  Dreamweaver CS3 problem (version 9.0 build 53)-with FTP. I took my host FTP connection settings and try to put them in Dreamweaver - it download my site only partially. If I use the same settings on FileZilla FTP - it download the site as intended. What is the problem with my Dreamweaver FTP?

  Dreamweaver CS3 is a very old program. 8 full behind versions. It is likely that the DW FTP is obsolete and does not support connections to the host.

  I got this same error this morning when I tried to open Dreamweaver CS5 (any type of document have been found in the...). I'm on a PC. There was very little posts about it so I thought I'd post what worked for me. It must have been a day or something by Akamai.

  I went to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS5\configuration\DocumentTypes and open MMDocumentTypes.xml in Notepad ++. There were about 100 lines of NULL in the configuration of Akamai, so I deleted all the information between the   for Akamai and DW fine after that. Don't forget to backup before overwriting!

  This seems to be a problem with corrupt preferences.

  Please restore preferences for Dreamweaver as shown in the link below.

  Restore preferences | Dreamweaver CS6, Dreamweaver CC

  (restoration of the DW preferences with erase all records of preferences on machine and Dreamweaver will launch as a first start however it will keep the data for your predefined sites)

  If the problem persists, please uninstall and reinstall Dreamweaver and you should be all set. At the time of uninstall you will be prompted to keep or delete the preferences and you must select the option to delete the preferences.

  Is anyone know how to add (or activate) syntax highlighting for the types of files in other/other Dreamweaver cc? I have no problem in previous versions of Dreamweaver.

  Connect with their shells and go to:

  cd /Users/Your_Admin_Username/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver CC/en_US/Configuration
  

  Replace Your_Admin_Username with your admin username

  All files are located here. Extensions.txt and MMDocumentTypes.xml/Types Document

  Go and change with

  vi Extensions.txt
  

  or whatever you prefer.

• Child .swf problem

  Hello, I was hoping that someone may be able to help me with a problem I've been and unloading external .swfs, ill try to explain this better than I can.

  I have two .swf files, that are connected to an external .as file. One is the main, the other is the child being loaded in the main .swf file. The user clicks a button in the .swf main trigger of a function contained in the .as file that load child .swf.

  Now, I have a Boolean variable in the child .swf, which gets the value true to a certain part of the movie, this variable is sent in the .as file then taken the start of a function using ENTER_FRAME to unload the movie (unloadAndStop ()). The problem, I think I'm having is the sprite container (which is created in the .as file), is not recognized as a child, so will not unload. However if I create a CLICK MouseEvent and point it at the sprite unloadAndStop() function works well, but I would like to avoid that if possible. That's what I have in the .as file:

  (endFind is the Boolean value is set in the child .swf and the loadSWF() is called by a button in the main .swf)

  A better way to deal with children is to listen only for them to say something and then take action.  What that means, it's basically the child to have just send an event and have the parent look for him so that he could take action.  So for this you need to assign a listener to the object after it has loaded...

  The loaded file using _root references?  If so, you must set the _lockroot true inside this file property so that it does not seek beyond itself to the _root of the file that it loads.  If you are not familiar with it, it is documented in the help files for Flash with examples.

• Display swf problem

  Hey, I have several sovereign wealth funds and I can nest them in html without problem.  However, a swf is causing me problems.  This swf contains an animation on the stage as a preloader.  The rest of the SWF is then completely managed by an external as3 class.  The as3 class to load an xml file and prepare the images.  After its complete, removing the charger removeChild (preloader); (the original animation that displayed).  If I run the swf file on my computer, everything works great.  As soon as I stir him, everything that happens is animation preloader plays constantly, and he never developed to display the images.  Is there something I need to do when I embed this swf in html format so that it can work properly?

  If the swf file is in a different folder as the html file, then you probably are not the xml file or other files correctly.  The swf file must load it as if it were in the same folder as the html page that incorporates files target.

• resizing SWF problem

  I use Captivate 5 and in the past, when I published and clicked on the .html file, the swf would open in the browser IE centered and with the "worthy of the browser" size It also automatically adjusted to the size when I open the .swf file, although sometimes it was not centered.

  To find out if you have the last update patch already installed, go to the menu "help > about Adobe Captivate" and look for the build number. It should read 5.0.1.624 if the last update is installed on your system.
