  Original title: at Microsoft course to resolve this ONGOING problem, & VERY BORING PROBLEM with his Windows security updates?

  Morning everyone,

  There was considerable number of complaints about the failure of Microsoft to solve the problem with its updates of Windows, including updates security for XP, Office 2003, the removal tool malicious and the infamous KB2538242!  I saw these varied complaints not just here, but on some other sites as well forum.

  In the evening of Tuesday, July 12, 2011, I once more has received notification of Update icon in my taskbar and clicked on it to start the updates.  According to the list, there were 5 so-called updates downloaded & installed... as shown below: (my auto-mises update is updated every day at 01:00):

  KB2555917 (a security update for XP)

  KB2538242

  KB2493523 (a security update for Office 2003)

  KB890830 (updated Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool)

  KB2507938 (a security update for XP)

  SUPPOSEDLY... .these updates have been installed.  But, just as happened previously, Microsoft Update icon still reappears in my taskbar within 20 minutes the so-called updates being completed!  Yet once, I went through this cycle of "download & installation" these supposed updates 4 different times before visiting the account that Microsoft has NOT YET SOLVED THIS CURRENT QUESTION! There is absolutely NO help is available, whether of Microsoft at all... except if you're loaded with money to spend on paying them to offer some apology for the problem.  Here ARE the UPDATES security AND in accordance with the PROTOCOLS of MICROSOFT, MICROSOFT IS supposed TO BE PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR THE QUESTIONS OF THIS TYPE! 

  When the problem instead of turning its back on its customers with the blade go Microsoft to wake up and solve this problem continues is to excuse this "oh, there is no support available for these security update issues... unless you are willing to PAY SOME COSTS FOR the SERVICE?  (It was the response I got from one of the support staff for the customer to Microsoft by phone, said by the way!)

  You VERY DEFINITELY have an ongoing responsibility to your Microsoft customers.   What you do to solve this maddening, growing problem, and how a Win XP SP3 client can get any help?

  Hello.  I'm running vista 64 bit sp2 and I seem to have a registry error with windows install.  Whenever I try to install/uninstall a program, I get the error message

  "The application failed to start because msi.dll not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. »
  Maybe related, but when I try to run any windows program (examples are programs office, expressions) I get the error message
  "the specified module is not found.
  Also, I can't do windows updates.  For the latter, I get:
  error code 80070641
  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Unfortunately I do not have the original installation disks for vista, or all the backup files.

  It seems to be that some of the files windows install is corrupt.

  I have some steps that may help you:

  Method 1: Make sure that the Windows Installer service is running.

  a. click Startand type services.msc , and then press enter.

  (b) in the services window, locate Windows Installer service in the services list.

  c. check that the status is started. If the condition column is empty, right-click Windows Installer, and then select start.

  d. If you get error trying to force start the Windows Installer service, try to change the Startup Type to Automatic (default is Manual), then

  e. restart the computer.

  f. If all goes although you should, after the analysis, see the following message "theWindows resource protection did not find any breach of integrity".

  g. once the scan is finished, close the command prompt window, restart the computer and check.

  Method 2:

  a. try to uninstall Windows install using the Windows Installer Cleanup utility:

  b. restart the computer.

  c. download and install the latest version of Windows Installer by downloading from the link given below:

  d. try to install the program.

  I am running on a new laptop with Windows7 64 - bit OS.  I have already installed Itunes v9.0.3.15 on this computer, but when I open Itunes I got the following error:

  "Warning.  ITunes has not been installed correctly.  If you want iTunes to be able to retrieve information from the internet CD, you should reinstall iTunes. »

  Very well, but every time that I try to uninstall or update Itunes by installing the latest version, I get the following error at halfway through the installation process, on which the installation rolls back immediately and I'm stuck:

  «Could not open key: HKEY_Local_Machine32\software\classes\.pcast.»  Check that you have sufficient access to that key or contact your support team. » 

  I've looked everywhere.  I saw a lot of similar questions, but none exactly the same thing on other forums, and no resolution to other questions helped.

  I don't have this key in my registry editor because it is a 64-bit OS, so there is no "HKEY_Local_Machine32" only "HKEY_Local_Machine."  I have ensured that I do infact have full access to the 'HKEY_Local_Machine\software\classes\.pcast' , but the installation/uninstallation process is looking for the machine32 key.  NOTE: I am trying to install the 64-bit version of Itunes.

  The itunes forums have not proven useful.  If anyone has experience/solved this problem, I would certainly appreciate any suggestions.

  To register permission number, install and run SubInACL to your computer to fix the permission issues.

  At some point in the past (I don't know the exact date) Adobe "merged" the original update manager in cloud Update Manager, which means that you no longer use your original update manager

  The latetest (cloud) update sometimes does not work with old programs... Try to install your updates manually

• Exit Code 20 - installation Illustrator CS5.1 on WIndows 7 64 bit

  Hi all, I hope I'm in the right place to post this question.

  I'm looking to get a new PC running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit to replace my current Windows XP PC.

  I was running since the first installation of Illustrator CS2 and upgraded to CS5.1 in 2011. I need to check that Illustrator CS 5.1 will be ADO correctly on a Windows 7 computer, so I tried to install my copy as a free 30 trial, that the Installer offers me an option.

  Then begins to calculate the time to install and then get up and say that the installation has encountered any errors. Then, there is an Exit Code 20.

  Someone has an idea, what is the problem.

• To CS5 updates fail to download on my new MacBook Pro

  I recently took delivery on a brand new MacBook Pro 15 "with Yosemite. I still own CS5 and I installed the basic software and did all the updates to the operating system, but for all CS5 updates will not be installed.

  I open Manager install Adobe, select available updates, I get the download to the end progress, but ultimately the downloads fail.

  Here is what I get in the Adobe Manager:

  I have a new computer with windows 8.  I went to my account and downloaded cs3 and installed. Then I tried to download and install my cs5 update and it will not be installed.  She will unpack the files, but will not be at the software level. I'm guessing it may have something to do with "install as Administrator" irritation of windows 8, but I can't figure out how to make this facility as is 2 files with a downloader.  For cs3 I just save on my drive, then a click right and choose 'run as administrator '.

  I've updated a web creation CS2 to cs4 and cs5 premium. I want to uninstall my suite for a new installation on the new computer, but the CD was lost on the road. Where can I download the sources? I have all my keys to license, no problem with that.

  CS2 product activation has been abandoned, but you can use your old serial number as a serial number eligible for CS4.

  You are entitled to replacements for CS2, but do not use the upgraded replacement for CS4 serial numbers, I don't think they will work.

  The CS/CS2 activation servers have been removed. Download CS2 and use the new number given to the right of the download link.

  I had problems with my iMac crashing since buying 12 months ago and after that 2 prior clean installs, I'm finally resorted to manually install all applications after a third clean installed.

  I have CS5 Design Standard (on disk) was updated since CS2 Premium. I tried to install CS5 put can't get pass the page where he wants to put me in the serial number of the previous product - it does not offer CS2 as an option in the menu dropdown. Only CS3 and more. I have the correct serial numbers registered with Adobe and CS5 update was purchased to work with CS2 and has worked for the past 5 years

  First install CS2 will not work because it's a Power PC app I download a copy of CS5 now in the hope that the installation process will be happy with the serial number alone, although I'm guessing he will want me reselect the previous product and it will give me the option to select CS2?

  I had to ask Adobe to generate a new serial number that will bypass I hope the part of CS2.

  I tried several times with the same result.  "When I click on 'customer support' at the bottom of the page I am directed to a page called".

  Upgrade error: "this serial number is not for a product calling it".

  However, the serial number is the one that is registered on my Adobe CS5

  How can I download and install the update indicated the CS5?

  Or you can try and see on the repair of the system and then if your disk utility can

  See the Macintosh HD, as a boot volume, you could restart from OS X Recovery to

  the Mac system, to see if this solves the problem. There may be more than one cause.

  You could try and boot into OS X Recovery, utilities out there, and other options are available.
