  I have not access to an Apex 3 environment to verify this, but I think that interactive reports of Apex 4 save the filters slightly differently and an attempt to mimic this functionality using IR conditions would fail.

  The only solution I can think of right now is to have an additional column that returns 0 or 1 - for example:

  SELECT FIELD1,
  FIELD2,
  FIELD3,
  CASE WHEN (FIELD1 IS NULL OR FIELD2 IS NULL OR FIELD3 IS NULL) THEN 1 ELSE 0 END INCLUDE_NULLS
  FROM YOURTABLE
  

  then apply a filter to INCLUDE_NULLS = 1

  Hi all
  Sorry for the nub question, but if there is a way to create and save 'report' with the filter condition using a function?
  What I want to do is to create an interactive table called TASK report.
  Table has two columns I want to use for filtering:
  FDate - DATE - date
  TDate - DATE - to date
  Then, I need to create multiple saved reports:
  last week the tasks = where FDate between sysdate - 7 AND sysdate...
  last month tasks = where FDate between ADD_MONTH(sysdate,-1) AND sysdate...
  but,
  Interactive report filter does not accept sysdate or calls to functions ADD_MONTH.
  Is there an easy way to configure this feature?

  Hi Thomas,

  Take a look at the type of filter 'Row' in the interactive reports filter dialog box. This allows more dynamic filters, such as those involving SYSDATE or ADD_MONTHS calls. See also the next thread for some more details on this:

• Increase the width of the column interactive report filter

  When you click on a column on an IR header, a filter in the form of a widow of pop - up appears, which has the list of values. I have an IR column where the values are long, such that they do not fit in the filter area. As there is no horizontal scroll bar, so the value is truncated.

  Is it possible to increase the width of the column filters say 3 inches for one or all columns, or even display a horizontal scroll bar so that the values do not get truncated?

  Sandeep,

  Each element of the page can be referenced as a variable binding in a report.

  If you have created your LOV and named "P1_MY_LOV". You can reference only your report such as:

  select emp_name
    from emp
   where department = :P1_MY_LOV

  Keep in mind the selection lists have two values. A display value and a return value. The return value is what is actually used by the variable binding list of selection, not the display.

• Problem with report filter (security issue)

  I'm having a problem with a filter on one of my reports. We report a listing all units of the organization. Unity in this report can be clicked to go to B report that shows the details of this unit.
  
  When a user accesses A report, they should be able to see all the units, but if they click on a unit that they are not Member, B report should show no results.
  
  If they click on a unit that they BELONG to one, then the B report should display correctly for them.
  
  I have a session variable that gets their unit number and confirmed that it works.
  
  My filter on report B is:
  The year is invited
  AND
  (Unit is equivalent to / is in NQ_SESSION.) Unit AND is invited)
  
  I'm assuming that this filter only results would show if the user clicks on a unit (in the report) that they belong to. However, what is happening is that if a user clicks on a unit that they belong not to them, it still shows the results in the report B for this unit.
  
  Does anyone have ideas on this one?
  
  My only other option is to use a CASE statement on report with URL GO so it only allows users to click on the units they belong to- but I would rather avoid that because go the URL isn't really open the report in a page that maintains the appearance of the rest of the dashboard.

  protect this filter - unit is equivalent to / in NQ_SESSION. Unit

  When you click the button filter options, you will see the option for the filter to protect. This limits the filter unchanged after the wick down. I guess your session variable to work properly.

• Report filter conditions interactive apex 4.2

  I've just updated APEX 4 to 4.2 and will have a bit of a problem to find user filter conditions.

  In the old version, I did an oracle package out of filter user of wwv_flow_worksheet_conditions conditions and build applications based on them.  However, in 4.2, they don't seem to be inserted into the table when I set a filter.

  They are now stored in a new place or could I do something wrong?  I had a quick search, but I couldn't find anything about it.

• Smart Display report list of members of level 0 as [Parent]. [Child] instead of just kid

  All,

  I'm having a problem with a report created in Smart View which worked perfectly last week in 11.1.2.2 but am now having problems with in 11.1.2.3.  What is happening now is the level 0 children demonstrate them as [Parent]. [Child] instead of a child.  Please see below for more details.

  The original report has listed as members:

  CC010000877920 TtlOperExp CostOfGoodsSold

  CC010000301300 TtlOperExp TtlOpEx

  When I get the report now, members are listed as:

  [Another Divex - gross]. [CC010000877920]     TtlOperExp CostOfGoodsSold

  [Another Divex - gross]. [CC010000301300]     TtlOperExp TtlOpEx

  where other Divex - Gross is the parent.

  I don't find in Smart View or EPMA settings where can be found in this setting.

  Important notes:

  • When you are connected to the EPMA 11.1.2.2 Essbase database created originally
  • Now connected to the EPMA 11.1.2.3 Essbase data base
  • Does not occur when it is connected to the 11.1.2.2 database
  • When we have recreated from scratch in Excel report, the behavior is the same
  • Does not happen with HFM by operating a similar report (based on versions version)
  • The repeated member option is not set in Smart View
  • When I choose to run the report with the selection of the member name and description, the parent does not appear on the Member's name (we want only the report to display the member name, not the alias)
  • Connected to Excel 2010
  • Smart View version is 11.1.2.3.000 (Build 157)

  Any kind of help, you can provide would be appreciated!

  I noticed that conditions of IR filter between the columns of different report as identical are always "AND-ed' together.
  
  My users need create IR filter conditions that are 'GOLD - ed' together.

  Once you click on "Filter", you will see two options - "Column" and "Row". Use 'Row' and there you can enter the complex conditions.

  Do you want the ability of users to be able to write SQL themselves query filters or this just something you can do?

  I had a very similar situation is the past and I created just a public report I came with a very long work around by changing the actual query

  I used a case statement as a column in the query. It's on the top of my head and I obviously don't have work sorry for the mistakes of your query:

  SELECT
    us.user_id,
    us.username,
    'consulant' = (CASE
       WHEN EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM consultant_services cs WHERE cs.service_name like 'RIGHT%' AND cs.n_consultant_fk = us.user_id)
    THEN
      1
    ELSE
      2)
    END
  FROM
    users us;
  

  Then, in your interactive report, you can have a filter to advise and assign consultant = 1

  Also, you don't need to see the consultant to the users column

• Can't see Pivot display report Navigated.

  Hello all-
  
  I have a report from the homepage as well as a report of navigation that is bound to a column of the report of the home page.
  I used the Pivot views for boh reports.
  
  However, I could see Pivot translates on the dashboard for the main report, but when I navigate to the second report, it is not displayed in Pivot mode (I need the totals that can be obtained through view pivot).

  Insted of navigation to a report to give the navigation to a page. Create a separate page for the report (pivot) sailed and hide the page. Then try it will work.
