In fact, that would be my next suggestion. If you're technical enough, you can use a Linux, or in your case, USB key bootable CD. I have had several instances where do this on a disk failed HARD still allows me to remove some data. Not everything, but it's worth a shot-to-shot, sure! And even if it doesn't work, you still have the USB key to use.

Original title: Vista Activation issue
After 4 years of use my computer without any problems at all, I get a message saying that my copy of Windows Vista is NOT activated.

Satellite L850 - after 1 year of use battery runs out quickly

First, please note that the battery working time depends on the use of the laptop.
Running applications heavy performance as a game would drain the battery very quickly. Why? Because parties such as GPU and CPU and cooling to highest performance and this modules needs power.
Also using the laptop with higher brightness may drain the battery faster.You should also know that each battery would start to loose own performance after about 500 charge cycles. This is nothing unusual and happens to all batteries.
In order to avoid or slow down this process, its recommended to calibrate the battery from time to time.
Calibration of means of loading and unloading the battery fully.
Charge the battery until it could be fully charged, then disconnect the power adapter and keep the battery discharge up to his completely empty. Repeat 2-3 times in the line. -

Photoshop Elements 7 does not start (after 3 years I used it)
Yesterday, when I opened my Photoshop Elements 7 (I use it on my PC from 3 years old), after the splash screen, an alert windows tells me there is a mistake and offered to restart the PC or reinstall the product. The program closes automatically.
I am not able to write the exact phrase of the alert, because now PE7 start not at all. Not even the alert with the error message.
I have always used this product in this 3 years (from this PC), without problems.
PE7 was preinstalled and previously recorded by the manufacturer of the PC (Sony Vaio). So, now, I have not even the registration key to reinstall PE7.
Also, I tried to open first Adobe Elements 7 (also, pre-installed and pre-registered, but never used) and after the program start screen automatically close itself.
What can I do? ! ?

Satellite U920T - battery short time after 2 years of use of work
Hi all
My 2 years old computer U920t laptop / Tablet satellite ultrabook has bad battery life. The battery will only last up to 2 hours before requiring charging on the basis of data entry doc/excel word normal.
Any ideas on how I can improve it?
The Toshiba pc health monitor function constantly informs me that I need to replace the battery because of normal wear and tear, but I thought that the battery is an 'internal' part means that it cannot be replaced?
If anyone can offer some advice that would be great!

In my view, it is generally any kind of a rule or a standard on the battery life. On some machines battery hold capacity for an extended period of time by comparison with other models of laptops.
Is that over time the battery will discharge capacity and result will be reduction of working time.You can try to increase the hours of work change some power options and turn off some unnecessary background processes.
Several new models of laptops have a newer design where battery can be removed so simply and it is placed under the lower lid but it can be replaced also. A day where you need again the closest contact Toshiba service provider and they can replace it for you. -
Genuine advantage system is not validated after 5 years of use?
When I visit the Microsoft/Windows update site, I get a message saying that my system has to be validated. By clicking thro to the checkout page, I get a message - "this may take some time - is-do not sail away this page" and a blank web page. He slept like that for nearly 12 hours and a blue star appeared in the taskbar that announces that my system has no validation. By clicking 'Fix' I am taken by the same procedure. I have a genuine Microsoft system that I bought in 2007 from DigitalRiver and I've automatically updated since then until a few days ago. Why my system now fails validation?

You can install Windows Vista 32 bit, an upgrade, however I do not recommend to do as far as the performance is usually a bit more severe if 'upgraded' through 'upgrade '.

CS4 is much older than Windows 8. CS4 is supposed to work on XP or Vista. It runs on Windows 7 was a bit of a problem, so I'm pleasantly surprised to hear that you have CS4 running on Windows 8 in all.
It is also possible that a new camera records in a codec that does not include such an old version of AE.
Make sure that you use the last update of your version of AE. You are on version 9, so make sure that you have completed the Adobe After Effects CS4 9.0.3 Update (I wouldn't update in the middle of a project, that any change could break AE). I want to reiterate: you are using a version that was published there is an operating system that was much more recently published six. So be careful how you strip rolling. However, if you are not running 9.0.3, you are missing some bug fix updates that might solve your problem.
I would say that upgrading to a newer version of AE.
That being said, as Dave mentions, CS4 and earlier had a lot of trouble with the MPEG-4 and other codecs that uses interframe compression. You can open the files in your version of first? If so, you can use the first or Adobe Media Encoder to convert into a good intermediate codec. MOV is just a container format. QuickTime with the PNG codec will work in After Effects CS4 with no problems, just like the other codecs that Dave mentions.

And now I keep it again. I want to convert all the points as a curve at the same time.

It's all using the right tools.
- Select the layer with the path
- Select the tool pen (g)
- Press and hold Ctrl/Cmnd and place the cursor on any part of the path to select - you will see a solid filled small arrow
- Release the Ctrl/Cmnd key and move the path tool, so you can drag a selection around the verticies
- Hold Down the Ctrl/Cmnd key to reveal an arrow small white selection
- Drag your selected verticies
- Release the Ctrl/Cmnd key and press the Alt/Option key to reveal the convert vertex tool
- Click on any vertex to change linear to Bezier or vice versa
This allows you to convert all the selected vertices. You can't click and drag, but you can convert it to a symmetrical set of Bezier curves.

2709W, found 1 sub-pixel dead red after 5 years. :-(

As the perfectionist I am later that yesterday, I found 1 dead subpixel red somewhere at the bottom right of the screen. I checked the entire screen when I bought it new on the Dell site. Happy I was and I'm still with the monitor is it still possible to solve this problem? Guaranteed after 5 years should have disappeared, of course, but I'm just not used to happen with screens LCD after years. Usually the pixels continue to work after 24 hours of testing. I remember myself even check my monitor after 2 years of purchase and everything was always very well then.

I've always heard after a good week of use when it is new, and all the pixels work at this time, that it is an indication, it will stay like this forever? Without no doubt... but it is quite low and sad and then because I'm always extremely careful with my stuff. The screen has not yet moved in the same place since the new condition immaculate so I wonder why this tiny red subpixel little says goodbye... for the rest, that this screen is in a State that it can be sold like new again. No difference to see. Not a scratch or anything else. Too bad because I was hoping it would be good so I can use it for many years without the dead pixels.
