Download game files

Hi all.

I have 60 files on the web server. (The file size is less than 50 KB)

I am trying to download one by one.

Simulator: 8900

connection: direct TCP (deviceside = true)

The problem is to launch excetions: TCP or a closed connection.

Code:

 public static void combine( String localName, String remoteName, int slices ){        HttpConnection conn = null;        InputStream in = null;        FileConnection file = null;        OutputStream out = null;        try        {            /*             * File connection             */            file = ( FileConnection )Connector.open( localName, Connector.READ_WRITE );            if( !file.exists() )            {                file.create();                file.setWritable( true );                out = file.openOutputStream();

                if( slices > 0 )                {                    for( int i = 0; i < slices; i++ )                    {

                catch( IOException e )                {                }            }            if( in != null )            {                try                {                    in.close();                    in = null;                }                catch( IOException e )                {                }            }            if( file != null )            {                try                {                    file.close();                }                catch( IOException e )                {                }                file = null;            }

            if( out != null )            {                try                {                    out.close();                }                catch( IOException e )                {                }                out = null;            }        }    }

What is the problem with the code? Or what I should do to avoid these exceptions.

Thank you.

Hi Peter. Thanks for the reply.

I added the loop with the capture of these erors and the problem has been resolved:

    private static void establish( ConnectionWrapper wrapper, String url, final int effortCount )    {        StreamConnection result = null;        int count = effortCount;

        while( true )        {            try            {                result = ( StreamConnection )Connector.open( url, Connector.READ_WRITE, true );                if( result != null )                {                    wrapper.Connection = ( HttpConnection )result;

                    break;                }            }            catch( Exception e )            {                count--;

                if( count < 0 )                {                    throw new RuntimeException( "Failed to establish connection: " + e.getMessage() );                }

                try                {                    Thread.sleep( 50 );                }                catch( Exception ex )                {                }

                result = null;            }        }    }

  • Receives the following message after opening a downloaded game: 'Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You can not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

    Hello!
    So I'm at the end of my rope with this one... it lasts for months, and I keep revisitng every two weeks to try and fix that and every time to be completely frustrated.  I found this forum tonight, so here goes...

    We downloaded a few games on the HP Games Web site.  We download them and everything works fine.  Then, we will open the games and this pop up error message:
    "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file.  You can not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

    These games used to run fine, and I have no idea why they now have problems.  We have a Vista operating system, 1 account who is the administrator, the Parental control is disabled (or if we believe).

    If anyone can please help it would be much appreciated!  We have a monthly membership to this site of game and continue to accumulate credits, but may not use it.  It makes us crazy!

    Thank you in advance!

    Hello Heathie,

    Thank you for posting.  It seems that the program is no longer on your computer.  This can happen if the game files are deleted, but the game itself has not been uninstalled correctly.  I recommend you to download the game again to a location on your computer where you can easily find and install it.  This should fix the problem.

    Please let me know if this helps you.

  • Is there a risk when you download games?

    On my att.net homepage are offers of downloadable games, like Sherlock Holmes or murder she wrote, etc..  They offer a free trial, but in the agreement, we are aware that even after you uninstall the game from our computer, some files remain in the registry. This is true for most of the games that are offered.  Is there a risk of these files remains our starting time of downturn?  Or any other hazards that we should be aware of?

    Yes, there is the risk of the remains of leftovers.  There is also the risk of inconsistency resulting from instability,

    You must install only what is necessary to reduce the left behind the clutter.

    That being said, an application of opportunity or a game should not do too much damage,

  • where downloaded games disappear to?

    For my birthday, my daughter bought me Microsoft Flight Simulator X, I downloaded the game, went to play but can not find it anywhere. When I looked in the game file, not there, when I looked in the game of Microsoft file, not there. I find it in a folder, but cannot open it. This is the second time I tried, the first I thought that I might have made a mistake, deleted the program and has started around, checked my computer online to see if there was any necessary updates, but every thing seems to be hunky dory! My rating of performance on my computer is '5', I have a lot of space and a decent graphics card.

    Question? -How can I download this game, so it leaves an icon on the desktop, so I can open it easily?

    Thank you

    *. BIN is an image file, in your case most likely a disk image. You will need a program that can burn discs, f.i. ImgBurn (www.imgburn.com) images. Burn the image to a DVD, preferably at low speed (to avoid errors) and start the installation of the game from the DVD (as you do when you buy a game packed in a store). Alternatively, you can also mount the *. BIN on a virtual drive using a program emulator such as Virtual Clone Drive (http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-clonedrive.html) disc. Some games don't like it, however, because they expect a real disc in a real player, for the purposes of copyright law.

    When you are ready to install the game, please do not use the \Program Files folder (or subfolders) on your \Windows partition as target a location. This file is a protected system and will give you problems UAC when you or the game want to do anything without explicit administrator rights.

    Hello

    You can try to delete temporary files on the computer, as well as temporary Internet files.

    a. delete files using Disk Cleanup:

    2.

    In the Disk Cleanup Options dialog box, choose whether you want to clean your own files only or all files on the computer.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3.

    If the disk cleanup: drive selection dialog box appears, select the hard disk you want to clean and then click OK.

    4.

    Click the Disk Cleanup tab and select the check boxes for files that you want to remove.

    5.

    When you have finished select the files you want to delete, click OK, and then click on delete files to confirm the operation. Product of disk cleanup to remove all unnecessary files from your computer

    b. Remove temporary Internet files:

    1. open the Internet Options by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click Network and Internet, and then clicking Internet Options.

    2. click on the Security button and then click on delete browsing history.

    3. Select the check box next to each category of information you want to delete.

    4. Select the favourite check box to preserve Web site data if you do not want to delete the cookies and files associated with websites in your Favorites list.

    5. click on remove. This could take awhile if you have a lot of files and history.

    Note: Deletion of all what can free disk space, solve problems with your web browser, and provide some additional privacy, but it might embarrass you by removing you might need information on the Internet. For example, you will have to retype the password that were previously stored on your computer.

    Depending on the platform, so that the game was up, there may be an available emulator that will allow you to run them. Looking for the name of the platform and "emulator" can give results. If they are DOS based games, DOSBox is an emulator like this.

  • Can't download games

    When I try to download games on Big Fish game site to go to download the game and it will download Msn, I click on run this file now and then that I click on run. I then this appears C:\Linda\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\TemperoraryInternetFiles\Content.IE5\...\ he also said application not found.

    Hello NmbrLcky13,

    I suggest to you that try to install the games by right click on the .exe and choose "Run as Administrator".
    If this does not help, you can try and install mode without failure. Also, I would try to save the file on your computer instead of using the term.

    Then try the installation again.

    If please reply back and let us know if it helped get your games installed.

  • Is the corrupted Windows 10 download, and if so how can I remove this and re-download the file?

    Original title: upgrade Windows 10

    I have a Dell Studio 1749 under Windows 7 Home Premium.   I postponed the upgrade of Windows 10 to the present day.  The update file appears in the control panel Windows Update Panel, but when I click start it restarts Windows 7 simply and tells me that the new updates have been installed but it was Windows 7 updates since yesterday.

    Is the corrupted Windows 10 download, and if so how can I remove this and re-download the file?    Or maybe another solution?

    Thank you.

    Review:

    Retry the upgrade manually:

    Option 1:

    Download the media creation tool

    Click with the right button on the MediaCreationTool.exe file and then click on run as administrator.

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Reboot several times, and then try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).

  • Can I download games on my drive hard (e)

    Hi guys, I'm looking for some advice. I received my new HP Phoenix h9 1040 computer yesterday, 99.6 GB os C car and a 2 TB datedrive1 E drive. I wonder as I play mainly games on the desktop, I'll be able to download games on the E drive and how? As I tried to install a game last night on the E in car, then an expansion for the game kit, it came with a message that could cause the disk to become unstable. Of course, I did something wrong and would like to know how... If I can download games on my E drive because I hardly have any room on my C left disc.

    Thank you.

    Emkins wrote: Hello, thanks, I understand some of the information that you and some of them confused hehe! Yes, you are right with the specifications of the system. OK, I understand that you must change the value by default when you download a game on drive E, the only thing that confuses me is when I click on the E drive, theres no folder to place me games like you have your files on the C drive. Its all very confusing to me, but I hope I do it in the end, if theres any other information on how to proceed would be useful, but many thanks for the information you have given to me already. Thank you.

    Hello Emkins, very probably wouldn't no matter what folder on drive E: If you have not installed the applications on this drive. You can see a system folder, which would by default, that you can not or should not try to access...

    You can go on the E: drive and create a Program Files folder, as it is on the C: drive and install new applications in this folder. Applications that are 64 bit x must be installed in this folder. If you have applications that are x 86 (32 bit) you must create a folder on the E: drive in Program Files (x 86) and install all x 86 (32-bit) applications in this folder. It is the way in which these programs are installed by default in the C: drive. If you do not create the Program Files folder and the Program Files (x 86) folder, any application that you install on the E: drive creates a folder in its own name. Make the program files files and that the path for the installation of these files to ensure that they all settle in these records and you would not have enforcement records showing on the E: directory tree.

    If you have already installed games or other applications on the C: drive, you can uninstall the C: drive and reinstall them on the E: drive, in the Program Files folder or the Program Files (x 86) folder that you created manually on the E: drive. This free capacity on the C: drive.

    If you have a game that you play, more than others, you might be able to leave it on the C: drive. This should give you the best performance if it were installed on the E: drive, since the E: drive is a flat disc.

  • Cannot download BAR file for PlayBook. "Transfer error".

    I tried to download my file .bar for playbook for 3 days now, but I keep getting errors. My .bar file is 50 MB in size, I don't know if the size is causing this problem. I tried several browsers: IE, Firefox, Chrome and Safari.

    What happens when the upload 100% or I get an error message saying "Transfer error has occurred" or the progress bar jump down to 1% and stays there until the site times out and I have to log in again.

    I tried both my click "Add filebundle".bar file buttons 'Import Batch files. "

    I tried to download my app as a .bar file and also compress the .bar in a zip file. . Bar or .zip worked using "Import Batch files" or "add a filebundle.

    I know that my .bar file is not damaged and that it is signed correctly because I am able to deploy in the PlayBook and it works perfectly.

    If I use Firefox, I always get the "transfer error occurred" error and when I use IE bar always jumps to 1% of the increase and the Web site times out.

    Has anyone of another been able to download a file of 50 MB ot more high? I see the game to PlayBook that are big more than 300 MB, so I guess that 50 MB is OK.

    Is anyone else able to download a file to all .bar the anysize?

    Thanks in advance

    Ok. I put in a ticket and received a response from Blackberry that there is currently a problem with the download of large files.

    If the person supported offered Blackberry download my file for me and my game is finally approved and live on the PlayBook. Thanks to all for your responses.

    Blackberry support said they are working on fixing it so if someone runs into a problem of downloading a large file (don't know the size limits, my record was 50 MB) don't forget to put in a support ticket, so you don't waste a lot of time
