• Recent problem that the Autoplay menu does not appear when I plug my digital cameras and devices on Windows Vista

  Recently, I had a problem in that, plugged in my camera and also my phone options auto run does not come up as they used to do.

  The cameras appear under my computer and in Device Manager but not under "Devices that you connect to your computer will be listed here" appear in the automatic game options and this area is totally blank.

  I also checked the box "Use AutoPlay for all media and devices to" check in the auto play options.  CD and USB sticks work very well.

  I have Windows Vista.  I read that Microsoft has sent a security update patch to stop the AutoRun works on Windows Vista.  I tried to turn it around by using their dose, but it doesn't seem to help.

  Any ideas anyone?

  Hi - my problem is now solved.

  Not long after reading the post above the laptop crashed and had to have a replacement hard drive.

  I just got the laptop PC repair workshop, and although there are still a lot of updates to download, I plugged the camera the hurrah the AutoPlay menu appeared.

  Obviously there is something fundamentally wrong with the laptop, but it will be interesting to see if AjutoPlay still works when all the Microsoft updates have been resettled.

  Come on MICROSOFT... why you can't find a solution for this problem... What is a camera if you can not use it with your computer... In fact, I have two Kodak digital cameras which I can't use.  You have any suggestions on how to make it work with Win8...?   I hate hate hate Win8.  Why do we consumers to buy new products so they will be compatible with Win8.  If you can not say...   Thank you for the additional information.  I thought I can be hard to interpret what you wanted.

  Well, you want to disconnect safely your digital camera to the laptop.  It seems that there is not an icon in the box "Show hidden icons" from the taskbar.  If this is the case, you have no choice but to simply disconnect it.  Although it is not recommended, I did several times over the years without causing damage.  Make sure that you have copied all your photos on your computer before you disconnect it.

• Digital camera is not pop up the autoplay box plus-Windows XP

  When I plugged my USB cable from my digital camera in the port of an AutoPlay box would pop up and ask me what I wanted to do with the photos. I accidentally clicked the box "Don't show me this agan" and now when I plug my camera into the port, the box won't pop up and I can not access my digital camera.   Solution 1: Update the drivers

   

  (1) the Device Manager open, either by right clicking on computer and then click on manage, and finally on Device Manager, or by typing devmgmt.msc in the box then find (or run) on the bottom of the start menu and press ENTER.

  (2) find the ipod, he (should) be listed under digital cameras, right click it and choose "update driver software".

  (3) select "Browse my computer for driver software".

  (4) for the location (you must have already installed itunes) use C:\Program Files\Common Apple Mobile Device Support\Drivers (replace C: for what is the letter of your system drive), and then click Next, windows will find the driver here and continue to update the driver
  (5) after the update is complete, click Finish to close the dialog box, then disconnect the ipod and plug it in again.

  Solution 2: This seems to be a known issue with the iPhone and iPod touch from Apple, I would suggest also allows you to check the link that contains the iPhone and iPod touch: Disabling digital camera notification in Windows Vista
