Do I have to re - install my modules manually after updating to Firefox?

Hi, I've recently upgraded to Firefox 39 (I still have to upgrade as soon as updates are available). However, as a result of the update all my modules disappeared. There is a folder on my desktop called old data Firefox which I assume, contains details of the previous installation, including Add-ons. Is it possible to automatically restore add-ons, or do I have to manually download and re - install? I understand that some of the Add-ons is perhaps not compatible with the current version of Firefox, but some of them will be always compatible.

When you update to Firefox, it automatically checks your modules and updates compatible versions where possible. If an add-on cannot be updated and is no longer compatible, Firefox it turns off.

I can record is more than all of the new bookmarks after update to Firefox 40.0.2.
I have over 1000 bookmarks and also use xMarks.
I tried to remove 5 bookmarks and save a new bookmark, but it does not work.
When I click on the bookmark star, stars in the bookmarks folder jumps, but does not record, it does not offer the possibility of filing in the subfolder right it me and the star is not awarded (there should be one filled with stars when the Web site is updated bookmark)

Thank you for your help. I tried the maintenance of places without success. I have disabled xMarks, but it made no difference, I couldn't save all new bookmarks. I went on the site help above and deleted the "places.sqlite" file and recreates a new file, but it didn't work. I uninstalled Firefox full using IOBit Uninstaller and reinstalled, but I found this program does not delete the profile folder (used to have a checked during uninstall of Firefox, but it seems to have disappeared in the latest versions). The problem persisted.

Finally, I took a screenshot of all my addons. Then, I uninstalled Firefox again, then delete the entire folder profiles (located very usefully described in the second link above https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Bookmarks+not+saved#w_fix-the-bookmarks-file )
I reinstalled Firefox, reinstalled xMarks and connected and transferred all my favorites, I reinstalled all my previous addons and ALTO - it now everything works perfectly!

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.

    -> Basic - a new profile troubleshooting

IF this new profile works, then you can retrieve your bookmarks and passwords the old profile.

-> Recovery of data from an old profile

  • Firefox updates not - although I have OSX 10.5.8 it keeps saying I have too old a BONE. The auto-update for Firefox is grayed out. How can I update?

I have a Mac Powerbook G4 with OS X 10.5.8. I get messages from Google that Firefox is an older version and need to update - so I went to the site of Firefox and the message said that "Unfortunately the latest version of Firefox is not compatible with the operating system of your computer. Learn more. "When I click on learn more, it is said that Firefox only works with OS X 10.5 and 10.6... the auto-Setup box to update for Firefox is grayed out and not clickable in Firefox preferences, there is no manual download I can find - how can I make Firefox recognize my OS and allow me to upgrade? Thank you very much.

PPC Macs are not compatible with Firefox 4.0 and later versions.

For older Mac that are not supported in Firefox 4 / 5 / 6, try TenFourFox of PowerPC running Mac 10.4.11 and 10.5.8.

  • I have too RegularDaaLLs pop-up ads since the update of Firefox

I just uninstalled Firefox, downloaded the latest version and reinstalled, to solve a problem without report. That has worked well. Now I'm faced with the pop-up windows. They come with all the keys "enter" and also between the two. They are all sponsored by RegularDaeaLLs. I have popup windows blocked, without exception, and yet they still continue to come. Any thoughts? I don't get them if I switch to IE

Hello, this looks like a problem maybe caused by adware on your pc.

Please go to the firefox menu > addons > extensions and remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, the things that you have not installed intentionally, I don't know what purpose they serve, etc.).

also go to Control Panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there.

Finally, run a full scan of your system with security tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.

Remove a toolbar that has supported your Firefox or the homepage search

  • I have some coherent questions after update of Firefox that I've not been able to solve.

My problems come in a bundle and are present or absent, according to the last update. Issues appeared at the start of the madness of quick update (which was very close to me turned to Firefox). Problems remained in line with a number of updates for a few months and then were fixed. They reappear then a certain number of months. Sorry I don't follow the details of which version they are associated with greater care.

I'm currently under Firefox 12, on Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2.

    The bundle of issues includes:

-not being able to open multiple instances of the combustion chamber at a time (uniform)
-After closing Firefox, not being only unable to re - open the program without having to re - start my computer (intermittent)
-If I leave Firefox with the media playing a Web site, sometimes the media continues to play in the background, with no way to stop it (intermittent)
-modules are behaving erratically. When I open Firefox, I never know what icons module will still be in the toolbar. When I go to put back them into the toolbar, icons are not available in the Customize menu. Sometimes I can not open the page modules in the Tools menu. When I open it, the relevant modules are listed as 'active '. (intermittent)

Any idea on how I can get Firefox works well again would be greatly appreciated.

Try to start Firefox in safe mode. This mode disables all extensions, customizations, hardware acceleration, etc., temporarily for the diagnosis and troubleshooting. If Firefox works fine in Safe Mode, then it is probably a problem with the add-on. Restart Firefox in normal mode, and then type "subject: addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions, restart Firefox between each one, until you find the troublemaker.

The issue of not being able to reopen after closing Firefox is usually caused by an add-on that is faulty. safe mode is an easy way to tell if this is the case.

  • 21,0,0,213 is the latest version. Why have I not 21,0,0 216 after update several times?

I tried updates repeated in order to address this threat ransomware. I checked my version before updating and it was 21,0,0216. That doesn't change no matter what I do. I have windows 7 on both of my laptops. I use the browsers Chrome and IE. I tried to update at the same time with the same result.

    Hello

On Chrome, you encounter 21.0.0.216 version Flash Player as it is the last available Chrome specific Flash Player. Can you please check the version of THE Flash Player. This should be 21.0.0.213 because currently it is the latest player available for IE.

    Thank you

  • No preview of. HAVE or. Files in Explorer windows after updating illustrator EPS.

Drop the icons appear in the folders as empty boxes (instead of with the icon to HAVE it). When choosing a in windows Explorer (or unfortunately), it says "No Preview available". All of these files had seen before. Now the files must be open to view the contents, wasting a lot of time. This happened after the most recent update. What is the reference for this? Thank you, everyone, for your help.

Problem solved: reinstalled original Illustrator CC. Although it seems unnecessary to have 3 versions of Illustrator, at least it works again. Previews. EPS and. HAVE evidence yet in illo and also windows Explorer.

  • I have install the module "adblock more ' on my android furefox browser, but not block, he adds. What can I do?

  • Impossible to install the modules that are hosted outside of AMO

I can't install any add-on that is hosted outside of AMO, in Firefox for Android 40.0.3, nor in Firefox Beta for Android 41.

What I think should happen: I have download the file as signed (it records to SD card), then open it with Firefox and Firefox should ask me if I want to install this module.

What is really happening: an add-on is downloaded, but when I open it is file as with Firefox - nothing happens. Firefox comes to shows me a blank screen (see the screenshot).

My friend has this problem too.

Looks like a regression bug (because I could install add-ons hosted out of AMO without any problems in previous versions), but I'm not entirely sure.

So my question is: should I file a bug on Bugzilla or is it possible to install the modules hosted outside of AMO to Firefox for Android and it's just me something wrong?

    My phone has Android v2.3.5.

UPDATE: apparently, I can not install the modules of local files, but can do some some sites. My module (I have problem with) is hosted on Github, and I can't install it for whatever reason.

Update 2: it seems that modules can be installed from Github if she is not just a file (because Github changed Content-Disposition of at least some types of raw file of 'inline' to 'attachment'), but a binary attachment to a "news release".

Apparently, I found a work around for this problem, so that this issue does not require a response more.

  • 16 of Firefox crashes after installing new modules

I'm under Firefox 16.0.2 on OSX 10.5.8, so no more updates.

After the installation and execution of several security modules, Firefox hangs at startup upward. I think that it is these new Add-ons that seem to cause Firefox freeze and crash.

After I run Firefox, the CPU usage starts with a pic and the fan goes crazy, until it crashes.

I tried to start Firefox in safe mode by pressing the option of my Mac, but I don't get the impression that he really has nothing (is - done differently?).

Improvement of systems is out of the question on this computer.

I want to continue to use Firefox until I get a new laptop, but for now, it's pretty frustrating. I also don't want to lose my favorites, although I'm sure I can get a folder somewhere.

So, the real question is: How can I disable addons on start up before you even start Firefox? Is this possible?

    Just to close the topic...
I formatted my HDD and reinstalled OSX. I immediately installed 16 FF (thanks for the link!) and all the Add-ons I had before (ABP, DNTMe, difficulty of privacy and Collusion) and all is well now, works like a charm.
I guess I just have too much clutter on my Macbook to my RAM to manage Firefox.
    Thanks for the help!
