  Hello

  I want to be able to apply a conversion to an open document table, through an FDK.

  Is it possible to call the command "Structure current document...". "the client and pass a filepath, open the document Conversion table, and that applies to the current document?

  I want to be able to pass the path to the command automatically without displaying the dialog box.

  Hi David,

  Yes. It is in the chapter of the FDK ref called "Call Clients shipped with FrameMaker." The table of conversion process is done by another client API called generator of Structure, and you will need to make calls to it. However, in the last ref FDK I, I think that the syntax in the documentation is wrong. I'll copy and paste parts of the device below, replacing it with the syntax that I know works. Note that you must have all documents open with their identity papers seized... you can't just send a path.

  To perform most operations with customers of FrameMaker, you perform a sequence of several
  Calls F_ApiCallClient().

  To structure a document, use the following sequence of calls from F_ApiCallClient():

  F_ApiCallClient ("Structure Generator", "INPUTDOCID objectID");
  .. .or objectID is the ID of the input document.

  F_ApiCallClient ("Structure Generator", "RULEDOCID objectID");
  .. .or objectID is the ID of the document table rule (conversion).

  F_ApiCallClient ("Structure Generator", "OUTPUTDOCNAME path");
  .. where path is the full path of the output document. This command is optional. If you do
  not specify a path, the leaves of the unsaved document structure generator and open.

  F_ApiCallClient ("Structure Generator", "StructureDoc");
  ... This call tells the structure generator to generate the structure using the parameters provided by the
  calls listed above.

  KFN, is again Russ. Thus, for example, to make the call where send you the number of the document that you want to the structure, you would do something like:

  UCharT msg [1024];

  F_ObjHandleT docId.

  ... code for docId, etc...

  F_Sprintf (msg, "%d INPUTDOCID", docId);

  F_ApiCallClient ("Structure Generator", msg (StringT));

  ... rest of calls, etc...

  The equations are a problem. If the equation is text, you can be lucky if you have the fonts on your system. Most of the time I have try, the fonts in the equation are garbage. Expect to have to retype the equations and some special characters. Much also depends on the existence of the fonts on your system. Just in my experience, the equations are almost impossible to convert.

  The reason I ask because I get PDF files containing information to be used in the design and some of these files need editing, in order to convert these PDF files, it is faster to respond to all emails with PDF files to Word documents. In addition, my boss is cheap to download this software even though it would make my job much more productive.  Thank you

  You can access the service using a browser on Mac or Windows, and work on documents.

• The Illuminant C for a printed document conversion: D65 or D50?

  I have a few old color data of the 1930s which is expressed in coordinates using Illuminant C. I need to reproduce it in the swatches in a document for offset printing, I'll prepare you using InDesign. I can convert the coordinates in the LABORATORY using software. However, this requires that I replace C Illuminant D50 or D65. D65 is the match more closely to obsolete Illuminant C. But this project is intended for production printing, where it will be considered in a light booth D50. I have also been informed that the Adobe color engine also assume D50 for everything.

  Are there management settings of colors that I can use to preserve the appearance of the conversion of C to D65 somehow? Or should I accept the inevitable and convert directly from C D50?

  Important is the concept, either A or b:

  (A) a set of tokens is observed under illuminant C and the colors are represented by XYZ or xyY.

  A set XYZ sets a color absolututely, there is no need of a white point.

  In this case, the calculation is simple for reason x, y, y:

  z = 1-x-y

  X = xY/y

  Z = zY/y

  X 1 = X/Xn etc.

  Xn, Yn, Zn is the D50 white point. In CIELab, it is just a reference, of course

• Document Conversion problem

  We're trying to convert a FrameMaker 10 book into a PDF file and only in a section of the graphic document is randomly being left out.  Adobe leaves a space where the graphic should be.  And in one case, he even left the arrows pointing to various components, but the rest of the picture was missing.  We tried to convert just a section to be able later to add it in Adobe Pro thinking the file size could be the issue - no joy.  We tried to copy the file in FrameMaker vice he saw a link to the document - no joy.  We tried to change the printer (and, therefore, the printer drivers) that we use during the conversion process, thinking it was a problem of driver/memory printer - no joy.  Finally, we have tried to put the file on the disk hard vice the server - no joy.  Graphics are always left just a section of the document.  It wasn't even the same graphics each time (some changed, most have remained the same).  The graphics are CGM files.  Not sure if this has something to do with it.  But we have nothing else in common with the graphics another that they have just a section of the document.  Other sections of the document have even larger graphics (file size).  Has anyone any suggestions?  I tried to put my email address from work here and he said that someone was already using (unlikely) but never the less, I resorted to the personal use of my email in order to get an account.  Unfortunately, I'm unable to retrieve messages from my personal account to work.  If you have a suggestion, please send me an email to [email protected].  Thank you.

  Now that I understand (with your collective help) how to convert my large volume of scanned documents so that I can change them, another question arises.

  In a scanned document that has, say, 100 pages, is there a way for me to convert to only unique edition or groups of pages that I need instead of the 100 pages?

  For example, a report that I need is p 57-64. Is there a way to convert only those pages to be able to change/point culminating / add text? I know I can convert the 100 pages, but why do that if I can't?

  Extract pages to a new file (temporary), via the tools - Pages - extract.

  It is a feature of your browser, not Acrobat printing options. You need to find the printing options in your browser. In Seamonkey, it is under Page Setup.

  Can you please tell us how these PDF files have been converted? If they have been converted by a third-party application, then they don't contain any internal file information which are necessary to ensure a clean conversion. Or, it is possible that the font used in the PDF file is not available for service ExportPDF. Please see Will Adobe ExportPDF convert text and shape... | Adobe community.

  You may want to try to disable OCR as described in this paper: How to disable the optical character recognition (O... |) Adobe Community (although not optimal if the PDF files started as scanned documents, because it is OCR that converts the image into editable text text).

  Or, you can try to convert via Acrobat. You can download a free trial version of http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.

  you get a bluescreen 7B because you allowed converter to misconfigure the virtual machine.

  Converter can not patch with IDE drives, so you must select a scsi driver that is appropriate during the process.

  As used guestOS is longhorn, I guess it's a Vista or Windows7 and 2008.

  I use Acrobat X Pro version 10.1.10...I'm trying to select several files to Word Document (Mac Version 14.4.3) but when choose the files, file format of Word Documents I can't select them as a cabriolet. If I drag them in the conversion box it says that they are not a recognized file format... any ideas?

  You can open any WORD file in Acrobat format? Otherwise, it's probably a limitation of Acrobat on the Mac. On the PC, you can simply use the option to combine in the file menu to create a new PDF. The WORD document conversion uses the PDF Maker option installed in WORD that should work, but it's the same process as the opening of a DOC or DOCX file directly in Acrobat. There is limitation with the compatibility of the different versions of OFFICE and Acrobat who could be another question, you meet, but I don't know the combinations to a Mac. Only, this gives you some ideas to consider. Some of the users MAC maybe more later to give more thoughts.

  The alternative is to create a PDF file for each of the WORD files, and then use the feature combine to combine PDF files.

  I use RoboHelp HTML 7.02.001.
  I created a new project for importing Word documents (Word 2003 SP2) in.
  There are nearly 100 records, all pretty small with defined Index entries. (These were broken on 9 training manuals)
  
  A before posting, I was advised that the output should be WebHelp, because users will have access to it through the corporate Intranet.
  Project settings has Index > add new keywords to > Index File (Perfect). And binary Index is checked, but I don't think it's necessary.
  
  I am importing several Word documents in a folder of the project at a time.
  Opens the screen of the wizard: import Word Document Conversion Options and the following items are checked.
  Preserve the title styles
  Convert the Table of contents
  Convert Index
  Add new keywords for the file Index (Perfect)
  Then, I chose to create only 1 sheet of Style Master who is subsequently changed.
  
  The Word Document Wizard: Split on Style window screen opens and all controls are deleted, because this step is already completed.
  
  My problem: The index is empty after importation.
  
  How can I fix this without having to change each HTML page?
