Disappearance of e-mails

I have NO idea what's going on, but all of a sudden (in the last 2-3 days) some of my "Sent" mails are endangered. They are nowhere: not in the trash, not in the Archives... they simply disappeared! I did a repair folder, but it does not help. I use Gmail and Thunderbird with my main account and also have an email account for my personal site ("[email protected]") - the problem that happens with both accounts. I haven't changed all parameters at all; I have a PC running Windows 10. Help!

I started to receive messages "over quota" on some files

You need to be a bit more specific about this.

You have a backup of your lost messages?

  • Email disappears in Windows Mail

Two questions developed with my Windows Mail program the other day.  First of all, when I open the program, I noticed the mail in my Inbox appears in bold, even though it has been read previously. Secondly, when I open the program, the mail in my Inbox which previously loaded will disappear if I close and reopen the program, or if I open one of the folders of mail and return to the Inbox.  If I transfer an email to another folder, it is safe. But if I leave it in the Inbox, it will disappear.  I'm not under McAfee like talking about some of the previous answers, and I did not install new programs.  This has been completely "out of the blue", a few days ago.  No other settings have been changed? Help, please, if you can. Thank you.

    Hello Alane2,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

You can have setup an option to hide read messages.

In your main toolbar of Windows Mail

View > current view > Hide read messages

    Change to show all

Also, I saw other posts with the same problem occurring.  They have removed that particular e-mail account.  Then closed Windows Mail and Windows Mail to reopen, re-enter the same account with all its information as before.  Many post indicated that brought mail that had disappeared.  Please let me know if this helps or if you're still having problems. I use Windows Vista and Windows Mail.  Every time I leave an email as read in my Inbox and I go into a different folder (folder sent, deleted, personal, etc.) it just completely disappears when I return to my Inbox.  If I keep as unread it will stay there until I delete it.  Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • WIndows Live Mail GONE / ALL email folders disappeared, no e-mail, project or removed!

When I turned on my desk today, out of nowhere, ALL of my folders in Live Mail e-mail had disappeared completely, there is no emails in my project, sent and deleted folders, and I only had Inbox emails of yesterday and today.  I have about 30 cases for clients, and they are my lifeline, as are sent and drafts.  The Inbox started slowly loading of emails, but still no sign of missing files.

When I went to restart my computer to try again, it is said now that "Live Mail cannot start the application was unable to open the direct mail message store and cannot locate the database of messages and files are missing, but are in a situation of"orphan"? ". And when I say OK or CANCEL, he said "WLM cannot start the application could not open the WLM message store.»  Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full"- which are filled for the record.

Help!?  I need Live Mail return, WITH my files, and the Microsoft insured subscription I paid $150 for magically cannot stop with Live Mail?  What the heck!

    Lprijthors

Please look here on your computer. If you use windows live mail (e-mail client) there should be data there.  If there is copy somewhere else and then run this to try and fix WLM

The default location is C; \user\your name\app user data (can be invisible - later) \local\Microsoft\ windows live mail

(app data are hidden you must go into Control Panel (depending on operating system) > folder options > view > display the hidden files and folders)

If you currently have problems using Windows Live Mail, please try to fix it by following these steps:

Type "Wlarp" into the search (without quotes of course), and then press enter > fix all programs WLE

    Hi Raoul,.

It seems that you are unable to find some mail from your Inbox.

    • All mails disappear or that you see some of them out there?

You can check the e-mail app settings to see if it is set to display all e-mail messages. Here's how to check that.

    1. Open the Mail application. Press the Windows key + key C .
    2. Click settings. Click accounts. Click on your account name.
    3. Under download email from, select at any time.
    4. Wait a few seconds and you should see several emails in your Inbox.

Here's an article that gives you more information. If this is not enough, please create your own thread with more information to avoid confusion.

    Thank you.

  • When I downloaded IE9 my email and folders disappeared in windows mail.

I'm running Vista on this computer. Is it possible to recoving old emails and folders?

Is no IE 9: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#15 , but it is not clear the messages.  Make sure you in Winmail opener you have put in view. Current view | Show all messages and also make sure you have the list of records or record enabled under view bar | Page layout.  If this does not help then try to compact and repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  If the messages still do not, then you can go to the message store and see if the eml files are there under the folder names (see www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#wm for background).  And in the future, beware of antivirus software that is not compatible with Windows Mail (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).  See if any of this helps.

  • Mail synchronization does not not after using CCleaner

    Hello!

Today, I used CCleaner to clean my Macbook (for the first time since I bought it). After that, all of my emails have disappeared since the Mail application.

Then I tried to re - synchronize my account GMail with my Macbook (I tried enforcement e-mail itself AND on the Internet accounts in the settings): I chose Google, then I entered my email address and my password, and I chose the apps I wanted to sync with this account (in this case, only mail). And then... Nothing happens. The list of apps is still, there is no loading icon and no matter how long wait my only option is to cancel, and nothing is synchronized.

You have no idea of what happened and how can I solve this problem? It would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Specifications :

    MacBook Pro (retina 2015)

    OS X El Capitan, v. 10.11.3

    Mail, v. 9.2 application

If you have a backup as TimeMachine you could go back to a point before you have run CCleaner. That's what I tend to do.

As a question why you felt you had to run CCleaner? In my experience, these programs on a Mac drive to create more problems than they would have been to heal.

I have a Mid 2012 MacBook PRO and you have never run anything on this subject and it still works fine.

Reading these forums for a few years, that it is the generally accepted by most as cleaners and are not worth the disk space they occupy.

  • All e-mail accounts are gone

Went on a business trip, came home and the woman told me something was wrong with Mail.  Checked and of course, all had disappeared.  Open mail and it asked me to set up a new account.  Cancel and close the post.  Began around and added my Gmail account and I got a message saying that it was a duplicate account.  Searched the community and found some people solve this problem by doing this:

"Restore the same two files (~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist and ~ / Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Accounts.plist) of a Time Machine backup solved the problem."

I checked Library/Preferences and didn't see either of these files.  Check TM a month ago and have not seen either of these files in all backups.  Searched on my Mac for them and did not filed.  Don't know what else to do here, appreciate your help in advance!

With this Finder window as the windshield, select Finder/display/display options for presenting or order - J.  When the display options opens, check "show the library folder. This should make your visible user library folder in your user folder.  Select the library.

  • Disappearance of emails from Outlook Express

    Original title: disappearance of e-mails

My emails have disappeared once opened.  This happens after Outlook Express is closed, they are not in all cases, how can I retrieve or stop this happening again?

While in the Inbox: view | Current view. Make that sure show all Messages is checked and nothing else.

  • 3 and a half months of e-mail is missing from my Inbox. Where would he go?

    original title: lack of emails

3 1/2 months of incoming messages have disappeared from my mail.  How can I reinstate them?

Now that we know it is Outlook Express...

Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :

    About file Corruption:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/IE/community/columns/filecorruption.mspx

    Recovery methods:

If you use XP/SP2 or SP3, and are fully patched, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

DBXpress run in extract disc Mode is the best chance to recover messages:
    http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/default.aspx

    And see:
    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4

A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:
    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

  • Keep E-mail on Windows 8 Mail App

I recently bought a new laptop which, of course, provided with Windows 8 and the new e-mail program.

I've used Incredimail but what I've read of will not attempt to install this time.

I also use Outlook at work, so am familiar with it, even if I don't like it.

In any case, both of these mail programs, it is possible to create new folders to help sort mail, and these files keep the mail in them until the point at which they are removed.

I have succeeded to create a folder in Windows 8 Mail and thought that I had a crush, but the mail that he disappeared after that month I put in place for emails to shown.

I used my files as a quick and easy way to sort and save things I wanted to keep and really miss me.  Is it possible in Windows 8, I've not yet discovered to do.  So far I have cut and paste into Word documents, but it is frankly a bit of a pain.  Then something else I do re - sends things to myself to keep them informed, but the Inbox is just get clogged.

If I put my sync on the "anytime" mode I guess that when messages are old enough to disappear from my Virgin account then they will disappear also on Mail, so that's not an answer?

    Hope you can help.

Thank you for taking the trouble to look at this thread, but once more the real question was not understood.

It is not save attachments that is the issue, but keeping the important emails on a permanent basis on my computer.  With Live Mail for Windows 8, all massages disappear after a maximum of 3 months.
Since starting this thread and does not all useful responses, I installed another provider of messaging and solved the problem in this way.  It seems not as nice as Live Mail, but at least he leave my mail for as long I want it.
