Dreamweaver css beginner

trying to learn more about CSS in Dreamweaver.

First thing I notice that differs by an html page, it's CSS pages started by this 'code ' -.

@charset "utf-8";

/ * CSS document * /.

What is the devil?

and if I want to write some CSS, I should write before or after this code?

And why is there no 'Design' in CSS view, as it is in HTML?

Thank you!!

If anyone knows any real basic simple tutorials or books that I can benefit,

Please let me know. Thanks again!

None of this code is required to write some CSS.

And why is there no 'Design' in CSS view, as it is in HTML?

Because there is nothing to display in Design view.

CSS contains only text formatting instructions so that the browser knows how to display an HTML page.

Without an HTML page, there is nothing to show. CSS is just a bunch of CSS rules. When a CSS page is linked to an HTML page, the HTML code comes to life (becomes pleasantly formatted) in Design view, and in browsers.

  • My design dreamweaver css code is not correctly copy on my external program to send emails.

    I use a template and put the code in the program that I actually send the email through. I used a template, dreamweaver and css code is not all come through. When I receive the test e-mail in my Inbox, some parts are correct, but others are just completely false. I tried to figure out how to solve this problem, but I'm still new to dreamweaver and coding in general.

    Chances are that you try to process an html email as if it were a normal html page and left some of your css in thesection is stripped out of your e-mail client.

    It is difficult to say without seeing the code that you are handling well.

    HTML emails have a different set of rules than the normal html pages. Message from Nancy O here, explains a good part of it: HTML email & Newsletter blasts - http://alt-web.com/

  • Use of DreamWeaver CSS Desinger to?

    I subscribe CS6 cloud creative and saw the new CSS designer feature which I want to use.

    I am now confused with the Adobe product lines. As a subscriber of creative cloud Adobe said I always have access to the latest version of my products. It turns out that the new CSS designer is only available in DreamWeaver CC. I don't see anywhere how to download DreamWeaver CC or update my existing Version of CS. Not only Adobe has rectified the existing version of CS6 in the past two months two times in regards to the fluid layout and its golden grid which is very confused now they also diverted some features in the new version of CC.

    Can someone plase tell me this disorder and how can I clean.

    As a Web Designer working with delicate design, I'd love to check out all the new features.

    Thank you

    CC products will be available from next Monday. The rest is irrelevant. Reread the announcemnts correctly.

  • Basic Dreamweaver, CSS. Need help to start, where to start?

    Hi all

    I'm relatively new to web design and dreamweaver - I took a class for more than a year and remember some of the basics, but it must be put to the test now. My boss asked to update the company's Web site, and I need to know the best way to go about it.

    I know that the original site was created with dreamweaver - I have a .css file (which, if I remember corectly, is the file I open really with dreamweaver, right?), as well as the additional files/folders. The problem, however, is that the company's computers is not dreamweaver on it, and my laptop - which does not have the program - has no access to network drives, where the files are located.

    Can I just transfer the files from the network drive > zip drive > my laptop and then work on the site from here? If so, what file I actually would open in dreamweaver - the .css?

    If it is against the use of my own laptop good and that they are, can I update the site using an open-source program? If so, any recommendations?

    I know that these are fundamental issues, but once I started I know I'll be good to go. Thanks for any help, we appreciate it!

    As I said before, Dreamweaver is a program based on the site. The basic idea is that you create an exact copy of the live site on your local hard drive. Make the changes or to create new pages in your Dreamweaver site. When you are satisfied with the way in which the pages locally, you connect to the live server and download new or updated files up-to-date. That's all.

    If you create a new file or new file, Dreamweaver creates copies of these files and folders on the server if you select in the files Panel, and then click Put icon (which looks like an arrow pointing upwards). As long as the root of the site in your Dreamweaver site definition contains the files and folders in the same hierarchy on the online site, everything will be transferred to the right place. The root of the site is the top level of the site. Let's say that the home page of your site is http://www.example.com/index.html, index.html must be in the root of your Dreamweaver site. If you have a page at http://www.example.com/products/widgets.html, widgets.html must be in a folder called products inside your Dreamweaver site root.

    The principle works with Dreamweaver is very simple. Simply, it stores a local copy of the site. The difficult part is the design of the site and style it with CSS.

  • Using Dreamweaver CSS

    , I'm working on the construction of a new Web site. It's very simple, but I'm kind again, so I work through this tutorial http://www.456bereastreet.com/lab/developing_with_web_standards/csslayout/2-col/

    I attached a css stylesheet and only add two things to the worksheet. They are

    @charset "UTF-8";

    / * CSS document * /.

    {body

    margin: 0;

    padding: 0;

    color: #000

    background: #a7a09a;

    }

    {#containter}

    width: 750px;

    auto margin: 0;

    background: #99 c;

    }

    Nothing moves on the page however. I saved and made a refreshment. Is written in script? What all I need to check? It's in the head and the menu appears fine
    < script src = "SpryAssets/SpryMenuBar.js" type = "text/javascript" > < / script > "
    < link href = "SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css" rel = "stylesheet" type = "text/css" / > "
    < link href = "RenalGourmet.css" rel = "stylesheet" type = "text/css" / > "
    < / head >

    {#body}

    background color; Black;

    margin: 0;

    padding: 0;

    color: #10438b;

    background: #a7a09a;

    }

    {#containter}

    Width: 750px;

    Auto margin: 0;

    Background: #99 c;

    }

    You don't need the # in front of the css 'body '. Also-background color; Black; should be background-color: black; (a colon after 'color') not a semicolon.

    However as you have "background: #a7a09a;' later in the css cascade that cancels the first instance of the background color;"

    This:

    {#body}

    background color; Black;

    margin: 0;

    padding: 0;

    color: #10438b;

    background: #a7a09a;

    }

    Must be:

    {body

    background-color: black;

    margin: 0;

    padding: 0;

    color: #10438b;

    background: #a7a09a;

    }

  • Insertion of Flash Template in Dreamweaver CS4 (Beginner)

    Hello

    I bought a flash off www.templatemonster.com model

    I downloaded and unpacked the full model and I would like to change it to the content, text, images, colors, etc..

    My only question is:

    1. what FILE download in dreamweaver to start editing my site?

    Also there are tutorials on editing text, pictures, etc.

    Thank you

    1. make sure you have everything unpacked in a single folder.

    2. define a site in Dreamweaver pointing to this file.

    The page that you need to work on would probably be called index.html

    Regarding the images etc, you probably need a program like photoshop or fireworks graphics.

    Weren't there any help docs included in your purchase?

  • Dreamweaver is randomly delete my .css file and then crashing... need help as soon as POSSIBLE!

    I use Dreamweaver CS 5.5 to my work.  I just built a new Web site for the company use it for awhile, it was delete completely while in dreamweaver css file, and there was the little * next to the title as he had not been registered.  usually, I would try to close it without saving or crashing which is normally done after what is happening.  So far, the css files were not totally deleted... yet.  I do not expect that to happen before as I have try to fix it.  I searched google and forums and have found nothing or related topics.  I had my computer completely reformatted and that seemed to have fixed for a short period.  Now I'm on another web project and does it again, but this site is bigger and more important than the previous, and I don't have as much time to work on it.  Has anyone encountered this bug at all?  I need to get this fixed as soon as POSSIBLE... Really, I wouldn't lose my files.  I tend to hit Ctrl + S instinctively these days and I wouldn't do that, while it's been deleted.  Besides the downtime to restart Dreamweaver only that she is do it again 5 minutes later.

    Specifications of the computer:

    • Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit
    • Dreamweaver CS 5.5
    • 24 GB RAM
    • Intel Xeon X 5650 @ 2.67GHz/2.66GHz (2 processors - 24 cores)
    • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570

    Please let me know if there is no solution to this.  Thank you!

    Hmmmm...  When the content of the files disappears at random, it is usually a symptom of something much more deep - like a nasty Trojan/Virus, a failing hard drive, bad CPU or damaged user account.

    You can try the usual alternatives of DW below, but I think you might want your guys/girls TI to run some diagnostics on your computer.

    #1 make sure your CSS & HTML files contain the code invalid.  The tools of the W3C below.

    http://Jigsaw.w3.org/CSS-validator/

    http://validator.w3.org/

    # 2 acting weird, the first thing to try is to delete the Cache of corrupt in DW DW start

    http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/494811

    #3 if that doesn't help, try to restore preferences

    #4 if all else fails, use the CS tools cleaner below followed by a re - install software.

  • By aligning the Center in Dreamweaver Web page

    Hello. I am a beginner and I'm trying to align the second page of the entire site. I managed to center align perfectly the first page by clicking on the border, but when I export the second page of Photoshop, Dreamweaver CSS code appears and it's the only thing different from the two that will not let me choose the border, so I can center align. See the first page a + 280 lines of code, while a second + 400 lines. Also, I can't find the zoom tool. If please see the images and hope an answer from someone.

    Screen Shot 2014-10-24 at 10.29.30 PM.png

    Screen Shot 2014-10-24 at 10.30.01 PM.png

    The construction of the two pages are completely different, the first page makes use of TABLE for layout, the second page uses DIV to its layout.

    The first page is centered using the align property as in the table

    Align = "center".

    The second page is trying to align the page by applying an automatic to an element with an ID of principal as in margin

    #main {}

    margin-right: auto;

    left margin: auto;

    }

    But it won't work because the width of the element is not known. If we add a width as in

    #main {}

    margin-right: auto;

    left margin: auto;

    Width: 1281px;

    }

    you will notice that the page has been centered.

    Having said the above, I shudder when I see the construction of two pages. I think you need to catch up with markup (HTML) and style (CSS) before you tackle the creation of web pages.

  • Impossible to draw AP Div Panel to insert, as described in the tutorial "classroom: basic Site layout and Navigation in Dreamweaver.

    I tried to perform the draw AP Div from the Panel to insert as described in the tutorial "classroom: basic Site layout and Navigation in Dreamweaver", but this option is not available/visible since my last update t CC of Dreamweaver.
