Disks burned with Windows DVD Maker do not play using a DVD player

Copy multiple DVDs

I used Windows DVD Maker to copy the same video on multiple disks.  He gave me the option to burn one after the other and aoutomatically finalized their.  When I cam to play on my TV via the DVD player only two worked.  He wanted to come with no video even though she acknowledged there was a disk there.  They all work on my computer and yes I checked that they have been completed, but none had the opportunity to finalize so assume that they are.  Can someone help please!

  • Windows Movie Maker will not play

I made a video for a school project. It was published and implemented well enough. I taped a cd, he brought to the school, and the video wouldn't play. How to make it compatible?

    It works that way.
The video that you have recorded on the CD only plays in your computer.

So that the video be played in other computers or DVD players, you need to burn video to a DVD using Windows DVD creation.

Windows DVD creation is included in Vista Home premium and Ultimate.
If you versio of Vista is not one of the above, you will need to install a 3rd party DVD Maker.

  • Sometimes the clips in Windows Movie Maker will not play during preview and not at all after publication...

Hello!  I just create a movie using Windows Movie Maker (HP Pavilion dv6000/Windows Vista Home Premium).  During the PREVIEW, the first part of the video of my film sometimes will not play (view) while the audio continues. Sometimes he will play (view).  All clips are saved in the right place, the file formats are correct, and everything else that I think is done correctly.  In addition, after the publication of the video, he did the same thing; some parts of the beginning is not playing (see) only the audio.  I believe that this can have started happening after a few times when an error message pops up saying something like "Video player has stopped responding, but has revived with success...» "or something like that.

Now, I tried a few things to try to fix the problem.  I noticed that if I take the transitions and effects on the clips then they play but every time. I don't know why this happens only at the beginning of the movie and not all of the film since I also have clips with transitions and effects in the end.  Help!  This is my first time using this program/do a movie (and it's really good if I must say for me... he can win an Oscar! * smile *), but I wonder if I did something by mistake at the origin of this problem...

My computer turns off if I try to burn a DVD with Windows DVD Maker.  It was working fine and now it will not get past a certain percentage without stop.  What can I do?

    Hello Timbay1,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

What has changed in your environment, as it was working before and now does not work? Have you installed any new software or updates?
It can be 3rd party software created a conflict with your codecs and you need to re - register.

You could check and see if you have compatible Codecs installed in Windows Vista.
or you can try to use the codec for Vista Codec Pack - pack

There are other 3rd party codecs but I can't guarantee that they will work with Windows Vista.

Please answer back with an update.

  • How to capture a video from a home made dvd to use to create a video edited with Windows Movie Maker

I have a DVD made home to a sporting event that my son has played in. I'm trying to get the DVD video in a file on my PC so that I can use it with Windows Movie Maker. It is probably a 'rookie' question, but I couldn't find what I needed by using 'help' or 'search', so I hope someone in this forum can tell me how to do this.

If you're running Vista Home Premium or Ultimate, you can
be able to import files into Movie Maker directly from the
DVD... the files you want are in the VIDEO_TS folder and have
    a VOB extension.

Also... the info is maybe worth a visit:

DVD Movie Maker 6... in Vista Home Basic
    http://www.Papajohn.org/newsletters/185-DVDtoMM6inVistaHomeBasic.html

When you insert the DVD in your DVD player... close
all the windows that can open and then go to... Start /.
Computer... right click the icon for the DVD player

The files you need from the DVD are the. VOB files.
You will find them in the VIDEO_TS folder. Copy them
in a folder on your hard drive.

First... just try to rename one of the. VOB files to
. MPG or .avi and see if it will matter in Movie Maker.
If import works... drag the file to the timeline and
Economy/publication it to .wmv or .avi format. Then...

(FWIW... you can probably play the files renamed

If you are unable to import the files they need to be converted
