  Hello dogeeze, please, never install anything that you did not yourself simply because a popup tells you so.

  It may already exist a kind of malicious software present on your pc when you see these pop-up windows. That's why I suggest go to firefox > addons > extensions & to remove all suspicious entries (toolbars, the things that you have not installed intentionally, I don't know what purpose they serve, etc.).
  
  also go to Control Panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there.
  
  Finally, run a full scan of your system with security tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.

  I read that when someone creates a PDF with an article, this is what causes the hand tool change appearance and move/zoom on the page when you click anywhere. It is one of the more annoying "features" I've never met. I prefer to use the hand tool to pull the page exactly where I want it to be, rather than scrolling with the wheel, and whenever I click on my jumps and zooms page where I was at. I don't see how this would be useful in all settings, and even less implicitly. Is there a way I can replace it? I use Adobe Reader 9, not the full pro version.

  Would not be quite as obnoxious, but it zooms the page so wide that it requires horizontal scrolling to read all this. If someone knows a solution, please share!

  I guess that you do not want the updates, etc, IE, IE9 to display in the list of available updates? The easiest way to do this is to 'hide '. By hiding their they won't prompt for installation.

  1. click the Windows Start button.

  2. on the start menu, click the control panel option.

  3. in Control Panel, click the Windows Update icon.

  4. once the Windows Update window opens, click on the option "check for updates".

  5. because you have not installed THE 9 Essentials protection Windows updates and indicates that updates are available.

  6. now, you need a list of the available updates. Do you this by clicking on the option marked "recommended updates or optional updates (don't remember not the exact wording, but something like that).

  7. the list of updates will now appear.

  8. right click on the update of IE 9, and in the menu drop-down, click Hide.

  9 do the same for the other updates you want.

  10. the 'hidden' update will not now be dispalyed and you will not be asked to install.

  Yes the VMware Tools changes the value to 60 seconds. Apparently, it was introduced in 3.0.2. I have it has not noticed only a few months before.

  Download window works OK when in full screen but when in a minimized window, the appearance has changed, so it is impossible to read what is there. How can I restore it to original settings?

  You have any addons/extensions that can style it somehow? Go in Addons > Extensions (and appearance), and watch well everything that can change the window display mode. Change the options accordingly.
