Dimension 4700 Maxtor hard drive

I had a look at the hard, it is over heating and I am sure it must be replaced.

However, the interface is SATA-150

Do I need to use the same interface, or can I use a SATA-300 connection in this machine? Because I am struggling to find a player with interface SATA-150 that I love.

  • Y50 Dimensions of the hard drive

I just bought a new Y50-70, and I want to replace the hard drive. The maintenance manual hardware for laptops series Y40 and Y50 indicates that the installed hard drive that comes is a 7mm 2.5-inch drive. However, I heard conflicting reports, that people have been able to fit inside their machines 9.5 mm discs.

Is there space for a larger drive hard form factor? Which have managed to install inside your machine?

I am interested because I was hoping to install a WD Black double disk, which comes with a 120 GB SSD and a 1 TB hard drive, but it's a thick disk of 9.5 mm.

AFAIK, you can adapt any standard Player 2.5 "in the Y50.

  • Aspire 7250-0209-case for hard drive

Last spring, my Aspire 7250-0209, which I would do it only had a year and a half or two, ended up with a bottle of water that leak as I was toting it to a horse show where I was going to use for some scoring. After it dried, I could get it to power upward, go light on the DVD player, I could hear the hard disc spins, but nothing happened with the screen. I tried to plug it into an external monitor and nothing happens, so I presume that the video card is fried.

Therefore, it is time to open things and reap the hard drive. I have done before with the help of a few friends knowledgeable and was able to put the hard drive in an inexpensive case that I bought online and it works more or less like an external hard drive. What I was asking is what are the physical dimensions of the hard drive for this machine and what kind of cable should I? I would buy the case ahead until I open things and started fussing with it. My other alternative is to take to a local computer shop where a friend just to have done similar work, but this guy charged $80 to do, and it's money that I prefer to use for something else.

Thanks for any advice you may have.

Thank you! Exactly what I needed to know. The last time I did, the first case that I bought was wrong and I would rather not replay error. I appreciate your help.

The best consumer SSD there is a Samsung 850 Evo. It will have the same physical dimensions as a hard drive. 2.5 inches wide and 7 mm thick. A 7mm form factor fits anywhere the will of 9.5 mm. The connectors and mounting holes are in the same places so that they are interchangeable.

  • Trouble with the new internal hard drive...

Hello, I just bought a 500 GB for my Dimension 4500 internal hard drive. When I click on my computer, it says the hard disk capacity is only 127 concerts. I think it's because the motherboard is old (I got the 4500 in 2002). Is it possible to reach the full 500 concerts (465-formatted) using this motherboard (i.e. through a BIOS upgrade or something) or 127 is the max I can get with this system?

If I need a BIOS upgrade, where can I get TI/how I do that?
