Documents endangered

Hi, I have a Samsung laptop with windows 2010 on it. For these last months I did save everything I type in a folder that I implemented in my documents, but today everything I type wont go to the folder and disappears. I am pressing Save As and it looks like at its going in the folder, but it is not. The only way I can get it back is if I go in word and click file, and then there are all recent documents, that I worked on. I tried to save it to my documents and it does not save but if I drag the upward in the folder looks like he's initially but when I go in the folder is not there. I am looking for any help please!

There are (as often the case) several ways to go about this.

Open Word, select the file, and open any document listed in "Recent Documents".
With the document open, click file again, and then select "Info."
You should get a screen like this:

Look at the line at the top of the screen indicated by the red arrow.  This shows where the document is saved.  If, for example, your user name is Martina and the document is called a test 1, you should see the following text:

C:\Users\Martina\Documents\College\Essay 1. docx

What do you see?

You can also move your mouse on the link for "Open file location" at the bottom right.  If you 'mouse' on the link, it displays the folder in which the file is saved.  If you click the link, the folder opens.

Click on the link.  All your documents are here?  What is the name of the folder?

    Hi all. I know this will have a very simple answer, but I can't understand it!

    I have experience in CS4, but unfortunately currently works in Illustrator 9. While working on the document, I accidentally clicked on the top of the page and it disappeared. Illustrator tells me it is open, but I can't access it. I tried to quit and reopen the document, but nothing is there.

    Any help would be appreciated!

  • Footers that disappears into the PDF generated from FrameMaker 9

    Three other writers and I are having a problem with feet disappearing into FrameMaker.  Here's the problem: in FrameMaker, footers appears correctly.  When convert us a book in PDF format, many of footers disappear.  We find that a footer (or a part of the footer) appears on the first page of the chapter, but then footers disappear in the rest of the chapter.

    Here is some info:

    We use the frame 9.  My version is 9.0p250.  I also use Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, Version 9.3.2 and Adobe Distiller: Professional Version 8.1.3

    · We have been able to reproduce this problem by using several guides.

    · Oddly, footers appear correctly when I print a single chapter.

    · I tried to restart my machine and then only FrameMaker loaded (if memory problems).

    · I optimized the book file and associated chapters.

    · I experimented with different settings distill.

    Does anyone else have this problem?

    It is probably a symptom of the MS Hotfix that corrects a problem with the text in PDF documents endangered generated from several Windows applications (not just FM).

  • Document in the process of disappearance left the office. Cannot display

    When I open a document using Microsoft Word, the document opens and floats off the screen to the left of my office and I can't see it. The tab is still there @ bottom & I can right click on the tab w/option restore or minimize. When I do this it just goes to from the tab to the left of the screen endangered or return to the Urgent tab! Student doing homework! Help, please!

    If I understand correctly, the window open off-screen.

    Right-click on the tab of the window in the task bar and select move. Now, use the arrow keys to get to the screen. Close all other windows except this one and use the cursor to drag the message to the desired size. File | Output and Windows will remember the size and location when you open it again.

  • Update ESD definitions used by Document

    I added some features to my EDD, more precisely a under list in a list item.  I generated a new DTD, then imported my definitions of ESD in the model.  I test the functionality of my list and sublist and it works beautifully.  Then I imported the new definitions of ESD into an existing document which was built on the previous version of ESD.  The new list features did NOT work.  The dialog box pop-up to request the type of list does not appear.  I double click on the list item in the structure view and was able to adjust the type (I took the numbers) and 1.  appeared.  I typed a few words and you press on enter, the 1. has disappeared!    I conclude that my definitions of EDD update procedure was not proper procedure. Can anyone help?

    To the best of my knowledge, import a new DSP in a document REPLACES the existing ESD. Import does not add or press any existing ESD. So, if the new ESD works in the test document, it should work in any document in which it is imported.

    About contextual dialog... There is a DOCUMENT setting that governs the dialog box. Select view > assign Display Options. In the options, you can set the always dialog box to appear or always no show or show only for the required attributes. As I said, it is set for each document. So, my guess is that your test paper was a notch and the new document had a different setting. It has nothing to do with the EDD.

    Regarding the 1 endangered enter... don't know why that would happen. When you have selected numbers, you also click Set (or whatever button on the pod of attributes)? If this is not the case, the list can returned to the value by default when you press ENTER.

  • How to get documents and data to the cloud on my Mac desktop?

    After the upgrade to Sierra all my data (documents and desktop) have been transferred to Icloud. I absolutely not want all my data on another server costs me more money. How do I lose all my data safely back on my Mac, without anything? I'm quite t... o... that the decisions of this importance are make with a single click (or without?). Preferably, I do not want to export every file (of the thousands...) by hand, but just change things back to where it was before.

    Documents are also in your folder on the drive on your Mac iCloud.

    Just disable iCloud drive in iCloud preferences.

    Then go icloud.com and connect, then you remove the files on disc to iCloud.

  • Sierra of MacOS - iCloud Drive Documents & Desktop keeps Getting Stuck download

    Hello

    as stated in the header after activating the iCloud Drive to include Documents and desktop download stuck guard.

    Since almost 2 weeks I started the task mean to ask iCloud to include above mentioned files. Total quantity was about 100 GB download. I have 1 TB of storage for iCloud. iCloud is always download and always get stuck after about 10 to 30 minutes to download. Then I have to restart after that it starts to load only from getting stuck again.

    I was on the phone with Apple Care who had no idea of what might happen. They Said and I quote "we have no problem with iCloud download and your problem has not yet been recreated by others."

    I find it very hard to believe that I can repro this problem on 3 different systems.

    I have Cable speed of 400 Mbps downstream a 25mbit upstream. I have zero upstream of questions to dropbox or Spideroak at an astonishing speed. ICloud is the slowest I've ever known in my life but as I said after 14 days, it has yet to fill about 40 GB. This is ridiculous IMO.

    If anyone has any ideas on what is once again wrong with iCloud, I would of course tips

    Try to go into System Preferences/iCloud and stop synchronization. Wait a few minutes, then recheck the timing.

    Have you tried the signature to iCloud and then reconnect?

  • Can I change the default folder for new documents Pages?

    When I run the application Pages, the first thing I see is a Finder window. For some reason, this Finder window invariably opens, not with the Documents folder, but in a specific subfolder of the folder images. Sometimes I use this folder as source for the photos that I insert into documents, but I don't want to see this folder every time I run the application Pages.

    How can I control this behavior? I see nothing in the preferences page to set a default value.

    When you launch Pages, you will be presented with a file picker (not the actual Finder). The left sidebar will be a folder of Documents, you must select. At this point, you can simply stop Pages. He will remember to open in the last selected folder and on the content of the Document folder, you will see a file chooser. As long you open, edit, save, or export documents in the Documents folder, it will remember this folder.

    I was wondering what is the correct way to disable the iCloud drive and recover my documents and desktop in the 'normal' folder and not on iCloud drive without him remove again.

    No problem with iCloud drive, just my personal preference is to have saved it on my computer.

    If I download my Desktop folds and Documents under the Sierra to my iCloud drive - what happens if I stop?

    Specifically - will have local copies of the documents on my Mac?  They will return to my Home Directory?   The returned files will reflect any changes or new files download to iCloud?

    When you turn off the computer and Office Documents, your files reside in iCloud by car, and a new folder is created on your Mac. You can move files to iCloud drive to your Mac as you need it, or select all the files and make them drag to the location that you want to keep them.

    1. From your Mac, go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud.
    2. Next to iCloud Drive, click Options.
    3. Deselect Desktop and Documents folders.
    4. Click done.

    After my upgrade to Sierra, all the files in the document files have been lost.  I tried to go to time machine and which was also a failure.  Much word, pdf and excel files have been lost.  Help!

    If you have opted to turn on iCloud for storing items in office and documents, they are now in iCloud drive.

    Similar situation with my father.  He did not know that it turned on syncing iCloud and after disabled it, discovered that his office was empty (the Documents probably too, but it wasn't in the concerned e-mail message, I received this morning).

    This seems to be the opposite of what one should expect; When turning off this feature, you should be at least the option to restore your files in the desktop and Documents folders.

    I do "remote support" for an octogenarian who is not very comfortable to make changes to his computer.  If all goes well, there is a simple solution that I can talk to him through.

  • App missing Documents

    I recently made a few changes, accidentally turned on iCloud and

    all my data went to the cloud.

    Frustrating because I would rather have it on my computer.

    Apart from that my entire application of Documents is missing.

    It shows in the cloud and I copied the info but still do not have the

    App to put in.

    I thought about reloading Sierra.  This would help to restore the App?

    iCloud is a completely separate to your Documents folder, so at least you did drag the files to the folder of iCloud has no way he as magically put everything in iCloud.   That said, iCloud keeps a local copy of everything you put in your computer, so even if it's in icloud it is also locally stored on your computer.
