  We receive the date information in the format DDMMYYYY and have the card in the number field. I want to show this as dd/mm/yyyy date info in the report.
  For example, if the date is 10072009 (10 July 2009), it should be displayed as 07/10/2009 in the report.
  
  I tried to
  (a) CAST the channel number, but which was not allowed.
  (b) first to cast the integer and then cast in character. But when I used the RIGHT function to get the last 4 characters, it did not return any values.

  You can do this by using the CAST and String functions.

  Here is an example of the formula-note that I use recipes counts as base, this can be replaced by any number, whole or currency field:

  LEFT (CAST (account. (("" Annual sales "AS CHAR), 2) | '/' || INSERT (SUBSTRING (CAST (account. ((("" Annual sales "AS CHAR) OF 3), 3.0, ' / ')

  See the online help for the full description and use of the various functions:
  LEFT - clips off the first characters
  INSERT - adds a character string
  Substring - clips off the last characters
  CAST - convert from one type to another
  || -double pipe is concatenation

  Your error may have tried to Cast to a String - there is not of type 'String', CHAR performs the same function.

• When I export the report to EXCEL files and filter the data, it will display incorrect data

  In OBIEE 11.1.1.6, when I export the report to EXCEL file and open this file to view all the data, it is correct.
  However, as the amount of data is so, so I add filter for each column (click on the sorting-> filter filter)
  When I select data in the filters, I'm afraid that I find the value of 'White' in the last line in the filter area, but in the table, there no null data. Why? Are you facing the same issue?
  Secondly, when I select a value, it will generate a data line.
  
  For example:
  2008 - Region1
  -The region.2
  -Elle3
  2009 - Region1
  -The region.2
  -Elle3
  
  
  When I select 2008 data in EXCEL, it will display unexpected data, as below:
  2008 - Region1

  Exactly... If you export to the format you will not face question of null data or incorrect when filtered.

  Yes, or create a hidden report BEEP setting with the name you want and the default ": xdo_user_name" (without ""). And on the report that you call the parameter with the username!

  Laughing out loud. what David wanted to create a custom field in your report to step 1 and initialize it as CURRENT_DATE.
  then, at step 2 of report design, use the identifier of this new column instead of @1

  I have a full idrectory of data from overtime, and I think of search in the directory and display the data files for specific dates. I only started this encoding yet but I figure I'll take the brain of some SMEs here labview and start in the right direction. My goal is to go through a comprehensive directory of data taken for a month or MORE csv files and select the data to process and display office files the date of its registration. If I take the data of last week, last month or last minute, it should just treat as an exact or more.

  And I'm interrogating him with a date condition. The value of the date would come from a page of the apex (date element) element that could be left to null, and then he return null values in the report.

  How can I add a condition for the column nvl? I tried

  = null does not work, so NVL is also useless I know. To query this table I want to do something like "when the date is null or date =: P23_DATE' but which returns two records are null and the date of entry."

  So far, I have in the formula in the column:

  I am facing a problem, we have created new accounts to display currency data. STAT data is loaded to the cost center level.
  When we create the report on these accounts, I see displaying data as a total for all cost centers. I need data be displayed by each company centre and the cost.
  
  There is another account that appear as a detail.
  
  Please help me to know why these accounts appear as TOTAL.

  I am able to display the date but not the time. Also the time should be updated on its own at the last second.

  For the second question, you can search this forum on the "load lov. You are not the first who raised this issue... and there are a lot of answers there.

  And now: the time of the server. This can be very difficult, because the time on the server can depends on the physical location (and advanced the time on the server) and if you are using zones, it will be even harder. If your users see once on their screen as real-time, you will get a lot of questions.
  And you don't want to update the time (from the server) every second... every second a call from database to get the sysdate to all your users seems a very bad idea. However, what you might do is starting with the actual SYSDATE from the server and pass it as an argument to the clock function and add a second every second... But it will change the minutes and hours also... Overall: it sounds like a bad idea.
