Download a copy of Windows XP replacement?

In July ' 08, I bought a new iMac with VMware Fusion running XP Professional as OEM.  I recently upgraded the Mac OS by re - initialize hard drive (remove all) then reinstall all S/W.  Oops, the XP was installed OEM seller with no disc.  Check with the seller who said to contact Microsoft to see if I could download a replacement copy.  I recorded XP in July ' 08 and still have the receipt, the product key and license product.  Anyone know if I can, and how can I get a replacement XP installed?  Or am I stuck having to buy a version of keep 7 for $300?  Thank you very much!

I'm sorry, but this is not possible for an end user to download a version of Windows XP OEM.  Your provider should never have such a suggestion.

The seller must have given you an XP OEM installation disc.  Contact the new provider and ask them to fulfill their obligation.

I have produced key but no disc and can not get windows to run right or internet page explore wants same load. I can download a copy of Windows XP and allows to activate my product license (I need to read the original CD and not any copy)?  If not, can I use to reinstall an authentic copy of Windows XP (since I was a valid product license) without having to buy a new version of Windows?

    No, it is not downloadable.
The person who gave you the PC should have provided the disk. Otherwise, you're out of luck, unless you know somone who has the same version of the OEM Dell software that you can borrow.

  • Where can I legally download a copy of Windows XP?

Trash picked up computers and purchased at a garage sale

When I was driving around one day the reusable elements in ohio (where everyone puts the reusable elements on curbside), there is a dell computer that has a valid xp home product key, but no xp cd. Then I went to a neighborhood garage sale and I found a few more computers with windows xp (home edition and I believe it is the pro version). I want to be able to download a copy of xp family of microsoft, not illegally (illegally isn't worth not, greater risk of major security to my network). Anyone know a person within microsoft who has an email I could contact about this? Or is there a download link, as lets say, you type your valid product key, and then it allows you to download the ISO image and then I could burn on cd? Or is there a Web site to link o Microsoft for this kind of problem? Thanks for all your answers

    Hello

Microsoft prohibits any help given in these Forums for you help bypass or "crack" passwords lost or forgotten.

I suggest that you reinstall the operating system for computers, back to new condition.

If no disc came with them, contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disc for them.

They charge a small fee for this.

Also, ask the manufacturer if there is a recovery Partiiton to do this reinstall.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup.

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

    See you soon.

Edit: As they are ex-entreprise, they can also be Volume License.

If they are, we can not help you at all.

I suggest that you ask the guy you how they were allowed.

  • Anyone know where I can get or download a copy of Windows 95 or 98?

Hello. I am also looking for windows 98 or windows 95.  If no one can download windows 95/98 from the microsoft Web page, proceed as anyone know where I can download or where can I find windows 95/98, not the OEM version (I still windows 95 and windows 98 OEM version and can't do the parameter as windows on my computer because they are OEM)

    Thanks for the responses,

I know well like a legitimately safe for download - no version.  Perhaps a few TI friends could have a copy lying around - to ask them.

With regard to the implementation of OEM compared to the other - it would work whether or not it would be legitimate is another story.  However, it works very well and given operating systems - I wouldn't foresee any problems.

  • How do I download a copy of Lightroom 6 replacement?

Windows 10 destroyed my machine so I had to reinstall everything from scratch.  I bought and registered Lightroom 5 and 6, and they appear as such in my Adobe account.  However, Adobe seems determined to prevent me to download a new copy so that I can reinstall the software I paid for.  They seem intent on forcing me to go down the road of cloud, I don't intend to do so.

    Hello

The only legal Windows 7 download available is now Microsoft, as Microsoft has stopped DigitalRiver Windows 7 ISO downloads.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery

But Microsoft only provides these downloads for Windows 7 keys to selling product at retail, not preinstalled OEM product keys (Dell, HP, etc.).

If you have a Windows 7 license detail and are having trouble at the above Web site, contact Microsoft using the Support option.

If you have a preinstalled OEM license (Dell, HP, etc.), contact the manufacturer of your computer to order recovery media that they need to provide for a fee, if they still have them available...

Or you can also borrow the same exact retail edition DVD of Windows 7 and use your product key to reinstall.

The COA sticker with the product key is either or in the battery compartment on the underside of the laptop.

With a desktop computer, it's on the side, the back or the top of the computer case.

And if the computer/laptop is always up and launched, you can check under programs > the manufacturer's software > create Recovery Disk/Media or similar words

  • Certificate of authenticity will work after you install the new copy of Windows 7 64-bit?

    * Original title: COA

    Hi all

I bought a used Dell laptop which still has its COA on the bottom of the unit.  Apparently the device was installed with Win 7 when new.  I would like to install a new copy of Win 7 64 bit, but would not know if the COST I would work since there is no information if the original installation is 32-bit or 64-bit.   Thanks for any information you could share with me.

    TT

The COA will work as long you have correspondent reinstall media:

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

  • "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine" and the slow boot after malware removal

HP Pavilion dm4 my daughter recently started to take about 10-15 minutes to start, tell me that he had become infected by something questionable. It is currently running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, with AVG free anti-virus.

When we noticed the problem first, AVG has been disabled (probably by malware), and I could not turn it back on. He would not run a scan at all. I have scanned it with Norton Power Eraser and their free bootable scanner, nor identified any problems. I ran Malwarebytes in safe mode, and it found several files associated with Yontoo, which he deleted. I ran ccleaner, including the registry cleaner. At this time, AVG was returned to service, so I ran a full scan with it. AVG found several files associated with OpenCandy, which he deleted. A scan later Malwarebytes came clean.

For now, the system seems to work fine, EXCEPT: there are still a huge amount of time to start - several minutes between each step. And now, the desktop appear intermittently a message which reads: "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine".

I found a lot of discussion online about this error message, but it seems that each of them (which I reviewed) has a different twist to what I feel.

Any suggestions for next steps? Thanks in advance.
