Dreamweaver CC and Session Variables

My name is Mike.

I'm Canadian, which means I am educated and experienced. I a BTech degree and a solid knowledge of information technology. It became necessary for me to acquire the skills needed to develop a web page and, eventually, a mobile application. The standard of the industry for web development is widely known to be Dreamweaver.

OK, so no problem, I'm subscribed to Adobe Creative Cloud and Dreamweaver CC.

But...

It turns out that the feature I need, the Variables de Session PHP, is no longer seriously. My needs are simple, I need to be able to create simple shapes and connect them to a MYSQL database, but the function of "Server behavior" are not available in Dreamweaver CC.

My research says that I can add this feature as an extension, but my efforts to add the desired extensions failed.

Extension Manager installs, but Dreamweaver does not appear in the list of products

Also when research in the installation of Adobe/Dreamweave cc file directory does not exist?

Then...

Either I need to uninstall Dreamweaver CC and install Dreamweaver C6 (which includes this feature)

or

I need to know how to manage my need to connect to a form to my MYSQL db variable

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Sincerely Mike's

PHP is not the only choice for session management and communication with a database, but it is the most widely used and should be easy for someone with a degree of BTech and a thorough knowledge of information technology to pick up pretty quickly. Nancy was advised to replace server with a modern extension behaviors, paid, I think you could learn to code yourself without too much effort.

If your goal is to develop an app for Android/iPhone, you also have to have knowledge of JavaScript. PHP is a language server side, if the code works only on the server. It will not work in the browser, or inside a mobile application. Its role is to manage sessions and to communicate with the database on the server. Native applications for Android are written in Java (which is different from JavaScript). Native applications for the iPhone are written in Objective C or Swift.

Unless you become a full-time app developer, separate coding apps for Android and iPhone in Java and objective C/Swift is not only will present a massive learning curve, but it is probably unnecessary. The first road you need Explorer is Apache Cordova. It's a solution open source that uses HTML, CSS and JavaScript to target multiple mobile devices. It was called PhoneGap and a certain stage has been integrated into Dreamweaver. However, Adobe has decided to publish the project to the Apache Foundation. Adobe is still running PhoneGap Build, which takes a lot of punishment of compilation for the native formats of mobile.

As I said earlier, learn PHP needed to manage sessions and to communicate with a database should not be too heavy for you. I'm actually the author of the book, PHP Solutions, Rob Hecker2 recommended. I can confirm that it contains the information you need. I am also the author of a series of PHP courses on lynda.com. You will find also many Apache Cordova and PhoneGap Build by Chris Griffith course on lynda.com.

One thing you need to know with JavaScript, it is he underwent many changes in the last year or two. You must make sure that all resources allows you to learn JavaScript are up to date. The latest version of JavaScript is ss6 (more formerly EcmaScript 2015). It contains many features that are not supported by older browsers. I don't know if Apache Cordova supports yet, either.

Language learning is not the really hard part. Is learning what is supported and when it is the real challenge. Good luck.

    If I write the code on the homepage of a Web site to clear users cache whenver they sail on it, it clears all session variables that where defined within the site? • JavaScript and SESSION variable

    Everyone,

    Here's my question. I am putting together an application and I use a date picker Javascript. I want to do is when the form is sent on itself I want to set a SESSION variable to the date that was selected when someone returns to the page there so the selected date already chosen and not the date of the day like this is happening now. My knowledge of javascript is somewhat limited, but I included a link to the js file and the code of the page that calls it. It looks like var today = Date(). do I have to change I'm not really sure how to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Help to update session variables

    I have a page "update account" where a user can update their account. I am using session variables, but may not know how to perform the update and reset session variables. Of course, if a user is on the site, session variables are used, so I'm confused.

    I posted a similar message a few weeks back, but never had what I was looking for. In any case, I've posted the code below with a few notes:

    I have attached the code, it is quite long.

    You can see that I want to use a single page (action = "#CGI.script_name #"), but having to do with a second page would agree. Also, I'm not updated each variable field and database session. For example, the fields JoinDate and birth date and session variables are left alone.

    Thank you.

    Doug, I have probably 20 different books, I need to read, still only use them for reference, so I know what you're saying...

    you want to store all this information of Member to the sessions, that's what I say...
    in the table of your members, your Member ID (what is a user name or an incremented number?) either or, you can save that, as the single session var. so whenever you need to refer to it, have a query to get...

    SELECT FullName, username, password, SecurityQuestion, SecurityAnswer, Email, Email2, date of birth, address.
    Address2, city, region, PostalCode, country, phone, telephone2, PostalCode2, list mailing, MemberID, Mem berRoleID
    Members
    WHERE MemberID = #SESSION. Member ID #.

    But whatever it is, that this number can NEVER change, they must never have the opportunity to change it. This is their unique identifier, even better, you can store it in a COOKIE on their machine so he can remember who they are when they come to the site.

    using this method, when a user needs to update their information, their cookie or session.memberid never changes, and there is no need to change in the workplace application session variables. Just do a query UPDATE to update your database and a query on the db to get the information from user with their uniqueID

    What you want to do? Given the nature of your question, it seems that you probably don't know what a session variable is used. The PHP manual describes the purpose of sessions here: http://docs.php.net/manual/en/intro.session.php.

    I need to change all the form variables in $msg in session variables. The $to part is supported. What remains are the $subject and $msg fields.

    $à = « à : ». $_SESSION ["toemail"];

    Why do you need to change the form variables in session variables? They are already stored in session variables, or they come directly from the form?

    The $to part is not supported. When you pass $to to the mail() function, it should contain only an e-mail address, not a string that begins with "to:

  • Helps the guest of session variable and dashboard

    Hi, I ran into soemthing that I can't understand.

    In the administration tool, I defined a CURR_MONTH session variable and set the query to find month max in the date dimension. It's all works fine - if I test the variable in OBIEE administration tool, it currently returns "January 2010".»

    In addition, in the responses, I can create a query that moves back calendar information and then put a filter on it so the specific columns is equal to the session variable. It works perfectly - I get the 3 lines of return data that correspond to the 3 days of data we loaded for January 2010.

    However, now that I'm trying to do is set a dashboard with the dimension command prompt date in it. I want the default to months / year equal to the value of CURR_MONTH. However, when I do this, instead of getting the correct value, for some reason some, it becomes the default value I put in place for this variable.

    Any ideas on what I am doing wrong or if it is a bug?

    Thanks in advance,
    Scott

    Take a look at the shared objects, I think these are the kind of thing you're after. In my view, that the subtopic "By specifying a path" must be particularly pertinent for sharing variables/objects between two swf files.

  • How to add an extra session variable to authenticate the connection

    Hello

    IM totally new to php and dreamweaver develop a web application that uses the user name and password to authenticate the connection, and works very well. My question is, how do I add an extra session variable to capture another field in the users table for example type to redirect some pages based on the value of the type?

    If you're completely new to Dreamweaver and PHP, it sounds as if you're using Dreamweaver server behaviors. Take a friendly piece of advice and stop using the server now behaviors. They have been removed from Dreamweaver CC a couple of years because they use functions that had to be stripped on the next version of PHP. This version (PHP 7) was released in November. If you rely on Dreamweaver server behaviors, you are living on borrowed time. For a person to debut, it makes no sense to learn how to use a dead technology. The server behaviors work only in PHP 5. As soon as your server is upgraded to 7 PHP, you will have to start all over again. To understand the problem, see the following page in the PHP online documentation: PHP: Introduction - manual.

    If you want Dreamweaver to generate the code for you, you will need to use (paid-for) third-party extensions, such as those created by DMXZone or WebAssist. You can also learn how to write PHP code yourself. It is not as difficult as it sounds.

  • Help with the session variable PHP CS5.5 - Please

    Hi all

    I am needing a little help with the help of a session variable, and I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

    I created a PHP page that uses the Dreamweaver 'User authentication' feature and the basics of this works very well, to direct a user to the correct page depending on whether they are or are not a valid user. I want to customize the page 'user valid' with people, user name entered in the authentication of the user table... a seemingly simple task using a session variable, but I just seem not to be able to make it work!

    The generated code for the AU on page 1 is the following:

    <? PHP

    Validate request to connect to this site.

    If (! isset {})

    session_start();

    }

    $loginFormAction = $_SERVER ['PHP_SELF'];

    If (isset($_GET['accesscheck'])) {}

    $_SESSION ['PrevUrl'] = $_GET ['accesscheck"];

    }

    If (isset($_POST['txtfirst_name'])) {}

    $loginUsername = $_POST ['txtfirst_name'];

    $password = $_POST ['txtsurname'];

    $MM_fldUserAuthorization = "";

    $MM_redirectLoginSuccess = "member_update.php";

    $MM_redirectLoginFailed = 'login.php ';

    $MM_redirecttoReferrer = false;

    @mysql_select_db ($database_panto, $panto);

    $LoginRS__query = sprintf ("SELECT firstname, name OF web_access WHERE firstname = %s AND family name = %s",

    GetSQLValueString ($loginUsername, "text"), GetSQLValueString ($password, "text"));

    $LoginRS = mysql_query ($LoginRS__query, $panto) or die (mysql_error ());

    $loginFoundUser = mysql_num_rows ($LoginRS);

    $loginStrGroup = "";

    $MM_redirectLoginSuccess = $_SESSION ["PrevUrl"];

    }

    }

    }

    ? >

    First of all, the text highlighted in red above seems to be setting the session variable that I need. Is this correct?

    If so, what is the code that I need to put on page 2 to use this session variable? or

    I have to do something else on the page 1 to correctly assign the session variable?

    Would be very grateful for your expertise

    Mark

    It seems that you put the columns incorrectly in the user authentication server behavior. This is the SQL query that checks the credentials of the user:

    $LoginRS__query = sprintf ("SELECT firstname, name OF web_access WHERE firstname = %s AND family name = %s",

    GetSQLValueString ($loginUsername, "text"), GetSQLValueString ($password, "text"));

    You are looking for first name and last name, while you should look for the user name and password of the user.

    $_SESSION ['MM_Username"] is a session variable that stores the login name of the user. To use it in a page, all that is needed is the page start with session_start(). You can then echo the value to display.

    If you want to display the person's true name, you must create a recordset in the second page, use of $_SESSION ['MM_Username'] to search for the first name and the patronymic. Alternatively, you can change the code like this (I copied only part of it):

    $LoginRS__query = sprintf ("SELECT firstname, surname OF web_access WHERE firstname = %s AND password is %s",

    GetSQLValueString ($loginUsername, "text"), GetSQLValueString ($password, "text"));

    $LoginRS = mysql_query ($LoginRS__query, $panto) or die (mysql_error ());

    $loginFoundUser = mysql_num_rows ($LoginRS);

    If {($loginFoundUser)

    $loginStrGroup = "";

    $row = mysql_fetch_assoc ($LoginRS);

    $_SESSION ['full_name'] = $row ["FirstName"]. ' ' . $row ['name'];

    If (via PHP_VERSION > = 5.1) {session_regenerate_id (true) ;} else {session_regenerate_id() ;}

    Declare two session variables and assign them

    $_SESSION ['MM_Username"] = $loginUsername;

    $_SESSION ["MM_UserGroup"] = $loginStrGroup;

    You can then use $_SESSION ['full_name'] in a page which begins with session_start().

Now, I want to get the session variable to read the same table but the different FullName field. This way, that the web pages will say Welcome "FullName (based on their login user name)" I tell myself that I have to configure a query parameter, but after trying and failing for four hours to produce a successful result, I resorted to post my problem here. I appreciate the help and advice.
