Download speeds slow r7000

only achieved after 8 months that my router R7000 has always close 3-5 mbps download speed when my ISP gave me 75mbps download.

I got the scoop from farm last updated and the customer service suggested me to use the channel '11' to 'Auto '. Tried, but for the first few minutes is good, but in no time it sinks again 3-5 Mbps download speed, I noticed that my upload speed is relatively higher.

One had the same problem?

Noticed a forum about this problem but no solution in my opinion.

If you haven't already, I would reset the router to the default values and without making all the other configurations to connect to the Internet without wifi, etc.. Now, let's see how fast you have with a computer connected to the Ethernet port. If it's good, then add your configuration in one thing at a time and test again. This should help you that the configuration option that causes the slowdown.

  • Download speed slow r7000 (wired and wireless)

I have the R7000 for about a year now and originally, I had the good download and upload speeds that corresponds with my ISP rates.

Right now my ISP (cable) delivers 120 Mbps down and 12 Mbps to the top.

However, I read an article on a website it my ISP would start by increasing the speed down to 150 Mbps and that in some areas what was already available.

That of why I unplugged my modem and plugged again after a 2 minute order to restart/reset and hoped for greater speed.

When I used several speedtesters (speedtest.net, my ISP speedtester, speedtest.nl, etc.), all came to the same result, approximately 90 Mbps down and 12 Mbps to the top.

Yesterday, I did the test on 2 separate wired computer (HTPC and desktop).

After connecting my HTPC directly to the modem and the test I got good publicity (120 Mbps down) and 12 Mbps speeds upward.

Therefore, it is certainly connected to the router.

Today, I also tried by Ookla's speedtest.net on my S5 Galaxy with 5G wireless and got the same bad results as with the wired connection (90 Mbps down) and 12 Mbps up.

I am also on a channel that is not occupied by another user.

I also noticed that the firmware version higher on the R7000 support site is 1.0.4.30, but when I look in the upper right of the router web INTERFACE it shows the version of the firmware V1.0.5.48_1.1.79.

    How is that possible?

In addition next to the Advanced Settings tab, there is a message that a new firmware is available.

When I click on this message the router tries to connect to the server to download the Netgear firmware, but after a few seconds it told me that there is no new firmware available.

I read here on the forum of others with similar problems and tried to revert to a lower firmware version.

But I could not find an answer to this version referred to a firmware that works best.

    My questions:

    (1) what would be the first thing to try?

    (2) when to return to a previous firmware, what is the best firmware choose?

    (3) what is the correct procedure for the recovery of firmware?

P.S. for your upload and download QoS information is always off.

Indeed, the RAM has solved the problem.

P.S. I accidentally marked the answer of Tarund as the answer to my question.

    Can you please remove that?

Hi @cssva3 you have the latest firmware installed on your router?

If this is not the case, see this link on how to upgrade the firmware.

After the update of the firmware, reset the router by pressing the reset for 20 seconds button.

Once done, reconfigure the router to get Internet connection.

  • Internet provider DOWNLOAD speed vs Airport Extreme

    Hello

I had download speeds slow on my Airport Extreme for ipad, iPhone and imac.

I have a modem connected via Ethernet cable to an ac Airport Extreme 802.11 Optimum.

Ran to the application of speed test on my ipad II (within 5 feet of the airport).

The results showed that the download is only 2.12mbps and upload is 24.97mbps. I pay for the 50mbps service.

I tried the same thing by using a new iPhone SE and timed to 22,93 download and upload to 23.95. A little better but still not enough good.

I contacted Optimum and they ran a couple of tests showing that my modem is online, signals are ideal, there is no loss of data to the modem and there is no failure in the region.

They recommended connect a laptop directly to the router and without going through the airport. Will try it tonight to see the results.

Assuming that the connection of the cable between the modem and the laptop is fast, what I can do to improve the speed of the WiFi?

There is something to put in place at the airport? I guess there will be a reduction in speed between wired devices and WiFi but not this bad. What is the maximum number of devices (iphones, ipads or imacs) airport can support? I have at least 6 or more WiFi sharing schemes and wonder if this is the problem.

    Thank you

    Bob

Please read using the Diagnostics wireless for you help to solve the problems of Wi-Fi on your Mac - Apple Support.

What is the maximum number of devices (iphones, ipads or imacs) airport can support?

Apple recommends 50. I got that three dozen sharing an Apple base station AirPort simultaneously with no noticeable performance degradation.

The factor limiting the bandwidth will be the most restrictive of what follows, in no particular order:

    • your ISP
    • your local wireless environment, including other interference and competing wireless networks
    • the performance of the client machine
    • out of your control network conditions

Your AEBS will not limit the bandwidth, but if you have reason to believe that it is, a "hard reset" is the only possible troubleshooting step. On rare occasions, an internal parameter becomes corrupted and this is the only way to fix it. By 'rare', I mean "almost never" and the last thing you should consider, after rule out all other possible causes of poor wireless performance.

  • WRT160N download speeds

I get me wired 12.3Mbs download speeds, but only 350 kbps wireless. I contacted the live chat of Cisco, who suggested that update the firmware. I've upgraded to V3.0.03. Now, I get download speeds of 3.0 Mbps (10 x improvement) wireless, but my Wired download speed slowed to 3.3Mbps. If I connect directly from the modem without the router, I'm wired on 12.56Mbps download speed. What gives? When I contacted the chat live once again they sent me here. Any help would be appreciated.

    Tom

I checked online and it does not appear that your Motorola SB120 has all the features router then it is a straight modem.  It should be able to be used as a bridge to your router, which is what you want.  I would consider contacting Comcast to make sure that your modem is set to full bridge mode.  You can then plug your Linksys (suggest do hard reset and using the installer to properly reconfigure your router).

  • Why my application download speed is so slow

Update of my application and download speed is so slow so even a 50 MB app take me about half an hour to complete the update

There are many factors that could affect this speed Wi - Fi or cellular, servers, etc.. If you were to explain in more detail, we might be able to help.

Try restarting your router and your iPhone.

  • Very slow download speeds

I just bought a macbook 12 "that I love. The only problem is I noticed very slow download speeds when downloading apps. I have also a 13 "macbook pro that I use on the same internet connection and downloads very quickly.  I have not tried to download any music or video yet, so I don't know if it's just a problem with applications, but it is ridiculously slow. It's a trait of these macbooks little, or something may be wrong?

  • Slow download speed after downgrading to Windows 7 64 bit

    Hi all!

I'm new here! My first laptop is a Toshiba Satellite since 2003. Since then, I got one couple of others.
Now I bought a new: Satellite P70-A-11V, a portable professional high-end computer, which came with Windows 8, which I upgraded to 8.1.

Unfortunately, the degraded system so bad that all pendrives made plant. I have connected my Toshiba camcorder, and it also crashed the laptop. The search indexing was not working outside the C: drive. The pointer of an optical mouse has started to freeze for seconds on the screen.

This last problem, which I think was due to the low power USB ports. So, I really had no choice after 2 restorations system total and installed Windows 7 Enterprise x 64 SP1. The operating system seems ok, but I always have problems, and one of them is that my download speed is very low, as well with LAN cable or wireless. I can't tell how is download speed.

My internet provider provides 100 MB/s internet access via optical cable. I test on Speedtest.net and normally, it gives a range of 50 to 80 Mbps actual download speed. Then, if I check the speed of the connection Wireless wireless connection status, I experience a maximum of 130 MB/s, which is constant. Large.
Yet, no download occurs at a speed of wretched 400 to 500 kbit/s, as if it was a dial-up connection. This problem was not present before.

I tried to change several settings according to the forums, but nothing helped. I disabled the firewall and stimulated wireless (duplex 100 MB) and also tried through LAN cable. The rated speed is great, but apparently the slowness problem is inside the laptop, not outside. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

I checked the Toshiba download page and your laptop is fully supported for Win7 64 bit. Drivers LAN and WLAN are available also so I hope that you have installed all the drivers, tools, and utilities including LAN and WLAN. Can you confirm this?

  • On R7500/R7800 slow download speeds

    Hello:

R7500 and R7800: I see slow speeds (wireless). Wired devices do not exhibit this problem.

After that spend many hours of research and talking with support (which replaced my unit) I found that the problem is with the WAN port. The problem does not exist when you use a switch between the router and the modem netgear. I saw several people in the forums to have this problem so I hope this helps.

I don't think that this workaround is however acceptable.

Is this something that can be fixed with a firmware version?

Steps to reproduce in my case are very simple:

1 - R7500/R7800 connect to a POE Ubiquiti - 24 - 12 10/100 (in my case I have internet citiwide wireless). Make sure your download speed is greater than 20

2 - test the wireless and wired with the netgear router and the router netgear download speeds.

    M.

NETGEAR has released a new firmware for the R7800 that solved the problem (Fw 1.0.2.04)

Now, I still have my old computer sitting here and it is on the same network WIFI get 10 to 15 Mbps of speedtest. It's a dell inspiron with windows vista. This must be a matter of hardware/software. I saw many posts to ask this question but I havnt seen the answers. Please tell me you can help...

    -Ray

    All,

I have this SAME problem.  I just bought my m6 Pavilion three days previously and immediately noticed that the download speed is very slow.  In addition, a lot of things people recommend this site do take into account that the laptops are brand new, the parameters are already factory installation and things are not running in the background whenever we try to download.  And just like the original - poster I have my old laptop awkward, almost dead here and it's the things download 5 times faster than my new laptop.

Also, I found another post online from a user in HP Pavilion, who bought a new laptop and this is the slow download.

So taking all this into account, a PERSON LOGIC CAN CONSLUDE THAT THE PROBLEM IS WITH the computer PORTABLE PAVILION.  Yes, is there an employee HP mans this site who can lift this problem and come back with the official HP answer to why this problem occurs?  I will definiately go online and noted the low ratings sites flag if I don't get an adequate response.

  • On wrt1900AC slow download speeds

Since the update to the latest FW (1.1.10.167514) my downloads were excruciatingly slow.  My ISP connection should allow download speeds close to 100 Mbit/s, and I could download approaching the sppeds before the recent FW update. Now I see bearly over 10 Mbps of download speed.  In addition, where Windows wifi signal meter shows 5 bars before the update, it now saves only 2 bars, when I connect to the router to 5.0 GHz.   What is happening and how to downgrade to the previous verision of the FW? Thank you

You can use this previous firmware if you have a WRT1900AC V1:

  • Download speed very slow on laptop HP G62

I just bought a new laptop HP, the Intel i3 G62, everything I download a maximum of 33 kbps. My last laptop was at least 450-500 kb/s.

Its the same wireless router and I don't know why he wouldn't just download at normal speed?

Also why the Fn key is locked on and how disable you it on this model?

Thanks in advance for any help

    PROBLEM * PROBABLY * SOLVED!

Well, I tried something I should have done immediately: download the latest driver wireless.

After you have installed the latest driver for my G62-340US laptop wireless, I'm finally reaching internet download speeds similar to my office (which is connected directly to the router).

I will edit this post once I have do some testing LAN speed, but it looks very promising so far...

    EDIT:

Yep, LAN speeds are where they should be with my current wireless router.

Anyone else having a problem with slow download speeds should update their driver.
