  What do you mean with this (x 86)? Have you installed the drivers from the Vista x 64 folder or both, or quite the installer?

  The maximum supported memory speed depends on the speed of the FSB.
  I m not 100% sure that FSB supports this device, but I guess that it s 667 MHz.

  In this case, all the compatible memory modules may support max with 667 Mhz speed.
  If you use the modules of 800 Mhz, max speed will remain at 667 Mhz.

  However, you must use modules that support these specs: DDR2 (PC2-5300) 200 - PIN SODIMM

  Someone else sick of Vista. I bought a new laptop Toshiba P100-400 March 31 of this year. I have now bought a copy of Windows XP 64 bit to replace.

  I downloaded all the drivers, but now, when you try to install I find the driver Nvidia is false: said the windows version does not: probably a problem of 32 bits.   I downloaded and unpacked. It contains three options:
  2 don't buttons, button 6, no button but there is no readme etc to tell me which version is my P100-160.

  Satellite P100 laptop computers were shipped with different hardware specifications!
  You check the full name for laptop (P100-xxx) and visit the Toshiba driver page.

  Choose the right laptop series (you can find the serial number on the label) and download the XP graphics driver for the graphics card right!

  If you are not able to find the right graphic driver for XP, I would recommend research for a compatible graphics card manufacturing sites.

  First of all how to find the type of ram I was wheather it's 533 mhz or 667?
  As I was looking to buy 667 sticks, that would happen if I put 667 in 533 locations or vice-versar

  Secondly, I rang a place asking a price on RAM and they said if I put more then 2 gigabytes on my laptop it would be and I quote "BLOW UP".
  I was a bit confused when this chick said that as it says in the online manual I can have up to 4 GB in my laptop.

  Check your chipset that was installed in your laptop. Then check the properties and specifications of the chipset, and you will know how much it takes care of the RAM.

  As Akuma already said you need to use the 533 or the 667, but I wouldn't mix the RAM modules. This could cause some compatibility problems.

  My P100-160 provided with Windows Vista pre-installed, but until now I feel of it is poor to say the least! So I'd like to return the easy to use Windows XP.

  Could you get it someone please let me know if there is something special I have to do in order to get XP to run properly. I've been reading through some of the questions on the forums on this topic, but want a nice simple step 1, step 2, etc. to ensure that I do the things first.

  Do everything simply if you want to install the XP. During the installation of XP, you will need to format the HARD disk, partition to install XP on the laptop.
  Then, after the installation of the OS, you could install the drivers of Toshiba which can be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page.

  Please note that you need XP compatible drivers! As far as I know that the Satellite P100-160 belongs to the PSPAAE series. So please choose this one if you download the drivers.

  Similar problem was with older Intel 2200 BG WLAN card, but it is resolved with newer drivers. Please check the download page of Toshiba or Intel download page under http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df-external/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2259&lang=eng

  Strange, I have checked the driver Toshiba page and chose the P100 PSPADE series but did not find any LAN drivers only WLan drivers.

  Anyway, to my knowledge this device supports Intel LAN chip. Visit the Intel page and download the app or try to install the drivers from different series of P100.

  Normally, most Vista drivers are also work on Windows 7. Then you can try the Vista driver on the Toshiba site.
