click on choose by default for this program > check all boxes below the list > click on save when finished.

  I have an HTML5 form that allows the user to select 1 of 6 provinces of Costa Rica. If they do not select a Province, I use php code to send a NULL value and the other selections research of the form looking for all Provinces. If they choose a province, we are looking for database records that are found in this province.  Currently I use the value = '%' as the selected value if the user does not have a choice. It works and looks in all provinces, but I get an error of W3c checking on the value = '% '. Y at - it another way to send a NULL value.   My email does not work.

  It worked perfectly before my tent to access a few minutes ago.  It shows all my files, but I can't OPEN any emails received, ANSWER or SEND a NEW EMAIL.

  Click on an email will not open it.

  Similarly, none of the functions on the top bar will work: NEW, REPLY, DELETE, JUNK, SWEEP, MOVE TO, CATEGORIES.

  For future use, anyone having this problem, a friend just helped me to solve the problem on my computer.

  None of us understand how it worked, but I went in the section my browser TOOLS, then OPTIONS, then ADVANCED, then NETWORK options.

  He was storing data for use offline outlook.live.com.  A friend suggested removing it from the box. Yes, I did. My email has started to work after that.

  Strange thing is when I went back to check, I had just removed the thing was in the box where I had removed. Enamel is always working, well, then I don't care.

  I have no idea how it solved the problem, but he started work immediately after I did it (after not working not for a week), and it still works.
