Do not show "Remember password" message

Hello

I would NEVER show the "Remember password" message of Firefox. This is illustrated below the icon representing a key, to the left of the navigation bar.
I tried different configurations of history. Even if I activate and clear the checkbox "Security-> remember passwords for sites", the message always appears after the authentication.

I would appreciate an answer.

Hi all

Thank you for being quick with your answers.

My problem was that I was doing the configurations to the default Firefox profile, while I really need them to be in place for another Firefox profile.

Kind regards.

You can protect firefox password store by setting a master password.

If your data are always there after an upgrade of the OS depends on how they do it - to be sure, you can save your profile on a usb key or elsewhere before you replace your pc - see back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox

  • Apple Mail will not show my mail messages

All of a sudden my iMac (27 inch, end 2012) Sierra running (OSX 10.12) does not display my IMAP messages in Mail.app.  Inbox window (for example) says "Inbox (0 messages filtered)", and other mailboxes are similar.  I guess the problem is the word 'filtered', but I didn't ask to filter anything.  If I search something in common, like '@', it shows all messages.

I upgraded to Sierra for a few days, it didn't happen immediately.  This does not happen on my MacBook Air or my office iMac, two Sierra also running.

    Hi JBRoberts,

    1. what web browser do you use?

AutoComplete is a feature in Internet Explorer that remembers the information you typed in the address, web forms, or password fields bar and automatically fills in that information if you start to type the same thing again later. This saves you having to type the same information repeatedly.

Note: Try the procedure only if you use Internet explorer as your web browser below.

I suggest that you first delete browsing history and later disable the AutoComplete usernames and passwords on forms

    Delete AutoComplete saved information

    (a) open the Internet Options by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking network and Internet, and then clicking Options Internet.

    (b) click on the general tab, and then, under browsing history, click delete.

    (c) to do one or more of the following:

    1. Select the checkbox data form .

    2. Select the password box.

    (d) click Removeand then click OK.

After you have deleted all recorded history auto automatic deactivation method below using all onUser names and passwords on forms

    (a) open Internet Explorer, click the Start button. In the search box, and then type Internet Explorerin the list of results, click on Internet Explorer.

    (b) click on the Tools button and then click on Internet Options.

    (c) click on the content tab.

    (d) under AutoComplete, and then click settings.

    (e) delete the usernames and passwords on forms and boxes ask me before saving passwords .

  • Mail preference does not show the password field

What Miss me?   This morning decided to change my Gmail password because of unknown activity.  Able to do through a browser web and then tried to make a password app via Google.  I'm told that I have to go in my mail preferences and change the password to the new password App.  However, no password field doesn't show when I'm in mail preferences.  Now my mail doesn't connect to gmail...

    Michael

Try to send an email with the account disabled.  A prompt should appear informing that the password is incorrect, and asking you to enter the right pair.  It is a rather messy workaround solution, but it worked for me.  See you soon.

  • Do not message not showing on a slide

Hi, I'm working on a video simulation 9 Captivate. Slides, where is the screen of the software and then I have a "back" (as opposed to text slides or menu) button. On some of these slides, I have a click box, and I put in place a failure message. When I have the back button does not trigger the failure message.

    Here is the chronology:

    timeline.png

Here are the click box settings:

    settings.png

I think it's because the back button and the click box have a break. I tried to move the point of break the back button before the break of the click box, the same time as the click box and after the click box and there is no difference.

When I saw the box click works (so it goes to the next screen) and made the button back but it does not show the fail message if I click anywhere else.

Any ideas? Patches? Workaround solutions? Much appreciated!

    JO

    Hello world

Not sure that the question, but we have an easy solution. We put the back button in a model of slides. If that is set for the screens of simulation it doesn't substitute the suspicion of fail to click. Hope that helps anyone with this problem!

    See you soon

  • How do I check the "Remember passwords for sites" checkbox in the Security Panel, it is grey IE inaccessible (cannot check it out).

Using Firefox version 38.0.1. On an iMac OS 10.10.3, I installed the plugin for Firefox with Apple Keychain integration. But impossible to get Firefox to ask me to save passwords. I have configured a master password for firefox but still does not work even after restarting Firefox.

It would be great if it worked as I'm sure you're all right if I just push the right button. Who is?
    Thank you

Thanks for the help jscher, but it turns out that I was using private browsing, and passwords are stored naturally not so "remember password is disabled." This makes sense to me now.

  • How can I get the 'Remember password' guest view again after deleting a saved password before?

My username and password for my University site: https://www.bb.reading.ac.uk/ stopped appearing automatically, and the password only appeared when I typed in my user name. I couldn't bother to type the username each time, so I deleted the site in the thought of section "password saved..." "I would be invited to remember the password again. But it never came and can't seem to find a function that would allow me to remember a password for the site.

Some web sites, including many banks and a few other sites, tell browsers not not to remember passwords for visitors using autocomplete = "off".
What made this page, Firefox respects the coding of the web page of the author in the pages like that.

This bookmarklet makes the browser ignore autocomplete = "off" temporarily, allows to save passwords even on sites that use autocomplete = "off".

    Don't forget to bookmark password:

    https://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets/forms.html#remember_password

Or, you can use the extension of the editor of saved passwords for web sites where Firefox does not offer to save the/password Username.

    Hey groveman21,

Have you looked at the section of the Base names of users and passwords are not saved ? There are lots of good information in there.

If it's only a particular site, you experience problems with, you can also delete cookies from this site in order to make the site you not forget if you have created a remember me cookie by visiting to Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies" that there could be a "don't remember" cookie for this site.

    Hope this helps!

I turned on the setting for FF to memorize my usernames and passwords. It is possible that there is a problem with key3db and signons.sqlite files that store the encrypted names and passwords in Firefox.

Rename signons3.txt and signons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder.

You can add .old files (key3.db.old and signons.sqlite.old) names or move them to another folder to make it possible to cancel the action.

You must define a new master password after renaming or removing the signons3.txt and all the currently saved passwords are lost.

If that worked, then you can delete the renamed files that are no longer needed.

    See:

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

    • Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: opens showing the file
