²Ý                 ----------------------------------------> Getting a junk character instead of chinese
If I was using putty, are the steps above enough to get the Chinese characters?
Our ssh client is Tectia (no putty).
According to the ML, below the SSH client is configured correctly to use the features of globalization.
+ The correct setting of the NLS_LANG in environments Unix [ID 264157.1] +.
Googling 'Tectia + Chinese' return any useful results

I understand that you're talking about Windows SSH Client.

Putty, you define:

$ export LANG = zh_CN. UTF-8
$ export LC_ALL = zh_CN. UTF-8
$ export NLS_LANG = 'SIMPLIFIED CHINESE_CHINA. AL32UTF8.

and configure Putty in window-> translation to use UTF - 8.

There is nothing on this topic on the Tectia Web site and in their textbooks, so my best guess is that the customer requires codepage Windows works properly. In this case, you must set your locale by default Windows (locale setting for non-Unicode programs) system in Chinese and use the following settings on the server:

$ export LANG = zh_CN. GBK
$ export LC_ALL = zh_CN. GBK
$ export NLS_LANG = 'SIMPLIFIED CHINESE_CHINA. ZHS16GBK ".

Check with "local-a" as the parameter zh_CN. GBK is supported on your system.

  • How to display Chinese characters in Windows 7 Home Premium?

    I see Chinese characters very well in my browser, but all I see are boxes instead the characters for the programs on my computer (running Windows 7 Home Premium). What I want to know is this: is there a way to display Chinese computers in windows?

    Before I am flooded with a bunch of useless answers telling me to install the "language pack", I must repeat: I'm under Windows 7 HOME PREMIUM. Yes, I tried going to Microsoft Updates and download the language pack. Unfortunately, I can't see the link for me to download the language pack, since I am running Home Premium, but in operating systems, the ability to see the other languages has been included. In other words, just because I'm running updated the operating system compared to some of the older operating systems, I don't see another language, unless I pay update.
    Seriously, Microsoft? Seriously?
    Also, I have in fact look around here to try to find a solution to my problem. Unfortunately, no one ever really answered it. Because the only problem here seems to be a complete disregard of the user and the will to pull as much money on Windows users unhappy. Windows, that is why your stock is lagging. And why I must say that you are unable to many ways to Apple. But if there is a solution, please, by all means, I'm willing to change my assessment.
    Sincerely,
    A frustrated and unhappy Windows user.

    Well, the answer you don't hear or see is the only solution.

    Take or leave.

    Note: Multilingual User Interface Pack MUIs are available in Windows 7 ultimate through Windows Update as optional updates. They are not installed automatically. If you are using Windows 7 Enterprise, contact your system administrator for more information about installing additional languages.

  • Firefox cannot display Chinese characters correctly. How to fix?

    I have portable firefox with the add-on Chinese language pack, but whenever I open any website in Chinese, the characters are not correct this so I couldn't recognize them.

    Firefox cannot display CJK characters unless East Asian language support and CJC fonts are installed.

    XP this is not the case by default because two support East Asian languages and languages (C.i.) complex script must be installed separately.

    If you will not be able to see the Chinese characters, unless you install far East support.

    Otherwise, you will need to use another computer.

  • How to make windows XP SP3 display Chinese characters correctly in the programs?

    I am running Windows XP SP3 and I need Chinese language to view a program. (in Windows 2000 it displays very well) I installed East Asian language packs and the Chinese buttons now display gibberish. Y at - it installation work best for the language to Chinese? I went in the section advanced and made sure everything I checked options Chinese had it but still the same... I followed the links to "install files for East Asian without CD-ROM.
    http://forums.techarena.in/Windows-XP-support/873146.htm"but that doesn't give me what I have on XP SP3 ORIGINAL CD. Y at - it a fix for this or is the police by default for windows is not compatible with the Chinese language?

    Please help and if you could not mark as 'responded' unless you actually answer my question.

    Just in case where U ignored my above features:
    Windows XP with SP3.
    Already installed the files for East Asian CD and download.
    At the default font on the desktop.

    Ok... I thought about it, you must set your "format" in the regional settings in the option "Chinese (simplified, PRC) ' for the installed language pack to work for Chinese characters. My programs now display the correct characters. I imagine that by selecting the right 'Format' to use will help out with all the other languages also.

    FYI: I had to do that very thing on a machine Windows 7 has not been posted by the correct characters. I fixed it the same way :-)

  • Special characters could not load DB via SQL * MORE

    Hi, I have a pl as .accidentally sets sql script which will insert data in database. The question is there are some records are missing and these missing records contains a special character: Sansao and Strasse. The strange was if I run the script via F5 (Toad), all data can be inserted successfully but run through SQL * MORE (Toad), all records that contain special characters are not inserted.

    Anyone here know why it didn't load these special characters via SQL * MORE?

    Probably because you have given unicode (multi byte charsets) you read with a customer of standard single-byte character set.

    It's SILLY to loading data using SQL * more. It's the wrong tool used for loading the data. It does not support the bind variable. It doesn't support liaison in bulk. It does not support direct path inserts. It is not SQL * Loader.

  • display format is disabled in sql * more

    Hello all;

    my display format is disabled in sql * more... That's what I see in sql * more
    Create_Da
    John
    15-SEP-11
    When I type in the following sql statement
    select * from t_mobile;
    How can I get the display format instead
    ID          Create_date
    John        15-SEP-11
    any help is appreciated. Thank you.

    Your ID field looks a bit too wide for your data. Running this should help:

      column id format a40

    This tells Oracle to show the value of the id column using 40 character spaces.

  • SQL * more the "prompt" command does not display a semicolon (;)

    In a script, I have a command prompt which wrote a useful message in a queue. The final character to be displayed by the command is a semicolon (;). The semicolon is not displayed. The same thing happens when I run the command from a SQL * over the command line. Here is the command and its output:

    SQL > PROMPT seeks access: SELECT * FROM < table_name > WHERE rowid = '< rowid > ';
    seeks access: SELECT * FROM < table_name > WHERE rowid = '< rowid >.

    Can someone tell me why the semicolon is not shown, and what I need to do to make it appear?

    Thank you
    Bill

    Try

    SQL > PROMPT seeks to access: SELECT * FROM  WHERE rowid='';;
    seeks to access: SELECT * FROM  WHERE rowid='';

    SQL * more is likely to interpret the single semicolon as the terminator of sql.
