Download picture of labview RT (no wheel)

Hello community,

I have several test systems using a host application and an RT target. Currently the process of relase for a new version of the RT target is that I use the tool RAD to deploy the RT image that I previously build from LabVIEW. As we are talking about a number of stations relase process takes longer and more that I need to use the wheel on each computer. Furthermore, if I made a mistake the recovery process gets longer and longer as well.

What I was wondering is if I can add a routine to the host application that downloads the selected target RT without using image of RAD. The advantage of this is that I only need to point to the new image on the hard drive instead of using RAD so file the release process will be much easier. (of course, my host application start time will be longer, but I can live with that)

According to THIS article, it seems its OK if I just FTP the file .rtexe in the folder c:\ni-rt\startup . It takes care of everything? (for example to add variables llbs to C:/or-rt/start/data /)

What is the best practice here?

Thank you.

Thanks for confirming. Unfortunately is not an option for me deploy the image on several targets as each RT controller is connected to its host only (local subnet), so I only see one at a time. In my view, overwhelming the rtexe will be fine for me, and in some cases when it's not that I go with the RAD.

Thank you.
