Double MDS simulators

I have set up a new installation of Windows 7 (32-bit) yesterday and installed the latest version of eclipse WebWorks (2.5.1 I think). When I create a new project and run it, I get two copies of the loading MDS Simulator. Anyone know what gives?

See attached screenshot.

I need to do some more testing, but running Eclipse as an administrator in Windows seems to have solved my problem.

It shows how to get the HTML parts or text of an e-mail message, but the same principles can be applied to attachments.  Note that this requires a BlackBerry Enterprise Server or BlackBerry Internet Service account.  The ESS and MDS simulators do not support HTML email delivery.

There is also a problem in some early versions of version 4.5.0 which prevents you to ask more than one attachment (using the second method).  It is corrected in version 4.5.0.47 BlackBerry device software and higher.

  • Look at a PDF via Simulator

    Hello

I created a browser based application. One of the links on the app is a PDF file and a GIF file. When I click on the GIF image is displayed. When I click on the PDF file, I get the following error:

Not able to connect; risk-taking channel address 127.0.0.1:1900

When I run the present in IE, it works fine (PDF and GIF displayed beautifully). What's more interesting is that when I run with my Blackberry REAL (connected to BES) then it works fine. No idea how I can get this working on the Simulator?

Before ask you, I tried this on many different devices and MDS simulators, and they all give the same result.

This is not supported by the MDS Simulator.  To test this situation in the BlackBerry Simulator, you can connect it to a real BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

  • Need help running push Widget Widget SDK sample

    Hello

The Widget SDK is my first foray into developing for BlackBerry.

I downloaded the installer that bundles of the Eclipse IDE (because I had problems with the update of the eclipse) since http://na.blackberry.com/eng/developers/browserdev/eclipse.jsp Simulator that runs when I launch a widget indicates that it is the Smartphone BlackBerry 2.13.0.56 Simulator

I tried to run the example (found on http://docs.blackberry.com/en/developers/subcategories/?userType=21&category=BlackBerry+Widgets&subC...). I have the widget running in the Simulator and the Swing app that runs server-side code works as well, but the messages do not get pushed to the device.

Here are a few questions & information:

    1. documentation of this example seems to assume a MDS standalone and not as a plug-in - IDE he talks port 8080, but I found that my instance of MDS is tuned to 28080

2 access localhost 28080 shows me the status of SDM which is

    Build number: 93
    Build version: 5.0.0.93
    Construction date: 2009/08/12

    3. the example instructions say:

Open the rimpublic.property file, located in the subdirectory MDS\config of the BlackBerry Email installation directory and Services MDS simulators.   Make sure that the line 'push.application.reliable.ports = 100' is NOT commented.

I did find this line (I found the MDS file with the file with this name under \plugins\net.rim.browser.tools.wcpc_1.0.0.200910291414-35\wcpc\mds\config) so I added it myself.

    4. I am running Win 7 Ultimate and tried this after letting a MDS access by adding an exception and more completely by disabling the firewall.

    5. for the RIM option in server code to push, I get the following exception in the console:

Sending to http://localhost:28080/push?DESTINATION=2100000A&PORT=100&REQUESTURI=localhostjava.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 400 for URL: http://localhost:28080/push?DESTINATION=2100000A&PORT=100&REQUESTURI=localhost

    6. for PAP, I see:

    8. After awhile, when you use PAP, the Eclipse console displays "connection of Notification period. Restart of... "and this message keeps repeating.

So, if someone could point me in the right direction to get it to work or give me an idea of what I'm doing wrong, that would be great! I really don't know too much about the development of BlackBerry or SDM or push so I do not know where to start.

    Thank you!

    Hello

It turns out that there is a known issue in the connection services MDS where environmental push imitate them you have to take a few steps.

Once you have the open Simulator, you must have the device Simulator to connect through the SDM a couple of times so that he knows that this is actually.

What we have seen that the work, should open the browser and go to a link like http://www.google.com a couple of times and then try and push.

some of our developers have seen that sometimes it can take a few tests so that the MDS detect the Simulator.  We have a bug connected with the MDS team on this topic.

    Good day to all

Is there a way the Simulator to connect to internet via internet from office.

I use BB JDE V 4.5, in which I have 81 and 83 series simulators.

I just want to check my code wheather its working properly or not.  Through my code, I want to connect to a particular site.

    Waiting for response...

    Thanx

Download and run the internet for MDS Simulator available for the device Simulator

    Go here: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/developers/resources/simulators.jsp

Download "Email Blackberry and MDS simulators package"

It can be downloaded separately. And also it is included in JDE 4.0.2

  • TL2000 discs double - CF-

    Hello

We plan to buy TL2000 FC - LTO5 with double Tape Drives, trying to get it started I noticed there are two FC ports at the rear of the chassis TL2000.

Do I have to connect the two FC ports with LC connectors to my SAN switch or will an FC port?

My SAN switch Cisco MDS 9148, server is m620 with 2572 MEQ. My chassis has 8 FC through modules.

    Thank you

    Paul

    Hello Paul,

2 ports at the back of the drives LTO5 is just in case a port dies, you can use it.  You can connect just using 1 port as if you were to connect the two ports you would use only one at a time on the TL.

  • Push by MDS Simulator and Win7

    Hi all

I have a new computer with Win7 Professional installed and I had trouble getting the BlackBerry Simulator to recognize the push in my application.  I also have my old WinXP computer that gets the push with my BlackBerry application "under development".  That is, it works on Windows XP but not on Win7.

I use Eclipse Galileo with the BlackBerry plug-in.  Develop with BlackBerry JRE v4.6.0.23 on BlackBerry 9000 Simulator.  The MDS Simulator is installed in C:\BlackBerry Email and simulators of Services SDM 4.1.4 avoid C:\Program Files security restrictions.

Configuration of the Simulator in the 'rimpublic.property' file is to remove the # from the line 'push.application.reliable.ports = 100' at the bottom of the file.  No other changes are made.  The MDS web server started on port 8080 (default).

On the Windows XP computer, I start the MDS Simulator, then I start my Eclipse application and the BlackBerry Simulator starts.  I'll leave my app and open the web browser and launch a Web site (any) and I'll see the work of MDS Simulator.  That is it will be showing the entries in the window back of MDS.  It's what I expect. Then I run my application and send the thrust and everything works fine.

On the Win7 computer, I use the same version of BlackBerry Simulator 4.1.4 the same version of Eclipse and the same version of the BlackBerry Simulator.  When I access a Web site on the BlackBerry, nothing happens in the MDS Simulator Dos window.  I get a web page, but I think something is happening in the MDS Simulator Dos window.

That's where the problem lies, in my opinion, but I'm not sure.  Push sample instructions say to launch Web site on the BlackBerry browser to get the push to work properly.  Is this true or am I wrong interpret this?

Also on the Win7 machine, even if the BlackBerry browser does not have it that I'm waiting on the MDS Simulator, if I push my data in any case, I see the MDS recognizing thrust.

Long story short, my BlackBerry application will not recognize the thrust of my request to push .net on Win7, but works fine on Windows XP.

I've been watching for the last 2 days and have largely done a search, but there is not much info on this type of problem.

Any suggestions / help would be greatly appreciated?

Here is some information displayed in the window back Simulator MDS after I send my push.

  • 8320 running Simulator 4.2.2.161 will not connect to the 4.1.4 MDS Simulator

    HI -.

I just installed the 4.2.2.161 Simulator device 8320 and can't seem to connect to the network via the browser.  I run the 4.1.4 MDS Simulator.  I have several other simulators installed, and they can all connect fine when I run it.  When I'm trying to here, it is there for awhil, and then it times out with the message "unable to connect to the selected Mobile Data Service. Please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your administrator. »

I noticed a strange thing is that I do not see the "arrows" flashing at the top right of the screen of the simulated device, and I see no record appears in the MDS Simulator window.

    Please notify.

    Thank you

    Mike

Managed to get the 4.2.2.161 Simulator (8320) working on the PC with MDS 4.1.4.  The only thing I did was shut down, install the 4.2.2.163 Simulator (8310), try it (it worked), and then re-run the 4.2.2.161 Simulator (8320).  It just started working.  (If all goes well, it blocks everything works again.)

It does not always work on another PC with MDS 4.1.0 but I guess it's just a matter of MDS version.

  • BBM SDK - how to get the simulators to communicate?

Suffice it to say that I fight with my foray in BlackBerry development. Trying to get the SDK (platformdemo and tictactoe) apps work sample, I'm afraid I took a step back.

You see, I originally had it in place so that two BlackBerry simulators could message each other using BBM surveys.

Now, that no longer works, and I can just figure out why. Why BBM communication does not work?

    I am running:

    • BBM SDK Beta 4_03_10_2011
    • BlackBerry_Simulators_6.0.0.313_9800
    • MDS v3.5.3 (I checked that it works correctly, downloaded jars of policy of encryption strength unlimited etc..)
    • V1.6.0_25 Java JDK (v6 JRE)

For anyone interested, I managed to solve my problem.

I have no idea why, but previously, I could just add a new contact, put in his BBM pin code and they show up on my list of contacts in BBM, ready to engage me in conversation with them.

This time, I had to take a screenshot of the Simulator 1QR code, save it on in Photoshop, and then use that image to invite 1 Simulator Simulator 2 .

For some reason, this allowed contacts to see each other. I don't have a BlackBerry so I have no idea, but I can't really imagine that this is the way it is supposed to work since it requires users to be in the same physical location. However, it's the only way I could make it work and it turns out that the rest of my system (MDS) and so on, is correct.

  • BBM simulators

    Hi all

    I encounter the following error.

I installed the last Messenger of Blackberry SDK (4.03.10).

    (1) I followed the instructions for the installation and configuration of the system.

    (2) I start the mds and simulators (sim1.bat & sim2.bat)

    (3) try to invite a user from the other device and I EOFException in the device to receive the invitation.

I found the solution: I needed to set the English locale in Windows:

  • What are simulators worth?

If my app works on all simulators that I try, it is OK to submit the AppWorld? I am not a device to try it.

Sure. First of all, download your files .jad and .cod on a server somewhere. Remember that the server uses for these files correct mime types. On Apache, you may need to put the latter in a .htaccess file:

    AddType application/vnd.rim.cod cod

    AddType text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor jad

Assuming that you are running from Eclipse, create a run configuration that has "Devices Enable security" checked on the general tab of the Simulator tab. Also, make sure that the MDS - CS will launch with the Simulator (unless you run the MDS Simulator separately). Finally, make sure that your project is not enabled on the projects tab - you want to load it OTA, not directly from your hard drive.

Launch the simulator (s) by using the run configuration. In the Simulator, open the browser application and enter the address of your .jad file. The app must download and install live.

To clean the Simulator, run clean.bat Simulator directory.

On the 64-bit Windows 7 computer, you installed the 32-bit or 64-bit version of JDK? Note that our tools require the 32-bit JDK.
