Code800F900 'unknown error in windows update' trying to download windows vista service pack 2
try to download windows vista service pack 2. Last update was on May 21, 2010. For a few weeks or months, the computer can be terribly slow. Often a hard drive rattle sound. For this, I tried anti-spyware, last week I installed and ran AdAware from lavasoft. It found nothing except two small cookies. A few weeks earlier, I had done the same thing using windows Defender. Also nothing. Along with a check disk hard I did not find much either. What end of the lifecycle for this computer, now about 3 years? He was one of the first available vista computers. Thank you for your help, Peter

I restarted bit keep getting option start normally or run repair program. ATER prog of running repair, he says he could not solve the problem and only asked if I wanted to report it. Computer wont even start in safe mode. Damage in the registry? Anyway my computer software was loaded at the factory and I don't have a recovery with her disk. Is there anyway that I can enter the partision to reload Vista? Otherwise, someone ' one can suggest how to fix my startup boot up?
Hi coopervane,
You can try a system restore by booting from the Windows Vista disc. Will need you the Windows Vista disc to do an offline system restore. You may need to contact the manufacturer of the computer or make arrangements for any Windows Vista disk that will help you start the computer and go to optins Startup Repair tool.
To use offline system restore, you must have a Windows Vista CD or DVD. In addition, your computer must be configured to start from the CD-ROM or DVD drive. In some cases, you may need to change the settings of the BIOS on the computer to configure the computer to start from the CD-ROM or DVD drive. For more information on the configuration of the computer to start from the CD-ROM or DVD drive, see your computer documentation or contact the manufacturer of the computer. A recovery disk will not help, because it will erase all your data.
First of all, start the computer from the reader. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Insert the Windows Vista CD / DVD and restart the computer.
2. When you receive the following message appears, press a key:
Press any key to start from the CD or DVD.
3. set the following preferences, and then click Next:
o language to install
o time and currency formats
o keyboard or input method
Then, use the offline System Restore to remove the service pack of Windows Vista. To do this, follow these steps:
1. click on repair your computer, select the operating system you want to repair if necessary and then click Next.
2. click on System Restore, and then click Next.
3. click about to restore that corresponds to the date of installation of the service pack. The Restore Point will be labeled either install: Windows Update or install: Windows Vista Service Pack
. 4 confirm the disk hard that you want to restore, and then click Next.
5. click Finishand then click Yes when you are prompted.
6. when the system restore process is complete, click restart to restart the computer.
7. when the computer restarts, click close to confirm that the system restore completed successfully.
I hope this information is useful.
Please let us know if you need further assistance.

Windows 7 service pack 1 is 18% full and then the error Code is 80200053
I tried to download and install the new update for windows 7, but I get an error every time. It's Windows 7 service Pack 1 for x 64 systems (KB976932). He gets 18% full and then said he could not be updated. The error Code is 80200053
I had this exact question and until I went under optional updates and installed the patch KB2285068 (Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 2) and KB2488113 (certain day of random reliability), the Service Pack 1 update has failed every time. Once the updates have been applied SP1 successfully installed. I am on Windows 7 x 64. Someone at - there still the difficulty that should give a try.

How can I get Windows XP Service Pack 3 for a computer?
When I google Windows XP Service Pack 3 it gives me that several computers on a network, but I only need one for a single computer. Thanks for any response.
Download this file and to ignore warnings on the web page about it being for several computer or network use:
http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=24
It will install correctly on a single PC. Also note that the other answering your question is incorrect - answering machine apparently does not realize that the SP3 must be installed before the Windows updates will work, and he gave you the version SP3 which without a doubt, you do not install as that one is for developers or people who need to debug Windows debug/checked.

Windows 7 Service Pack 1 made my computer slow down
Yesterday, I was pretty stupid to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 in my laptop HP dv6 - 1253cl and now all my laptop programs take longer to start, compared to the day before yesterday. I have installed any hardware or additional software in the meantime. The only difference is the Service Pack. My main program, Call of Duty world at war now takes FIVE times as long to start and also between screens. Answer now is too late and all programs now freeze for about 30-45 seconds before they meet again.
I tried to uninstall Service Pack 1, but inexplicably, there are a ton of updates that have not been deleted.
Microsoft does not control the quality of patches that release? What can I do now to find the performance that I had only two days ago?
Hi daffy688,
Windows 7 Service pack and other updates to Windows are released to improve the performance, reliability and security of the system, there could be several reasons why you experience performance problems on your computer.
I want to clarify if you have uninstalled or removed Service Pack 1 from your computer.
Try the following steps:
Method 1: Run the troubleshooter of performance and then check
Open the troubleshooter of Performance
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-performance-Troubleshooter
Method 2: If a Protection of resources Windows (WRP) file is missing or is damaged, Windows may not behave as expected. Auditor of file system (CFS) scan to fix all of the corrupted system files. To do this, follow the steps mentioned in the link below:
How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833
Method 3: Put the computer to boot and then check if the problem persists
Follow step 1 in the link below,
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.
Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service.
After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.
Important: n ' forget not to put the computer to a normal startup follow step 7 in the link.
Thank you, and in what concerns:

Visit our Microsoft answers feedback Forum and let us know what you think.I also had the same problem. Quad Core Desktop, 4 gig of Ram, 500 GB HD 2/3 empty... I defrag 2 x a week and run AV and don't go on any websites or torrent or one of those things. My machine is clean for businesses only.
My machine was running fast enough, until I installed SP1 for Windows 7, 64-bit last weekend (February 25, 2011).
Now it's SLOW start, it takes 2-3 minutes and programs are extremely slow to respond.
Can you make any suggestions outside reimage my entire system nettoieriez this?
I don't want to have to get phone support for MS Office Small Business and claim that I'm reimage my system and they have I would like to reinstall my 1 license. I went through this recently... and I was very angry.

problems after downloading windows xp service pack 3
I recently downloaded service pack 3 on my advent T12. It seemed to download very well and when it restarts automatically he started very well too, but when I tried to restart it then the log on screen did not appear; It started to load as usual and the screen with the windows logo appears, but then after that it was just a black screen, if the computer was still running. I was able to boot in SafeMode ok and took the restore point. After that it restarted again as usual, but I have no sound. I have a device high definition audio C-media. You can hear the sounds system, but nothing about DVD or music files. When I go to Device Manager it isn't even an audio device listed. I tried to download the driver from the microsoft update catalog, but I have no idea what to do with a .cab file once its downloaded. Whenever I restart my computer, looking for a PCI device it says that it cannot find the software. I've downloaded SP3 again and when I do it locates new peripherals - audio on bus high definition audio and successfully downloaded the software and I have her again but am back to the problem of having no log on screen! This time I uninstalled SP 3 in the Panel, and he warned me it would be it would cause a problem with the audio device. So I can SP2 with no sound, but the computer starts very well or SP3 with the sound, but it won't restart. I searched and searched on the internet and on the site of microsoft for some answers, but I'm a loss. Please can anyone suggest a solution? I'm not overwhelmingly technical. Thank you
